Nice place to eat and hike with the family.

I think it's a crime that a restaurant on the top of a mountain doesn't offer free tap water. most other places in the alps would let me fill my water bottle on the toilet, which is vital during a long hike, and the least I'd expect when a plate of seemingly heated up food already costs 25-30 euros.

A huge breakfast buffet where I was able to try a range of Appenzell cheese. The buffet also offers barley soup and Schlorzifladen and much more. We had a voucher and made a reservation, which was necessary if we wanted to eat in the beautiful part of the revolving restaurant. That was fully booked. The view is beautiful!

A trip in clear weather, and could see the panorama of mountains around. As well as to the city of Constance on Lake Constance. The trip was a good experience, then we visited the town of Appenzell. There were approx. 35 g. Heat on the mountain. Which is unusual in Switzerland in the month of August where normally it will be 22. g. I visited the restaurant at Hoher Kasten. It was cool here for drinks.

I had a great lunch at this restaurant! My fitness teller with chicken was pretty good. The sauce over the chicken made a difference for me. Also I loved the combination of all kinds of veggies that came with it. The house dressing was delicious too. My boyfriend ordered the pasta with apple sauce. For me, if the sauce is too sweet, I don't like it. I think in many restaurants, their apple sauce is kind of sweet to my taste bud.. But he liked it and I found it decent. The desserts made me smile 😊. It is cool to be seated at a table on the moving floor. It is a good business idea especially by the cable station and the observatory deck overlooking an amazing view. The staff was friendly. The price may be a bit higher but I guess that is what restaurants usually charge you considering the location. I would like to come back again.

A visit to the Hoher Kasten is always worth it. You already feel welcome in the gondola. Nice view good food. Friendly staff

We, a family of 6, have been coming to brunch on Mother's Day for years. It's always a special experience, whether the weather is nice or bad. The quality of the food and the service are top... Price/performance absolutely met We look forward to the next few years

The buffet and service are great. But definitely go there with at least 3 people. The two of you are simply seated somewhere directly without any distance and sit at a normal table of four with other people. Must be aware. We'll definitely never do that again.

I went to this place on my Birthday.For me the cable car drive was free because of birthday.i went on winter time.it was so Amazing.i had a breakfast buffet at the hilltop.They have very good options for different breads and cheese.The restaurent was rotating around so the view was very good Bonus.Itsay must Experience.

The valley station of the cable car is in Brülisau and the Hoher Kasten is at 1794m above sea level. The hike from Brülisau to the summit requires almost 1000 meters of altitude to be overcome and the hike takes about plus/minus 3 hours and the direct route leads over the Alp Ruhesitz. Another option and an absolute highlight is the tour from the summit of the Hoher Kasten to the Stauberen with the Rhine Valley and the Voralberg in view, from the Stauberen the path then continues around the Stauberenkanzel to the Saxerlücke 🔝 and from there down to the Bollenwees. From there it goes back across Sämtisersee to the starting point in Brülisau. The length of this unique adventure tour is a good 18 km and the time required is around 6 hours of pure hiking time. @labrador_for_ever_verrazzano
