Hotel National in Zermatt

One of the best hotels I have ever been to, a very chic hotel and very well located

There are shopping streets and stations within a short walk, and you can even see the Matterhorn! ! ! (It’s only a 10-minute walk from the place where everyone says they want to take photos of the Matterhorn.) The hotel room is very quiet and spacious. There is also capsule coffee to drink and a small balcony to enjoy the beautiful scenery outside. I went there before Christmas and the snow outside was still fun to play with. It’s so fun to step on the snow😁 If you are lucky you can also see the Matterhorn Breakfast is buffet style with many varieties He can order from the chef Depends on whether you need solar eggs or ohmic eggs, etc. But it is recommended to order food from him in advance Because he will issue number plates, you may have to wait for a long time. I think its yogurt is very delicious. Recommended The black-faced lamb dish is also served here for dinner. My husband ate black-faced lamb and he said it was very delicious. Since I didn’t dare to eat sheep, the restaurant gave me fish stew. The fish is very delicious and tender But I heard from the tour guide that the stewed rice in Europe is a bit chewy. So the taste is different from what you eat in Taiwan. Taiwanese people may feel that the rice is undercooked. But it’s also quite a special experience. The dessert is delicious hahahaha not too sweet 👍

Stayed here 2 weeks ago for a weeks skiing half board. Amazing place. Rooms good. Location right opposite Sunnegga lift. Both breakfast and dinner was delicious. Half board was a fixed menu of 4 courses. The spa is wonderful. The best thing about this hotel is the staff - extremely friendly, happy and knowledgeable. Always going out of their way to help.

Sehr schöner Wellnessbereich, super freundliches und zuvorkommendes Personal und heimelige Zimmer

Very nice restaurant - 5 out of 5! Cozy and renovated spa area. Rooms are a bit outdated and not the most caring staff. Also was a hard process to get the booking - the place looks to be in a very high demand.

It is a hotel with a very attractive family atmosphere in excellent category where you can enjoy many conditions at the highest level. The work team is five stars. I recommend that when visiting Zermatt you stay at this hotel.

Bonjour à tous, excursions au National et comme prévenue au départ c'est top, bien sûr la vue du Cervin de votre balcon est fortement recommandée, chambres très spacieuse. L'accueil est formidable, le bar top class munie d'un service très précis. Quand au restaurant, la carte est vite lue mais avec le covid en cette période, elle est restreinte... le service est toujours impeccable. La piscine est sympa et relativement spacieuse, accompagnée d'une petite salle de fitnesse et bains à bulle. L'espace wellness est super, mais, toujours un mais (rire), les gens ont de la peine à s'adapter aux mesures vestimentaires imposé dans ce lieu, pudeur ..... quoi qu'il en soit à Zermatt je m'arrêterai ici, félicitations au personnel.

Das Hotel befindet sich zu Fuss 10min vom Bahnhof der Matterhorn - Gotthardbahn und von der Gornergrat Bahn entfernt. Auch lässt sich das Zentrum sehr einfach zu Fuss erreichen. Wir waren im dritten Stock einquartiert und hatten eine schöne Aussicht auf das Matterhorn (siehe Bild). Am Morgen gibt es ein reichhaltiges Frühstückbuffet an dem auch frisch zubereitetes Müsli oder Creppes nicht fehlen. Das Abendessen war jedesmal sehr gut und ein drei Gänge Menü für 65.- ist absolut angebracht. Das Personal im Hotel ist höflich und zuvorkommend. Über den Tag können Snacks bestellt werden, hier lässt sich meiner Meinung nach noch über die Preise diskutieren. Die Zimmer sind altmodisch eingerichtet, aber mit einem neuen Badezimmer bestückt. Der altmodische Holzlook passt aber sehr gut zu Zermatt und gehört da hin. Das Spa ist klein aber fein. Eine finnische Sauna, eine wohltuende Heusauna und ein Dampfbad gehören zum erwachsenen Teil, ein Pool, ein Kinderbad sowie ein Wirlpool sind für alle zugänglich. Ich kann das Hotel nur weiter empfehlen.

