Unfortunately pizza is not good

It is one of the few restaurants where I have been able to be seated without a reservation. A no-nonsense, very friendly and accomodating atmosphere. Service and food are very good. Reasonable prices too.

The food and the ambience are truly perfect! The only negative point is the service. The service staff was silent, they never asked if the food was tasty or anything else. Just the food served and cleared away. The service staff should try harder so that the guest also feels welcome.

Nice pizzeria with very friendly staff

We were able to celebrate our son's communion there last April. Everything was perfect! Food, staff with service. And the boss even made the cake himself and everyone was thrilled! Would recommend it again and again. Thanks again to the whole team for your great service! 👏🏻

A very nice restaurant with very tasty food. You'll find something for everyone to eat and it's simply delicious. We have never been disappointed, the service is great, the staff are very friendly and the atmosphere is very nice :) we also celebrated our civil wedding at il Faro and it was fantastic, we can only recommend it

Great location directly at the Herrliberg ship pier with a view of the lake. Lunch menu between CHF. 5.50 p.m. - 7.80 p.m. 3 different ones. With soup, salad main course and dessert! Great prices and performance on the right bank of Lake Zurich...

Food is good, except the pizzas. Very nice location with a view of the lake. The staff is pretty lousy, we asked for more water 3 times and it never arrived, we had to ask for the check twice before arriving 10minutes later. Maybe they had a lot to do but the restaurant didn’t seem that full. All in all very good pasta but the staff made the whole experience worse.

Good service - very nice staff.. Food is served quickly, price performance is top.. you definitely don't go home hungry as the portions are very generous.. Dessert menu is also varied and very tasty..

In the past we have celebrated ceremonies in the restaurant at the Faro and we ate well what came from the kitchen, but we never ate pizza. This evening we went to eat pizza, disappointment, first thing you understand that they are cooked in a round pan then without flavour, not even the slightest trace of tomato puree, spinach, ham without flavour, the mozzarella which was not mozzarella but something similar, me and my daughter was disappointed, nothing to do with the Italian pizza with tomato and fior di latte mozzarella

Pleasant restaurant with own parking. Very swiss-style Italian restaurant. Nothing fancy, just good food. We had a lasagna, which was good and a pizza prosciutto fungi, which was good too. The dessert card is mainly ice cream, which is fine. The service is fast and pleasant. The terrace has a sea view. The inside of the restaurant is beautiful too.

Very nice location and nice ambience with wonderful decorations, friendly staff, menu with a large selection. Unfortunately, on Mother's Day today, the staff was overwhelmed. The service was incredibly slow. It took forever for someone to come to show us the table. The waiting time for the menu and the food was also very long. In addition, our starters were completely forgotten. I understand that on a day when the restaurant is fully booked, everything is a little more hectic and takes longer. But at some point it becomes so limited that you either need more staff or you shouldn't fill all the tables. And forgetting starters is a major mistake, for which you could at least have apologized by offering coffee, for example. Unfortunately, the food didn't taste particularly good, it was pretty bland and greasy. Due to the beauty of the ambience and the friendliness of the staff, we will probably give Il Faro another chance to convince us on a less busy day.

Bruschetta were not crispy. My dish was ok, but not worth the price of almost 40.-. The pizzas looked good.

Exceptional management gets obvious in specific situations. Having picked-up some pizzas for my family one day, I recognised at home, that one of the pizzas was wrong. Upon calling per phone, the restaurant manager offered immediate replacement or a free pizza for my next order - I went for the latter, so, 2 weeks later, I ordered again without mentioning the offer for a free pizza. Upon picking up my pizzas then, I got, again without any remark from my side, one pizza for free and, when leaving the restaurant, the restaurant manager in person met me briefly to say, again, sorry for the inconvenience. I haven't awaited such a good response, so, I am impressed. Besides all, the pizzas are absolutely great!

I had the pleasure of dining at this restaurant. Wonderful location, it feels like being in a castle room with a view of stone. The appetizer with burrata and vegetables is very tasty and delicate. The tagliatelle dish was not only good and with a rich side dish but also beautiful to look at. Excellent service. Mrs. Carmen was very helpful, friendly and nice. He guided us from the choice of starter to dessert. What can I say... I am very satisfied with this place. And I will definitely return. Thanks again to Mrs. Carmen and all the staff. Sara M. I always went to Il Faro as a family and it was one of our favorite restaurants, we ate pasta and were happy. Unfortunately our last time was not the most pleasant, for me the 4 stagioni pizza is a pizza WITHOUT ANCHOVIES since in all the places where I have eaten it they have served it WITHOUT ANCHOVIES, but this time at Il Faro I ordered it without first reading The menu was what the waitress answered, I first had to read the menu and then find out that the 4 stagioni pizza is WITH ANCHOVIES... the problem is not that I don't like anchovies, the problem is the unkind response What the waitress gives you, it's practically "my" fault that the pizza came with anchovies and also bad luck that I don't like anchovies. ADVICE TO EVERYONE WHO GOES FOR A 4 STAGIONI PIZZA AT IL FARO: READ THE MENU BEFORE ORDERING

Great restaurant located 10 meters from the lac of zurich. The restaurant is amazing, the food is very good cooked and the staff is friendly. The garlicpizza which I had was outstanding. Tasted really good. Always nice to come back here. Highly recommanded.

I can highly recommend the spaghetti scoglio 👌 The staff is very friendly and helpful. The ambience in the restaurant brings holiday feelings and the cuisine impresses with a lot of love Detail. I always like to come to il Faro for lunch and treat myself to a short Italian vacation in Herrliberg.

Entering the restaurant shortly after two o'clock on a Sunday. The full menu selection was therefore no longer possible. We decided on the pizza. The quality, taste and crispiness deserve top marks. Black spots almost undetectable. Fine hot sauce available upon request. Probably one of the best pizzas in the entire canton, chapeau!

As always, we were very satisfied at Il Faro. The food was very good and the price-performance ratio was right. Gladly again😀

Been back to Il Faro for a long time. Great house wine, unfortunately very poor service. Boss (Buchmann) became very rude and unfortunately didn't behave as he should.

Delicious food at a very good price/performance ratio (for Lake Zurich standards). Several menus with something for every taste. The pizzas are good, but not “over the top”. Parking facilities are available. Interior decoration is very Mediterranean. Staff is friendly and works quickly. The waiting times are short. I will definitely eat there again.
