The perfect way to travel south comfortably. There is usually a lot of traffic jams and waiting times in front of the Gotthard Tunnel. You can really switch off here. You will be welcomed very friendly. The rooms are classically Swiss, but everything is very, very clean. The varied art on the walls is great. Everything(?) here is painted by the hotelier himself. The small breakfast buffet with homemade rolls and bread is very fresh, tasty and there is something for everyone to start the day well fortified. Dinner is absolutely amazing! The prices are reasonable for Switzerland. Everything is prepared super fresh and everything we tried was very good on all days! The parking options are good.

A bit of confusion over menu options between those indicated by the boss on arrival and waitress's view on what was available at supper time. Solved eventually with a gesture of free tap water (which ' we would normally have to pay for!' Really!?) with a delicious supper. Breakfast was good despite a hint of coolness from the waitress – a complete contrast to the warmth of the owner and his chef wife. No dark wholegrain bread at breakfast ( the only occasion during our five-week walk from Basel to Chiasso!)... Really? In Switzerland!? And, it would have been nice to have been offered a coffee refill... That said, overall, a good overnight stay that we would recommend.

Because of a car accident we needed a place to sleep quickly and the host of the hotel was kind enough to let me check in late at night after a phonecall from the garage that towed me off the road. Without the kindness of these people we would have been forced to sleep outside in the rain. Furthermore, the hotel is clean and the rooms are big. The staff is friendly and helpfull (they even gave us a ride back to the garage to take out belongings from the car because it was totalled.) All in all a great place and i would love to come back.