Très bel acceuil en Français, très bien mangé personnel sympathique, le spa est magnifique (tout neuf ) Bref une très belle adresse à retenir.

Pas à la hauteur de leurs prestations

C'est la deuxième fois que je vais dans cet hôtel, le personnel y est très sympa la vue sur le Cervin est magnifique, et les repas y sont fantastiques. A refaire .

we stayed in this hotel 5-7min walk from the Zermatt Train station. As we traveled during the Corona Pandemic, amidst that we didn’t feel it was a big hindrance. We would recommend to take the a la cart service compared to halve-pension as the food in the halve-pension was so so... The room was in close proximity to the street and the train-tracks but we didn’t hear the street much. Overall the location is good, the room size okay and the balcony had a view of the Matterhorn which was nice. All additional safety and sanitation Covid-19 measures were at a top in at this hotel. Spa area was really satisfying.

Im Hotel National fühlt man sich einfach nur wohl. Super Service und ganz tolle Mitarbeiter, vom Empfang über Bar, Frühstück , Restaurant wurden wir stets freundlich bedient. Der Spa Bereich ist auch ein schönes Highlight. Herzlichen dank für den wunderschönen Aufenthalt in Zermatt bei euch an den wir uns gerne zurück erinnern, vor allem Dankeschön an Katrin an der Rezeption die stets für uns da war.

Nous avons séjourné 2 nuits à l’hôtel National de Zermatt début février 2021. L’hôtel est parfaitement situé, à quelques minutes à pieds de la gare (mais l’hôtel vient vous chercher et vous ramène en mini van électrique sur demande et gratuitement) mais surtout juste en face des remontées mécaniques du Sunnegga (littéralement en face). Nous avons été super bien accueillis, tout le personnel était au petit soin! La belle surprise fut la vue direct sur le Cervin en arrivant en chambre! Les chambres sont décorées avec soin, dans un style alpin mais moderne, avec de beaux matériaux et tout le nécessaires. Produits de beauté l’Occitane un vrai plus! Nous avons très bien mangé, que ce soit le soir ou au petit déjeuner! Tout était parfait! Le spa vient d’être complètement rénové, avec de beaux matériaux et une ambiance feutrée: piscine, jacuzzi, salle de sport, zone de sauna, hamam, tout y est! Mention spéciale pour les messages et les soins Aromatheray Associates que l’on ne trouve pas partout mais surtout la thérapeute était vraiment super! 1ère fois que je reçois un massage du corps entier, avec une vraie partie de réflexologie plantaire. Nous avons passé un superbe week-end, et nous savons où retourner lors de notre prochain séjour à Zermatt!

Nous avons passé un super séjour au National ! L'accueil et le service rien à redire. Ma femme s'est fait masser au Spa et elle a trouvé la masseuse excellente ! Bravo 👏 En plus, l'emplacement de l'hôtel est top: Pas loin de la gare (5min à pied) et en face des remontées de ski ! Pour moi le meilleur emplacement de Zermatt !

We reserved the cheaper version of the standard 28m² double room. At arrival we were upgraded to the variant with view to the Matterhorn for free, thanks for that! There were little To Toblerones on the bed to welcome us and everytime the room got cleaned, which is a small, but nice detail :) Breakfast buffet was good, I particularly liked having an "egg man" to make "tailor-made" omelettes :) We had fondue for dinner, which was good for both of us (I'm not Swiss, so maybe you'd have to ask a local for a more honest review). Dinner was included in our reservation, but the price would've been fair for Swiss Standards. Fitness and wellness part had everything we needed, perfect for relaxing after a long day of outdoor sports in the surroundings of Zermatt. Only not so positive sidenotes: 1) the Yoga room doesn't invite to do yoga at all. It's full of chairs for people to lay and rest. It has "Yoga-like" music, but the space for actually exercising is small and it would be pretty uncomfortable with so many people just laying around in their bathrobes. 2) the "included" dinner was not really a full dinner, it only included the main dish. Everything else (even water) cost extra. Using the term "1 dinner included" is a bit misleading, maybe try changing it to something more suitable! Overall great experience, I'm satisfied and can recommend it.

