I leave one star because although it is an excellent place, the small details would make it excellent. In 2024 it is impossible not to have clearly written the ingredients of the dishes: I am a vegetarian and I ordered a buckwheat soup in which I then found bacon even though it was not indicated on the menu. This is a lack of respect especially for a not so exceptional diet. Rather, if you don't want to write down all the ingredients (even if there was plenty of meat), indicate whether a dish is vegetarian or not with the classic green leaf. Furthermore, the desserts are not homemade which lowers the overall quality quite a bit. Friendly and helpful staff

Amazing! The place is in the center. Truly typical and beautiful interior. Excellent service, from professionalism to courtesy. We were there during our holiday, we tried the 1st evening and then we always went there for dinner for the remaining evenings because we had a wonderful time. We tried various dishes and everything was really delicious and well prepared. They also have a small shop where you can buy local products. Our compliments indeed and it is highly recommended!

The place is very suggestive, it is located in the center of Poschiavo, with several rooms, including an ancient cellar and what must have been an ancient stable. The staff is very friendly and you are served with attention and remarkable speed. You can eat very well: from the excellent soups (I recommend the one with buckwheat) to the amazing ravioli (of two types, with meat and with vegetables), then the full-bodied second courses accompanied by polenta, the result of Valtellina cuisine of undoubted quality. The bill is steep, as always in these places, made worse by the unfavorable exchange rate, but it's worth it. We had dinner in the room at the back, which however is quite cramped and has narrow spaces, there is little light and the floor is quite uneven; especially the support beams at the top are too low. There is a risk of getting really hurt.

Magical place, intimate and familiar atmosphere. The girls who served us were very kind, the dishes... divine! I think I ate the best pizzoccheri I've ever tasted so far. The owner is a very attentive person who does his job with his heart. Thank you!

One of the most characteristic places in all of Poschiavo, a wine bar and restaurant in the historic center of the village with some rooms created inside an ancient, expertly redeveloped stable. The owner Orlando, the young and brilliant Sara and the rest of the team warmly welcome the people who, according to them and according to the mood of the place, enter as customers and leave as friends! The dishes offered are each more interesting than the other, with reinterpretations of typical local dishes or unique, tasty and tasty combinations. A dinner here is worth the trip from Milan and back, better if you stay a couple of nights in the total relaxation and quiet of this small and welcoming mountain village. I really think we'll be back and in any case, after this evening's dinner, we'll do it again tomorrow evening!!!

Upon entering the room you completely detach yourself and find yourself in a unique location decorated in a truly particular way, a pleasant experience even before reading the menu. The restaurant offers many specialties of the region, including revisited ones such as Engadine tagliatelle (with the same ingredients as pizzoccheri). The staff is kind and prepared to recommend the wine to accompany the dishes. We were fully satisfied.

The food is so delicious that you will always want to go there and enjoy the specialties. The restaurant is one of the best of the best in TripAdvisor. A very tasteful and imaginative ambience rounds off the fine food. The personnel is very friendly and courteous.

It tastes good when eaten hot, then it gets a little bit greasy, but overall it's a new experience worth trying. Didn't taste the wine here, but I recommend giving it a try.

This Hoststaria is unique. A visit is always a pleasure. The long train journey is worth it. The innkeeper cooked in front of the restaurant. The different rooms are decorated in a very nostalgic way.

From Australia- We drove from Bellagio to Poschiavo today to explore my family’s beautiful home town. We stopped in for lunch at Hostaria del Borgo. The food was incredible and so was the service. Our day got even better when our waitress and the Restaurant owner went out of their way to help us connect with our extended family that we have never met. The hotel manger organised for a relative to come and meet us at the Restaurant. We couldn’t have wished for a more amazing experience during our visit to Poschiavo while we explored our families heritage. A big thank-you to the staff for providing us with a day we will never forget. If you’re ever visiting Poschiavo make sure you visit Hostaria del Borgo!

Fantastic dinner, immediately welcomed and looked after perfectly, great attention to detail and to the well-being of customers, always. We took the selection of cheeses, the pizzoccheri and the capunet, all perfect. I really appreciated all the little touches they add to their dishes to make them unique. The polenta with local cheese was good, also the pasta. Quite busy at lunch hour, service can be a bit slow.

Far away from Michelin and Gault Miliau’s, authenticity and generosity is the name of the game here. Fantastic regional cuisine that tastes like nothing else. Go for the Capunet, the Crostine, the Polenta or whatever you are tempted for it will be a culinary journey dedicated to the Poschiavo. Enjoy!

Been there several times, friendly staff in the shop and restaurant and delicious local products.

