A beautiful location for business and pleasure stays, located in Frutigen in the canton of Bern, Switzerland, a couple of easy hours train or car ride from Zürich Flughafen, (and many other magical locations in Switzerland) with the local Frutigen train station a very handy 5 minute walk away, and the hotel offers free parking for customers with chargers for EV’s. I have stayed here several times before and have always been extremely happy with every part of my stay. This Hotel also has an onsite restaurant and confiserie all family owned and run by Juliane and Philipp Blaser and their team. The hotel rooms… Are very reasonably priced, cozy, all clean, warm, with a Swiss cabin vibe and serviced daily if you want. Our Deluxe Junior Suite was upper level with spectacular views of the snow-covered mountains over the terrasse and had a newly updated bathroom. The room furniture suits the cabin feel along with the comfortable beds and individual duvets, all very clean, and with plenty of closet space and the all-important wall sockets and USB points to use for gadgets. The free wi-fi is strong, dependable, and secure. The restaurant… Is run by Philip and his brother and offers outstanding food as a member of the Swiss gilde etablierter schweizer gastronomen ( https://www.gilde.ch/ ) whose members charter is to provide great value, ambiance, hospitality, experience and relaxation and guarantee excellent cuisine and quality. Located on the ground floor of the hotel it serves breakfast, lunch and dinner and gives access to the outside terrasse where you can sit with a drink and take in those views of the mountains that will stay with you. Our room booking came with breakfast, the coffee is hot and plentiful, the breakfast is a help-yourself smorgasbord of delicious cold cuts, local cheeses fresh pastries, bread & rolls, fruit, homemade jams, yoghurts, spreads, local eggs boiled to order and many other items – more than enough to get you feeling ready for a long day ahead! Dinner was always an adventure we did not want to end; the kitchen has traditional fare from salads to steaks but can also provide Thai themed food for a change. We ate in the restaurant several times, trying the Piratensteak, Rassiger Burger, House made Tagliatelle and also the unbelievable 2 person Käsefondue moitié/moitié (50/50 Gruyère and vacherin from Fribourg) all accompanied by local beers (bottled or Bier von Fass), or Swiss wines both white and red which are delicious. The bar can also supply night caps of many different spirits and liquors as needed. The confiserie… Well, we are in Switzerland, and this certainly upholds the legendary chocolate expectation we have of the Swiss…. A huge homemade selection of all thing’s chocolate from individual truffles to bars to novelty topical items, all packaged with incredible style and ready for transport back with you 😊 The confiserie also serves numerous different flavor pastries, food and drinks all day and is great for a small snack or sneaky piece of delicious pie, tart, or ice cream, again, all home made in the kitchen here. Overall, a 10/10 wonderfully well-run hotel with all you will need to make a very successful vacation, walking holiday, overnight stay, business stop or just to enjoy a great meal any time of the day in the restaurant. We would just like to complete this review by mentioning some of the people that made our stay so memorable in any way they could, a very hard working team that we enjoyed very much: Juliane and Philipp – owners and great hosts Tina who was a marvel in the restaurant with many great foodie suggestions Anya who was breakfast champ on Thursdays Jaqueline (from Texas) who helps in all areas and for us many times with local suggestions. Carina, the most cheerful person we have met for a long while who runs the confiserie. Sauber & sehr bequeme Betten. Der Eingang täuscht. Die Zimmer sind urchig Modern, mit einer tollen starken Dusche. Etwas hellhörig, was in Holzhäusern aber normal ist. Super Frühstück, auch wenn ich mir hier noch Margarine wünschen würde. Die Aussicht auf die Berge ist fantastisch und das Zustellbett hat unserer Tochter auch sehr gefallen. Etwas gewöhnungsbedürftig ist der Laute Abzug im Bad, der vor allem in der Nacht fast die ganze Familie aufweckt. Ein automatisches Nachtlicht im Klo wäre vielleicht noch ein Familien-Extra? Wir kommen bestimmt wieder. Viele Läden gleich um die Ecke. Uns hat es sehr gefallen. Vielen Dank ans freundliche und unkomplizierte Personal.

We ordered the burger and the vegetable stir fry with cashews to take out and it was absolutely delicious! Ordering via phone was very easy and quick, the meals were ready on time once we came to pick them up (no waiting time at all) and everybody was very friendly. Last but not least, the food itself was great - we loved every bite and would definitely recommend!