We had a not yet renovated room (apart from bathroom), ergo price was too high. We had to pay extra 150 CHF/pers. for the new year's evening menu (8 courses, none of them really special). This information was never communicated during the booking process. Food in the next days better than in the new year's evening. Very good breakfast. SPA rather small, relaxing room small and located right besides children's pool = noisy, no relaxation. Very friendly personnel.

We really enjoyed our time in this place which is really baby friendly. Everything was made so that we felt confortable with our baby boy, from the kids room to the baby pool, but most importantly the people working there are so nice with the kids ! Like they say "you feel at home". We will go back there for sure !

Superbe Hôtel avec un magnifique accueil. La majorité du personnel parle le français. Superbe buffet de petit déjeuner, excellent repas du soir. Normes sanitaires très bien respectées, bravo.

We've had an extremely comfortable stay, even though only for one night. We felt well taken care of and could truly unwind and relax after a long day of traveling. We were greeted with a drink, some fruit and a Kambly Matterhorn biscuit. I was extremely impressed by the breakfast offering. There was a lot of variety and absolutely amazing coffee and superb pastries! I only wish the spa was open longer.

Personnel et service impeccable...

Nous sommes allés dans ce restaurant à 4. Nous avons pris le menu à 65.- plus 4 apéros ainsi que les boissons. Lors de notre repas nous avons pris un carafe d'eau qui nous été remplie 4 fois. Quelle ne fut pas notre surprise lorsque nous avons constaté que chaque remplissage de carafe nous été facturé 7.20.- je ne trouve pas ça correct sachant qu'à aucun moment on ne nous à mentionné le prix de l'eau du robinet. Sachant qu'il y a eu 2 erreurs consécutives sur un apéro qui au final à été servi en milieu de repas, un geste commercial aurait été le bienvenu. Dommage, nous ne reviendrons plus.

La nourriture variée est d'une excellente qualité. Le personnel de service est remarquable. La quantité et la qualité sont top.

Un hôtel charmant, décoré avec goût et idéalement situé au centre du village. Spéciale mention pour le petit-déjeuner avec omelette personnalisée sur commande, jus de légumes et fruits frais ainsi qu'un magnifique rayon de miel à faire baver d'envie un ours 🐻🤗

Das Essen war wunderbar und abwechslungsreich - das Frühstück war ausgezeichnet und es gab Tee und Kuchen, als wir am Nachmittag zurückkamen

The extremely polite and helpful staff makes the experience magical. The rooms are cozy and comfortable; the spa is incredible and never crowded. However, the most crucial part of the experience - the friendly and kind people willing to help with everything. I guess we are coming back next year! :)

Hôtel type chalet, très grande chambre, nous étions 2 adultes avec un bébé et un chien nous n'avons pas senti à l'étroit. La chambre donne la vue directement sur le Cervin. Le restaurant est très bon, le petit déjeuner est très copieuse. Le personnel est très agréable et serviable.

Bien bon chaleureux, belle situation. Bref l'hôtel idéal.

目の前をゴルナーグラート展望台行きの電車が通ります。部屋により、マッターホルンも見えます。料理は美味しかったです。

욕조가 있어서 하이킹 후 피로를 푸는데 좋음. 조식은 스크램블, 크로와상, 요거트, 씨리얼이 맛있었음. 역에서 가까워서 짐을 두고 이동하기 편하고 수네가 매표소 앞 위치함

Good breakfast, decent rooms and location. Top is the view to Mattahorn. Service is nice as well. Close to lifts.

部屋にはベランダがついていてとても素敵、バスルームが凄く綺麗。

Personnel sympathique, hôtel très bien placé (entre Sunnegga, la gare et la Coop). Les chambres sont spacieuses et très propres. Le restaurant est agréable. Un léger manque au niveau de l‘infrastructure, mais ce n‘est pas grave.

