Pizza salami and the dessert were not edible! The pizza had a bad smell of bad salami and the dessert was burnt! never again

Had the lasagne, which I can't recommend because it was very salty and otherwise tasted absolutely nothing like lasagne. However, the others really enjoyed their food and were satisfied.

The pizza doesn't do justice to the beautiful restaurant, I expected an original Italian pizza, nice, light dough, and good mozzarella. I received a pizza that couldn't be distinguished from a pizza I ordered from the kebab man, dough extremely thin like a crepe, the cheese was way too much and also dark. Anyone looking for a Neapolitan or normal Italian pizza will unfortunately be disappointed here.

During our visit to the said restaurant we encountered a very disappointing situation. Even though we had made a reservation by phone in advance, we were forced to wait 45 minutes before we were even allowed to place our order. Surprisingly, the restaurant was almost empty at this point, which made the long wait even more incomprehensible. Because of this significant delay, we ended up running out of time to eat. When we decided to just stick with the Coke we had ordered and not order any food, the waiter rather abruptly told us to leave the restaurant. This treatment was completely inappropriate and disappointing. Overall it was a disastrous experience that will prevent us from visiting this restaurant again in the future. The restaurant could definitely have its charm if it weren't for the waiter, whose behavior unfortunately leaves a lot to be desired. His manner significantly mars the overall experience and is in stark contrast to what one would expect from an established catering establishment.

Nice rustic atmosphere but the whole thing is pretty cramped. Service good Pizza is not typically Italian. Dough after finished pizza with little taste. So a pizzeria restaurant certainly doesn't fit the concept either. enough free parking spaces 👍

For the third time we were able to have our Christmas dinner at Il Faro. As before, it was sensationally good. Price performance is excellent, food including dessert is also excellent. The service was also absolutely perfect and highly professional. We would like to come again. A great team. Thank you very much.

I'm always amazed at how the staff at this place are both efficient and friendly. It's packed here at lunchtime, but it's still quick and the service staff are even in the mood to joke... Not to mention, the quality of the food is also impeccable.

Cozy pizzeria with a varied menu. Two new daily menus every day at moderate prices. The service is always very nice and accommodating. There are enough parking spaces directly behind the pizzeria, and more in the directly adjacent military parking lot.

We had stroganoff in the group, which was about 500g fillet for 3 people... The stroganoff was very tasty and the waiter tried very hard. The beef carpaccio was also good... Actually, the evening was almost perfect until dessert... unfortunately there was nothing sugar or gluten-free so I took a few raspberries... there was also no unsweetened cream... and in my opinion they also didn't want to try to find a solution. There were about 7 edible raspberries on the plate for a whopping 9,- The entire evening was close to 400,- and they had to charge 7 raspberries... sorry, but as delicious as the stroganoff was, we will Avoid this location in the future.

Haven't eaten here yet, but had a coffee in the Baar and the ambience is beautiful, definitely not my last visit to il Faro. The service is also very friendly and organized.

Il Faro has been a safe place to eat for years and we weren't disappointed.

We were there for lunch. There are two menu or a la carte options to choose from. The menu includes a starter, salad, main course and a dessert. The food and service are very good and we can highly recommend this restaurant. Would love to come back.

Pizzas, salads, desserts are ok to good. The service is dissatisfied. A waiter made a comment when he hadn't yet chosen what he wanted to eat: "Everyone else knew what they wanted, but he didn't." Billings, critical. Employees roll their eyes when you want to pay individually. In addition, the total sum of the individual statements is always 20-30 higher than the total sum of the cash register. Close control is important here; calculations seem to be a matter of luck. Even if you bill groups individually at the checkout, it is never correct. It is always invented for this purpose.

Spontaneous visit on Sunday evening. 2x pizza, which were served very quickly (too quickly). We hadn't even chosen the wine yet. Unfortunately the pizza dough was soggy and not at all crispy. Price-performance ratio is no longer right. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful.

