I occasionally use the cigar lounge here. The lounge is in the basement, quite large and with good ventilation. So far I've always had good space or been almost alone. The seats and bench are comfortable, but I personally miss armrests. The staff is friendly and, even though you're in the basement, they're pretty quick. Due to the location right next to the train station, you can easily travel here by public transport

We had dinner at the Hotel Uzwil with a group of 8 people. The food and service in the restaurant were top. Very entertaining and really very accommodating. Then, to end the evening, we went to the cigar lounge in the basement. From then on it all went downhill. The lady serving us, Maika, was the complete opposite of the lady who served us the rest of the evening. Small example: when asked which cigars and schnapps/whiskeys were recommended, the answer was how did you know that we smoke and drink them after all - total incompetence! A certain amount of advice should be expected in a cigar lounge, especially since it is a 4-star restaurant/hotel. This went on for the rest of the evening, with the lady at the end neither handing over the jackets (4 star restaurant??) nor offering a nice evening or a thank you. We find it extremely unfortunate that a service employee in the lounge had to end an evening with a very negative aftertaste, although the rest of it really deserves praise. A note: the lady who served us in the restaurant came into the cigar lounge after she got off work and said goodbye to us. That's how service works!! We would like to come back to enjoy the cuisine, but hope that this lady will not serve us. Thank you very much

Very nice, small hotel at the train station. Some of the windows look out onto the tracks and so you have to keep the curtains closed. In addition, you are woken up by the trains. So you can safely leave your hairdryer at home because you can't infect it. But there is a hairdryer in the bathroom. But there can be a problem with the notebook because you can't plug it in either.

Unfortunately I can only give one star because our short stay at the Hotel Uzwil was disappointing. We had a reservation using a voucher for two nights and a voucher worth €120 for additional services. We didn't check in until around 9 p.m. in the evening. Unfortunately, we received a telephone call that canceled our appointment the next day. We went straight to our colleague with our concerns and then checked out. We agreed to still pay for one night because our room couldn't be rented out that night. Unfortunately we didn't receive until September 25th. no response from the hotel. When we finally contacted us, we were confronted with an unfounded countercharge in which a vegan breakfast and the entire voucher value were deducted. This approach seems extremely questionable and disappointing to us. We didn't stay overnight or eat at the hotel. There was no accommodation whatsoever from the hotel, which was very disappointing. Overall, we are very disappointed with our stay at the Hotel Uzwil and unfortunately cannot recommend it. Please excuse the directness of my review, but I hope this will lead to an improvement in the quality of service.