Super fine food, great grotto-like atmosphere, some dishes with 100% local products from Poschiavo at super fair prices. The owner is also remarkable and extremely hospitable! Background: It was the second dinner on our little trip through Switzerland. We stayed at the Hotel Le Prese. Due to the bad weather we were a little later than planned. The host gave us a table at 9 p.m. (reservation originally made in 1930) and! He picked us up personally and brought us back to the hotel, which we thought was an extremely nice gesture! Overall, we can highly recommend this restaurant. Reservation could definitely be worthwhile.

The ingredients are very fresh, and the presentation of the raw beef is very creative. You need to mix it yourself. The dessert Panna Cotta is also very authentic.

Being located a few steps from one of the stations on the route of the famous Bernina train, it is an absolutely recommended stop for those who want to stop and eat during the trip.

We went to this restaurant on a Saturday evening: despite this and the place being full, the service was attentive, fast and helpful. The food is exceptional: starting from the starter of cured meats and cheeses, the polenta taragna and the pizzoccheri. Fully satisfied, recommended!

We had no idea when we entered this place, looks just like a cafe bar, but then when we ushered to the back dining room we were surprised by the unique grotto atmosphere style. Service and foods are excellent, local food with great taste and nice presentation.

Osteria with high quality cuisine in the historic center of Poschiavo, in the context of the splendid valley of the same name. A place with an incredibly welcoming atmosphere and housed in an old farmhouse that has been faithfully renovated. Offering very traditional but truly refined and elegant dishes. The staff is very kind, punctual and always available. I strongly recommend it.

We had dinner there on the first evening thinking about changing restaurants every day, well, we didn't really think about changing after the first evening! 😀

Location & ambience: The Hostaria del Borgo is located in the heart of the village of Poschiavo and you can enjoy a Mediterranean feeling. Unfortunately I can't judge what it looks like inside. Price: By Swiss standards, the prices are fair in the middle price segment. Summary: 5/5 stars, everything done right! 😀🙌🏻

Ate outside in Poschiavo. For me it is one of the best restaurants in Poschiavo. We had Tajadin, Capunet and a cordon bleu. Everything was very fine. Nice and attentive service. You shouldn't miss the dessert there.

We stayed a week in Menaggio on Lake Como Italy, and we mostly had great meals all week. We spent 1 day driving in the Swiss Alps, and ended up eating here. It was the best meal we had all week. Excellent food, great service, and a very nice atmosphere. Highly recommend.

This restaurant really deserves an honorable mention. It‘s one of the best i went in Switzerland. The fact that it is located in the countryside it makes it even special! Do lot get let down by the entrance: you will be guided to the back to reveal it‘s true unique design. The experience was one to repeat for sure!

Friday evening dinner as a stopover during a journey on the Bernina red train. I have no words to describe the welcome, the beauty of the cave, the smells, the atmosphere and the quality of the products used for incredibly good dishes. I'm sorry I can't give 6 stars. Absolutely recommended if you happen to be in Poschiavo, in fact, you should go there specifically like I did with my family.

We were traveling with RhB-Panorama and stayed in Poschiavo for lunch. The RhB provided 4 restaurants to choose from for lunch. We chose the Hosteria del Borgo and were not disappointed but rather positively surprised by the rooms, the service and the lunch. This hosteria is top and absolutely recommended. The tip of the top was that the owner came looking for us in the village on his bike and brought me my forgotten sunglasses. Absolutely everything is GREAT. Heinz B.

I went to Hosteria del Borgo for lunch with my wife on Saturday December 8th. We received a very warm welcome and had a place in their superbly furnished cellar - so authentic and warmly decorated. The food and their house wine were excellent, as was the tiramisu with our photo on it. We bought a bottle of the wine from the shop to take home. Would come back immediately.

We found this restaurant while wandering the streets of Poschiavo. The charcuterie board was outstanding, the meats were very tender and delicious and the cheese was great. The spinach gnocchi was one of the best dishes I've had while in Switzerland/Italy. The steak was superb, buttery, crisp (sear was excellent), and tender. I would come back to this small little town to have a taste of their magic again. It's a foodies dream!

Fantastic food and experience. The steak is perfectly cooked and seasoned, the gnocchi with spinach and brown butter is heaven, the charcuterie plate is awesome and the polenta is comfort food joy. Would trek back to this tiny town just to eat here.

The prices, well they are Swiss, but, for once...

Wonderfully beautiful cellar, service is courteous and attentive. The food can keep up, the menu is rather small but what is served is excellent. Homemade ravioli and deer tagliata are extremely good. The wine list is very nice and contains many local wines, let us advise you. Corte di Cama by Mamete Prevostini is highly recommended, on the same level as Arpepe and Fay but at an unbeatable price-performance ratio. Gladly again at any time.