Very nice and rustic atmosphere. We made a reservation by phone and everything went wonderfully. Even with the children's chair. The food was tasty, but not outstanding in my opinion. The service and approach to our three kids was very accommodating.

Very flexible, friendly, very good food selection. At lunchtime the food is served quickly. The tables are very close to each other, so there is hardly any privacy. Hence the small deduction for ambience.

Lasagna was extremely salty. The service was nice, but what really annoyed me was that the waiter asked every 10-15 minutes if he could clear away my food. In the end I was so annoyed that I told him to take it with him. You can’t eat “quickly” after gastric surgery. ;) Glace Sardana 5 stars!

A real grotto in the Zurich area. Great menu and outstanding service

Last Saturday the four of us had dinner. 1 liver with risotto. 3x pizza. Waited almost 2 hours. Dry liver, risotto with stale skin. Pizza not crispy. Amarone with cones. Apero 4x Martini = rather empty glass with lots of ice. Salad = OK. As compensation 4x panacotta. That was very good. We're not going there anymore. We then communicated. The excuse; they would have had a lot of takeaways. Huh?

Good cuisine, nice service. Unfortunately, a dessert was 'lost' between the order and the kitchen.

Unfortunately, completely incompetent staff when it comes to allergens! The waiter didn't think it was important to take my question about allergens seriously and served me dishes containing gluten despite asking several times!! Absolutely incompetent! After replying to the restaurant the next day, a lady wanted to lecture me on the phone!! Why do I even order anything with gluten! I asked several times and the waiter assured me there was no gluten!! But if you have no idea about the subject, you shouldn't offer anything! Ultimately, asking for an exorbitant surcharge is a disgrace!

In itself a well-equipped restaurant. But charging 80 francs for a three-course meal including two sweet drinks is far more than the pain threshold, even when it comes to Christmas. I had to prepare something for myself at home afterwards because I wasn't even full. There were mini portions for all courses. I had to go find the sauce for the salad. For the main course, the potato gratin was about the size of 2 tablespoons, and the panettone cake was only the size of a tablespoon.

Visit to the grotto. Very attentive service and very fine food. The ambience is old-fashioned and is very disproportionate to the quality of the service and food.

The restaurant is very large and furnished with lots of bells and whistles. The lunchtime service is usually busy, but is reasonably efficient. The food is ok, but nothing special. The pizzas are prepared in trays, which means they are uniform in size, but don't really have the typical wood-fired oven taste. Price ok.

Were there for dinner on November 9, 2022 at 6:00 p.m., all 9 people were on time. Beforehand, we had an aperitif at the bar. The order in the restaurant was only taken after about 1/4 hour. The food order was taken after we had already drunk the drink, an absolute disgrace, just a rip-off. The pizzas were good, but way too expensive. All in all, a place that really isn't recommended.

Today I had the pleasure of being able to eat the lunch menu in the Grotto. Starter: Bresaola with rocket & parmesan, main course: lamb with herb coating and risotto. Even the presentation on the plates was a highlight! And I can't remember ever eating such good lamb. Delicate as butter and fried to perfection. And the waiter perfected the whole impression. Brilliant and absolutely recommended!

The minestrone was different than expected but still good.

A fine Italian restaurant with typical Italian food. You also have to know that this is the best tiramisu in the world - so be sure to order and enjoy! At a birthday, the birthday child is also greeted with a surprise. There is plenty of free parking space in front of the restaurant. We always enjoy coming here!

Good Italian food and nice service. Prices have developed... We have been regular guests for years and enjoy the family atmosphere.

Unfortunately, pizza wasn't anything worth mentioning, just about average, lasagna was good. Beautiful outdoor terrace and friendly service, typically Italian atmosphere.

Il Faro is one of the best Italian restaurants in the Zurich Oberland, and also offers an excellent price-performance ratio.

From the reception to the farewell, everything was great! The Pizza del Mese was very tasty and the homemade tiramisu at the end was also very tasty!😋 We can highly recommend Il Faro on Wangenerstrasse. A warm greeting to Mirco and his team 🙋🏽‍♂️