Very cozy hotel with amazing spa space and I've of the most interesting (and pleasent) massages - ask for national massage and let yourself surprised by the amazing knowledge of the masseuse. Breakfast is just amazing, worthy to wake up for it!

Es war ein schöner und gelungener Abend im National. Das Essen ist lecker, das Rinderfilet ein Traum! Die Bedienungen sprechen kaum deutsch, dass ist in der Schweiz ein wenig bedauerlich. Alles in allem ein schönes Restaurant mit guter Küche.

El hotel en general era muy bueno. Sin embargo, el restaurante era claramente promedio para la cena. La mayoría de nosotros elegimos el menú fijo y, a pesar de eso, logró ser la comida más cara de la semana. La comida no era nada especial. La calificación es un promedio del grupo, pero hubo algunos "2" entre nosotros.

Lovely hotel just across the Sunnega station. Stayed at the suit with fireplace, and it was joy spending time with kids after cold weather. We also enjoy the swimming pool area where almost there is no one. Couple of minutes walk to the city center, but you can also take the electric cabs if you feel tired.

Il faut dire qu'on avait une offre Qoqa...Repas 4 plats c'est alléchant. Alors hormis le buffet, n'avoir qu'une soupe, un dessert très moyen (une crêpe avec une boule de glace), le plat principal, du poisson et des lentilles ne méritait pas l'appellation Menu Spécial 4 plats...

Super Hotel. Das Zimmer war gross und schön. Im Hotel hat es eine Bar und ein Pool und Wellness Bereich. Würde wieder in diesem Hotel ansteigen.👍

雖然是山景房, 但是望出去會先看到施工中的工地, 再者火車會從旁邊經過, 感覺不夠優.

위치가 나쁘지 않고 내부 시설도 적당합니다 Sunnegga 갈때 바로 길건너에서 곤돌라를 이용할 수 있고 빨래는 역근처 Coop 건물내에 세탁소에 맡기면 킬로그람당 요금으로 비교적 저렴하게 가능합니다 식당이 정말 끝내주는데 직원들도 프로페셔널하고 경치가 너무 좋습니다 왠만하면 같은 식당 두번 이상 가는 경우가 없는데 여기는 예외였습니다 렌트는 하지 않았었기 때문에 주차 문제는 모르겠습니다만 전반적으로 만족스러웠습니다 추천합니다

Hotel ubicado en muy buen lugar y en frente de los remontes mecánicos de no de los valles que componen el dominio esquiando del Cervino. Dispone de guardas, restaurante y habitaciones con vistas al Cervino . Acogedor y buen trato se debe tener en cuenta que a la población de Zermatt hay que llegar en tren desde Tasch.

Super Lage, tolles Personal und Führung.

Wir sind nun schon zum zweiten Mal in diesem Hotel und können es nur weiterempfehlen. Sehr guter und aufmerksamer Service; das Haus hat eine persönliche Note.Die Zimmer haben fast alle Matterhornblick, sind gemütlich und sehr gepflegt. Ein guter Frühstücksservice, eine nette Bar mit Kamin (den muss man aber i.d.R selber nachfeuern, da er auf der Prioritätenliste des Barkeepers offensichtlich weit hinten rangiert) runden den Aufenthalt ab.

Equipaggiato per l'attività sciistica. Sconti per il noleggio sci. Servizio taxi all'arrivo e partenza. Peccato la palestra. Una stanzetta. Calda. Con soli attrezzi cardio e qualche peso. Migliorata la palestra, l'hotel è davvero il top.

大部分前台和服务员都很友好和善，房间很舒适温馨又干净，窗外的风景美如画，附近就是能登上雪山滑雪的缆车站，非常方便，离热闹市区的距离也很近。 在住进酒店后房间内有花生和橘子，每次打扫完还会在枕头上放块巧克力或是别的点心，退房临走前还送了饼干。 La maggioranza di loro è amichevole e simpatica.La stanza è comoda e pulita.I paesaggi che si vede fuori la finestra sono belli come disegni.Vicino c'è la stazione della funivia per salire sulla montagna per lo sci.È anche abbastanza vicino al posto in cui esiste molti ristoranti. Quando arriviamo nella stanza ci sono le arance e gli arachidi.Ogni volta che puliscono la camera lasciano un cioccolato o altre cose sul cuscino.Mentre stiamo andando via ci ha pure regalato dei biscottini.

