Bad food and bad service, everything needs to be changed!!!

Cost benefit ratio not convincing

The menu included truffle in most dishes however the rest of the food was poorly prepared and overpriced. The wait staff wasn't particularly friendly and overall wouldn't go there again.

Great lunch at Il Faro. Quality (and quantity) at the top. Kind and friendly service. We warmly recommend it.

There were three of us, dinner menus were between 21 and 25. At the end we paid 100 Fr. The question is: the espresso and tiramisu that were served to us, was that the difference in the price?, wouldn't it be better to inform us about that.. .. Oh well! Therefore, unfortunately I cannot give a review.

The open Galzone as a daily menu was too sweet for me... whatever the reason... But next time I'll order a Napoli pizza, as real Italians they'll definitely do a better job. Sono sicuro e grazie tanto 👍

Very tasty food, I'll always come back

The back room (Sälchen) was promised for a family celebration. When we arrived, our family was spread out along the entrance! Conversations impossible and constant harassment from passing guests and staff. I mentioned to the usher that I had been promised the hall. He casually said that he was in charge here. We used to come here often, and we often ordered food privately and with the school (in Glattbrugg). Since then we have been meeting at another restaurant.

I've been coming there every now and then since 1985 and I still like it. Friendly service with humor, fine food and had a nice time with friends. Thanks to the team

Pizza are excellent and service too but small déception on the pasta, for me the pasta was not freshly cooked based on the texture

When we got in the door we had to wait a bit, but after that we got a good seat. The service was friendly and helpful. We got bruschetta as an amuse bouche which made us very happy. The bottle of wine came a little early because we hadn't finished our aperitif drink yet. The food portions were generous. In terms of taste, we found the starter salad with mushrooms to be okay, although I think there were a bit too many hot mushrooms on the fresh lamb's lettuce. It just didn't look as tasty anymore and the salad underneath became soggy. The main courses were similarly carelessly garnished. My partner enjoyed the Saltimbocca. I had a stuffed veal schnitzel. The filling was with fresh cucumbers, tomatoes, capers and olives. Plus a cream sauce and rice. In my opinion, the taste didn't go together at all. A dish that I would not recommend to anyone. Sounds strange, doesn't it? - I reported it back to the waitress. All in all it was a nice evening. We were served friendly and fed generously. From a culinary point of view, however, it was really a bit disappointing and a bit too expensive for the quality offered (approx. 190.-).

I absolutely loved the Il Faro restaurant! The service staff were extremely friendly and accommodating, and my order was taken promptly and served quickly. The tiramisu was simply delicious and the portion was generous. The Italian coffee creation was a dream and perfectly rounded off the culinary experience. The atmosphere in the restaurant was pleasant and inviting. I can fully recommend Il Faro if you're looking for fantastic service, delicious tiramisu and excellent Italian coffee!

Easter menu uniquely good Insalata di asparagi con fragile (asparagus pieces, strawberries and cherry tomatoes) Capretto al forno (Gitzi from the oven) and finally panna cotta. We recommend! I am happy!!

Unfortunately, I was disappointed by the restaurant on Saturday evening. I felt really stressed. As soon as we sat down, the server came and she wanted an aperitif, something to eat, something to drink. Then it really started with real stress when ordering the food, barely finished The dessert menu had already been eaten. After the dessert there was nothing left after we waved to the serving lady and we were able to order another coffee. Then there was nothing left and there was nothing else that we wanted to ask... The spaghetti also really wore off dry and garlicky with no taste whatsoever. Unfortunately, we decided that this was the last time we would eat there.

The prices are absolutely exorbitant. They actually charge 27.90 for a pizza (standard size) in a tray from an electric oven. Unfortunately the quality is below average. We definitely won't be coming back. Our own employees are also encouraged to give 5 stars. I find this behavior quite pathetic...

The food is always delicious, the service is friendly and always up for a joke. Even a birthday in a small group was a wonderful experience. Thanks to the Il Faro team. We'd love to come back!

Fine food, one star deducted because of the prices

Jan 13, 2023 7:00 p.m Despite reminding us three times, we had to wait 40 minutes for the bill. Pizza tastes in the lower standard and is in the top price range (Pizza Diavolo 28.50.-) We're definitely not coming back

We made a reservation and mentioned when we made the reservation that someone had celiac disease. When we were there we ordered a gluten-free pizza and a pizza plus a salad for the person who has celiac disease. We asked the waiter if everything we ordered was gluten-free for one person. The answer yes yes. As a greeting from the kitchen we were given Bruscetta, which was certainly not gluten-free. We asked again is the salad gluten-free, again yes. Unfortunately, the next day the celiac person had side effects, which we complained about. The nice person on the phone (yelled at me) said we always have to ask for the chef de service. This behavior simply doesn't work if you unfortunately don't have enough trained staff then you should offer what you can. We are very disappointed with the reaction and it shows that the customer is not the focus here.

Nevertheless, I once again experienced great service led by the boss and sometimes also by their deputy. I recently celebrated my birthday and lo and behold, everything from the starter to the dessert was great. The preparation; It couldn't have been fresher and with an excellent baccalà meal! One would have thought we were in Cesenatico. As mentioned at the beginning, it simply couldn't be more authentic, from the ambience to the professionalism of the service and the cooking skills of the chef. Just great and keep it up! Recommended and grade 5 -. There always has to be an increase😀

Unfortunately, delivery service leaves a lot to be desired. At peak times the pizza can often arrive 30-40 minutes late. However, the problem has existed for over 10 years. Unfortunately, this has increased in my recent orders and of the last 6 orders, 4 have arrived over 30 minutes late. Unfortunately, twice, especially the last time, the pizzas were cold and hard or baked too tightly. The only reason I kept ordering despite the delays was because of the quality. Since this was insufficient twice in a row and was delayed, I will avoid the delivery service in the future and give another pizzeria a chance. However, I will still visit the restaurant when I have the opportunity, as the problems mentioned should not arise there.

Today for a farewell dinner again at Il Faro. My companion really wanted a pizza. Il Faro spontaneously came to mind. Starter mixed salad was fine, salad just. I was even more excited about the pizza. For me it was clearly a wrong order. Far too greasy, strange to eat, soggy bottom, just not tasty. Very unfortunate. But I should have complained on the spot. Due to time constraints I didn't do it. Unfortunately.

Wir haben frühzeitig reserviert und wurden zu einem 2er-tisch geführt. Die Gartenterrasse ist mit den Abschrankungen aus dem Restaurant bestückt. Nach der Bestellung, wie immer das Selbe, wurde uns ein 4er-tisch an der Sonne zugewiesen, da sonst zu wenig Platz zur Verfügung gestanden wäre. Wie gesagt die Bestellung wie immer. 2 x gemischter Salat french, 3 x Drago (1 x im Karton für Montag), 1 x Mineral mit, 1 x Fl. Vino rosso, Dessert Tiramisu und Coup Choggo. Der gemischte Salat war etwas einfacher gehalten, viel geschnittener Eisberg und andere Salate. Alles Andere war wie immer einfach super und nach dem Lookdown erst recht.

Wenn wir im Il Faro essen gehen, nehmen wir immer das selbe, einfach weil wir es uns so sehr schmeckt. Unser Standartmenu "gemischter Salat, Pizza Drago und eine Flasche Vino Nobile" und vorab eine Stang, sowie Mineralwasser mit. Zum Dessert individuell, für mich ein Tiramisu und für meine Frau ein "kleiner" Schokoladencup, dazu zwei Espresso. Schade, dass man von der sehr netten und freundlichen Servicedame nur die Augen sah. Herzlichen Dank!
