Huus am Arnensee in Gsteig

Very nice restaurant with a beautiful view. The restaurant probably can't do much about it, which is why it doesn't affect the rating, but a toll of 7 francs for motorcycles is a disgrace. Tolls are ok, but please half as much as for cars, we only have two wheels.

Very good and very nice. I give 4/5 stars for the cuisine, because the röstis with tomme and ham were excellent but I would have liked to have the entrecôte with mushrooms, but at 62 balls, no thank you, while the price of the other dishes were reasonable, staff smiling and attentive. By mountain bike, on foot or even by car it is ideal, plus the view is superb. Go for it, you won't regret...

Very nice place. We were served very nicely by the whole team, the cold plate of meat and cheese was good, unfortunately all the dishes are too expensive.

Wonderful place... nature, calm, magical...

We arrived outside peak hours. No one greeted us and we waited a good ten minutes before taking the initiative to go find out. When we were finally able to order half of the dishes on the menu were no longer available (without prior information), the dishes chosen were therefore relatively simple and easy to prepare. We waited more than an hour to be served, scandalous!! In addition, in my salad there was a hair which, in addition to being unhygienic, is disgusting 🤢 the dishes were simple, the quality-price ratio was absolutely not respected. In conclusion, opt for a sandwich to enjoy this exceptional setting!

There are beautiful places in Switzerland. But the Arnensee is a special, beautiful place. The 7.00 francs for using the roads is definitely worth it. Very friendly service and a large selection of dishes 😊😊😊😊 The Arnensee is enchantingly beautiful. Hiking around the lake is also very nice. If you miss it, it's your own fault.

I went to the restaurant today to have dinner, and before 9pm they were closed. We paid 7 CFR to go up and the sign indicated that the restaurant was open. When we arrived at the restaurant it was already closed and the employees inside saw us and even turned off the outside lights. It should be noted that its closing time is until 11pm. I didn't like the attitude.

Great team, very friendly service, good food, more than just fair prices. Unfortunately, such restaurants are a rarity these days.

I ordered cream meringues and hot apple punch. They brought me CHANTILLY meringues and the punch was a glass of hot water and industrial powder, not good and cost 5.5 fr. Shocked, I explained my point of view to the waitress (not very friendly) then to the boss (just as unfriendly) who did not see the problem with the industrial punch being not good and overcharged. He finally reluctantly agreed not to charge me for it since I didn't drink it. I was poorly received and poorly served. A tourist trap!

Stunning spot! Away from it all. A slice of heaven

Firstly we had to wait a long time to be able to order drinks, not during meal times and with few tables occupied! The waitress saw us but she was more busy cleaning the ashtrays and closing the umbrellas than taking the order! Secondly, there is no such thing as decaffeinated coffee and thirdly, cappuccino comes with a fly in it, not very appetizing!!! Too bad because the place is magnificent!

After a tour of the Arnensee in mixed weather, a quick stop at Huus an Arnesee for a coffee. We finally chose to stay for dinner. Excellent fried fish fillets for Monsieur (not from the lake but from Rubigen) and generous summer salad for Madame. Careful dishes, welcome and top-notch service. Great experience. Practical for families with the playground just below😎

Nice place, nice terrasse with beautiful views of the lake. Service: busy but friendly. Food: unfortunately, we were quite underwhelmed. One sandwich was way too salty (almost inedible) and the bread was chewy, as if it had been microwaved (not toasted). Another one was simply quite flavorless. Fries were very ordinary (think common supermarket frozen fries). Salad was fine, but schnitzel was mediocre. Ice cream was unremarkable. Overall, too pricy for you get - I am sorry but honestly, you'd be better served bringing your own picnic/snacks to enjoy the scenery. It's a shame, because we used to go in the past and it was much better.

Since the change of ownership in June 2023, there has been a new, refreshing menu. The view of Lake Arnen sweetens the wonderful early summer afternoon on the inviting terrace.

Friendly service...comfortable...food offering could be a little more varied.

The place and lake are incredible, we love the restaurant, unfortunately we have only been disappointed in the last two years - today for the last time. After a tour of the lake, we wanted to enjoy the sun on the terrace and ordered something to drink with a portion of fries (4:03 p.m.). The very nice service employee informed us that she was no longer allowed to serve food. There were no more cakes either, so she suggested Kaiserschmarn. I said it also came from the kitchen, she just said the warm kitchen was closed. We ordered the Kaiserschmarn. The sun went away and we went to the restaurant. At 4:25 p.m. our table neighbors got fondue and bratwurst with fries. I then asked the employee why the fries etc. came from the hot kitchen? The chef de service or operations manager immediately intervened and said that orders were over at 4 p.m. and that your chef needed a break, and... and,... and. To every counter question she had a sometimes cheeky answer and always got louder. Then I asked if the Schmarn had already been made, otherwise I would like to cancel it, we paid and left. We are from the catering industry ourselves and understand and accept a lot - but we don't accept everything. It's really a shame, as locals we come to the lake once or twice a week. Unfortunately, we were disappointed every time we visited a restaurant, especially this year. Mostly mainly due to the quality of the food, where convenience unfortunately takes over. According to the waitress, even the tartare is pre-produced, which we recognized from the dark color of the meat. We would like to come more, but not under these circumstances. I don't even think the staff is the problem, it's the manager. If you don't have a bit of flexibility in this job, you're unfortunately in the wrong industry. Hopefully we will be able to be happy guests again in the Huus am Arnensee in 2023.