Room of comfortable size....however room windows opened up to a shared balcony...at night if you shut the windows, it gets quite stuffy after awhile. Staffs are courteous and nice. Tioletries - no toothbrush / paste. One type of shampoo for head to toe. There is kettle for boiling water n yes hairdryer too.

Beautiful hotel our balcony faces the Matterhorn . Super service . Friendly nd well mannered staff . They do their best to keep guests happy. The duplex suites are beautiful for a family of 4 ( can vouch since we stayed in one ) indoor pool nd jacuzzi is very good a must do ! Simple nd wholesome breakfast too ! Interiors of the Hotel are super ( classic style ) loved our stay !

Schönes Hotel mit guter Lage und freiem Blick aufs Horu. Zuvorkommendes Personal und grosszügige Zimmer.

Empfang sehr freundlich. Überhaupt war die Bedienung ausserordentlich gut. Restaurant und Frühstückraum super schön. Garten klein aber fein. Gut gelegen für Sunegga Bahn die vleich gegenüber ist. Trotzdem sehr ruhige Lage.Wellness war nicht so toll. Wird im Sommer nur gegen Wunsch eingeschaltet und dauert dann 45 Minuten bis alles warm ist.Alles in allem gut aber es gibt im Dorf sicher bessere Alternativen.

Ein wunderschönes Hotel mit einem super Service, hier macht es Spaß Gast zu sein.

Pequeño hotel muy acogedor y en pleno centro.

Quiet and a relaxing Hotel in Zermatt. Nothing special about it. There will be a train passing by the track right outside the Hotel.

I have only been here for a day but so far good drinks very excellent location right next to the lifts and good rooms

Classic decoration and nice service

As far as prices go this was a great deal. The rooms were very comfortable, the staff was the friendliest we encountered in Switzerland, it has free breakfast (that was very high quality) and a very convenient location near the ski lifts and train station. The restaurant was delicious and again had really great staff. The free pool and saunas were an added bonus.

Wir kamen für Fondue und es war wunderbar. Das Menü bietet verschiedene Fondue Pakete reichen von 23 - 50 Dollar . Die Atmosphäre ist gemütlich und der Service ist wundervoll.

This is not a 4 stars hotel. No way. Spa is average, hotel overpriced and service is mediocre. Buffet dinner for 65chf, I honestly eat better at the work cafeteria. But the worst of all is the service. Let's see, in chronological order: 1) when we booked they said they would call back to confirm by noon. They did not call back and at 13:00 we had to call back. 2) I had a very important letter to send. I asked reception and they told me you can give it to us. I thanked them but I replied I wanted to do it personally. The receptionist told me there is a mail box in front of us or you can bring it to the post. Being Friday night I was afraid Saturday the post would not pick up my letter, but the receptionist told us twice that as long as I do it before 17:00 on a Saturday I would be fine. On Sat I go to the post at 11:45. The post is closed. The mail box outside says they pick up the letters last time at 11:00, on Saturday. 3) we booked a package including 55 minutes massage per person. My wife double check with them but at the end we get only 40 minutes per person. At check out time we ask for explanations. They tell us "sorry, there must have been a mistake on internet". They thought they could just get away with it. So I insisted and finally they admitted the receptionist had made a mistake communicating to the massage folks the amount of time. Fine, so what's the compensation for the mistake? Nothing at all. No discount, no voucher. 4) we ask to book a restaurant on Saturday. The guy at the reception said he would do it and would call us back in the room. After one hour we go back and ask about the confirmation. He said he did not do it. Then he tried right away and the restaurant was fully booked.

Great location, just opposite of Sunnegga Gondola

Hotel ist an guter Lage, elegant und bietet alles nötige. Zimmer sind sauber und die Aussicht ist super. Leider hat es mit den reservierten Massage-Terminen nicht wie gewünscht funktioniert (-1 Stern).