Great food, but please, update your menu on your website. It says you have wild meat with you autumn menu, but due to staff problems (since end of covid), your card is still limited to a few meals, and wild meat is NOT available. Came here for wild meat, so I left and went somewhere else.

An incredible place. Magnificent mountain lake of absolute calm. You have to pay to get there but only 5 francs and it's worth the detour. Small restaurants at the top which seem to offer good dishes. Hiking and everything that goes with it all around the lake. Please respect the place. No waste or cigarette butts.

Super gut Restaurant, I loved the service and above all the food the salads were super good another day also we ate flamkuke and ice cream and it was phenomenal. I will surely come back.

We just had something to drink. The food offering was limited due to a lack of staff and the time it took for the food to arrive was not compatible with the time available. But the service was prompt and very friendly. The restaurant is inviting and the terraces are spacious. One half is serviced, the other half is self-service.

Nice terrace overlooking the lake. Ate deliciously - also typical dishes on the menu. Friendly and prompt service. You can even rent pedalos and rowing boats.

The restaurant is of course in a great location on Lake Arnensee. Unfortunately there were only a few dishes due to a lack of staff, but there were several tarte flambées. The view of the lake is phenomenal.

Extremely pretty area and an absolute alternative to Lake Lauenen (45 minute walk around the lake, 75% in the forest). Very nice, attentive and courteous service. Please note that in Feutersoey there is a barrier where you have to pay the parking fee for Lake Arnen. CHF 5 and cash ONLY!!

Nice setting but little choice due to lack of staff. For a not-so-great fondue at exorbitant prices... look elsewhere, it's probably better!

The place is very pretty. Breathtaking view slightly overlooking the lake. Mini campsite above. Attentive and very friendly service. Unrefined but plentiful food.

Food was okay and very nice terrace. We didn't find out what the waiter's job was, but he made an effort and was always friendly, even when he was hopelessly overwhelmed.

Already no response to our hello when we arrive, we sit at a table so... 40 minutes to wait to hope to be served while the terrace is empty and even after having waved to him and he tells us that he arrives... well in the end we left without even having our order taken after 40 minutes! The waiter who takes care of other people arrives well after us, and when we decide to leave because we haven't been served and we point this out to him, he waves his hand at us and mutters something in roughly German " I don't care, don't worry" Clearly shameful! Never been received as poorly as here!

We are both in the business, I can understand a lot of things but the lack of respect and rudeness I do not accept. Too bad for such a beautiful place. We wanted to end on a pleasant moment, we left very angry and in total incomprehension. Service is a job, not a chore. If you are not able to treat people properly, you change jobs. unacceptable! We felt welcome, the food was delicious, the portions were good and the atmosphere invites you to linger. Very friendly staff and an extensive selection of local specialties.

To get to the restaurant and lake you have to pay 5 francs. A narrow and winding road. A lovely place. Hanania is free and plentiful, the restaurant is right on a lake, delicious food at reasonable prices (in relation to Tel Aviv port). There is a path around a lake. When we were there it was really busy and the waiters took a while to receive and bring an order. It is worth visiting in good weather.

Simply the perfect location to linger and pamper yourself until you drink and drink.

Very good food and very nice service. The view of the lake is magnificent. We wanted to go up with the motorhome the day before. After paying the CHF 5.00 for the barrier to open for the 5.5 km long, partly very narrow and steep road, a man told us in the third corner that the top was already full. There is only space for 5 motorhomes/campers etc. A day later we rode our bikes up into the beautiful mountains. It would be nice if it was clear below whether it has space or not. It's annoying when you drive up in your motorhome and there's no space.

Very friendly service but unfortunately the tarte flambée wasn't good at all. Way too dry... The next day we had a burger with fries, it was great :-)

We were at Arnensee for the second time to enjoy our vacation. The service at the Hüttenzauber is absolutely great! Everyone is always very friendly and very nice. The food is also very tasty and beautifully prepared. You never had to wait long for food. You could always find a spot even when it was full. We will definitely come here again!

A long climb between the toll and the lake But it's worth the detour

The best restaurant visit we have had in a long time! The terrace including table settings are very inviting. The view is impressive! We feel extremely comfortable right from the start! Our dog is also taken care of and receives fresh water. House aperitif drinks are a must! Delicious. We choose Burger & Fries and are not disappointed! The particularly delicious burgers and the fries are world class - that's exactly how they should be. We admire the beautiful ice cream creations that are served at the next table and know that we can't resist here. After the main course we are so full that we still go without. But we'll be back! :-) In the meantime, the chef even lovingly filleted, vacuum-sealed and returned our six trout cooled (we had forgotten the fillet knife at home) - what service! Super great crew - keep it up!