What a wonderful time we had at the Hotel National. It is a very short walk from the train station and immediately across the street from the Sunnegga tram that we took up for our hike. The reception was warm and welcoming. All of the staff were exceptional during our stay. They were helpful and friendly and a pleasure to deal with. The room was large and comfortable and very clean. We had two decks, one on either side of the room. The bathroom was also very clean and modern and well appointed. The deck with the sheepskin on every chair was very comfortable and once again the service was excellent. Thank you to everyone who made our stay at the Hotel National Zermatt such a special experience.

Das Hotel National in Zermatt war fast unser Nachbarhotel und so kamen wir über Internetrecherchen darauf, das im Sommer Freitags und Samstags ein All you can eat BBQ Angebot auch für externe Gäste existiert. Für 49,-CHF pro Person bekommt man am Buffet eine große Auswahl an Salaten, Antipasti und warmen Beilage. Draußen auf der Terrasse grillt der Chefkoch persönlich (jung und super gut gelaunt) verschiedenste Fleisch und Fischsorten. Über Pulled Pork und Steaks bis hin zu Lachs und Garnelen, ein wahrer Genuss. Sogar ein Raclette Teller wird angeboten. Für diesen Preis in bekommt in Zermatt nichts vergleichbares. TIpp: unbedingt vorher resevieren!

A 5 minutes de la gare et du centre de la station, également à proximité immédiate du départ du Sunegga, nous sommes tombés sur cet Hotel de charme avec un personnel très sympathique à vos petits soins. La chambre familiale que nous avons eu (la 403), en duplex, était idéal avec nos enfants. Malgré une vue directe sur les rails du petit train du Gornergratt (pas de nuisances) nous avons eu une très belle vue sur le Cervin. Le buffet et la salle du petit-déjeuner sont magnifiques. La piscine intérieure est aussi très sympa.

Sehr gute Lage, sehr schöne Zimmer, freundliches und aufmerksames Personal. Inklusive sehr gute Küche. Nicht ganz günstig aber rundum zum Wohlfühlen.

Beautiful hotel with great views of the mountains. Very thoughtful staff. Only thing is that lobby closes at night and you're prohibited from sitting down there. So if you need to step out of your room to take a phone call at night (so as not to disturb your room mate) you won't be able to sit in the lobby which is inconvenient.

Great service. Beautiful hotel near the train station. My room faced the mighty Matterhorn. I was welcomed with a complimentary drink and bar snack while my room was being readied. Perfect in every way.

Mein Mann und ich waren in ein anderes Hotel in Zermatt aber wir kamen hier für "all you can eat Swiss BBQ" Abendessen am Samstag Abend. Ernsthaft, der Service hier war perfekt! Vor allem, den Service eines Oberkellner "Laurent" und ein Küchenchef "Dominic" war super toll. Wir haben noch nie erlebt das super Service vor. Sie sind einzigartig. Natürlich war das Essen war auch super lecker. Ich empfehle das Hotel National's Restaurant.このホテルには滞在していませんでしたが、金曜日と土曜日限定のスイスバーベキューの食べ放題のためにホテルナショナルの一階にあるレストランへ行きました。私と夫はテラス席に座っていたのですが、ウェイターさんやシェフの方が本当に驚くほどフレンドリーで、食事もビュッフェではありますがアぺタイザーなど凝った料理が多く、心から楽しめました。私たちは個人旅行でしたが、ホテルナショナルにはツアーで日本からいらっしゃってる方々もチラホラお見かけしました。日本人が求めるレベルのホテルなんだろうなあと思いました。レストランだけでなくホテルもとても素敵そうで、滞在なさっているかたがうらやましかったです。！このレストラン、おススメします！

ツェルマット滞在中のお昼を頂きました。食事の量はちょっと少ない感じでしたけど、そこは海外。こんな味なんだ、と満足しました。帰りに町散策をしながら、ちょっと買い食いしましたけど。
