Very good food, we ate well, the portions were a little small for my taste as far as table service is concerned there are improvements to be made for a starred restaurant, I have never seen in a 1 star restaurant a waiter passing me the arm from the left and under the nose at home yes instead of a service from the right of customers. And good manners of a star service nor its not.

Always a pleasure to go to Il Lago, excellent food and impeccable service, I recommend!

The menu we were given only had wine by the glass, 100 francs/glass! Only when we complained did the waiter give us another wine menu, saying the best wines were on the original menu. The spaghetti tasted like it was out of a can. Even though “service complis,” the waiters asked for additional tips. Hang on to your wallet and avoid at all costs!

I went to Il Lago restaurant a week ago for the first time. Despite an old fashionned room, the team was really warmful and kind. The food was ok. Kudos to the Maitre D, Alicia, for the little intentions and her smile. We will come back.

For 200 CHF per person with 2 dishes and 2 glasses of wine, this is unacceptable. If most of the servers were competent and friendly, a waitress in a colorful purple outfit (or frame??) was unpleasant and unsmiling. The fish that we tasted as a starter and as a main course (caught sea bass), were very average, for a so-called Michelin star. We will not return there.

Everything felt like reheated first class aeroplane food. Lifeless and underwhelming.

That this restaurant has a Michelin star is shocking. Starters - veal tartare, beet root salad etc were ok. 3 of us ordered the tagletoni. All found it overcooked and even with white truffle at best mediocre. Sea bass were also just ok. I person enjoyed the lamb. We liked the apple desert. Tiramisu with lemon - was interesting and the mix grows on you. But truly astonishing was that they served 6 meals. The 7th meal (one of the two sea bass orders) was served 20 minutes later. Other than a perfunctory - oh! Sorry - no real sense of regret. No appologies to the host - serving staff behaved as if this was not an unusual event. Mediocre food. Mediocre service.

I have been to Il Lago multiple times over the past 10 years. My recent experience on Nov 10 was a bit disappointing. First, there were three of us and they gave us the wrong entrees. We all thought what they served looked a bit odd from what we each had ordered, but we believed that they would have gotten the orders correctly since it is a Michelin star restaurant. They told us after we finished the entrees that they mixed up the orders. No replacements were offered. Then, after we finished the main courses, the waiter was cleaning up the crumbs and accidentally spilt water all over my friend's side of the table and all over his pants. Very unfortunate because this is not what I would expect from a Michelin star restaurant.

Food was well presented, however dining experience ruined as taster menu is served to share for two therefore the whole point of good food presented well is lost. You get 3 starters made with individual flavours and sauces (poured in front of your eyes) and then you put on your single plate that is not changed mixing all sauces together. I liked 1.5 out of 8 dishes. Lamb main tasted great, but aftertaste was horrible. Then came weirdest tiramisu loaded with lemon jelly that killed every flavour left in my mouth (including bad lamb dish aftertaste). Service was good. Interior cheap. Seating comfortable. Table rigidity was a complete miss as even cutting meat resulted in table legs shifting and sliding apart making table wobble. Atmosphere was stiff - probably due to the linear table arrangement. Definitely not returning there.

First time dining at a Michelin-started restaurant and it was truly incredible from the moment we sat down to when we left. You are immediately greeted by a friendly staff member with a selection of champagnes. The one we chose was phenomenal. Next, a man comes with a wine menu, and he seems to know the menu front and back. We ordered an amazing red wine. House-made focaccia and a chef’s welcome plate are next. We ordered the tasting menu since it was our first experience and thoroughly enjoyed every single dish. The amount of time and thought that is put into each dish is obvious. The flavors and combinations are immaculate. The lamb was the shining star- truly one of the best things I’ve ever tasted. I took each bite slowly, not wanting it to end. Even the dessert was top notch. Paired with the exceptional food, the service really made this experience worth five stars. The entire time you are treated as if you are the only patrons in the dining room. The service team works like a well-practiced orchestra. Everything is perfectly timed to make your dining experience as perfect as possible. There was not a singular flaw. We were incredibly impressed. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone spending time in Geneva- it will surely be an experience I’ll never forget.

Ordered the tasting menu. Everything is what you expect from the michelin-star restaurant: great service, unusual tasting experience. Here most of the experience comes from the sauces that you get with the dishes. They change the taste in an unexpected matter, for example, there was a ham with the tuna sauce. Never before I could expect that a meat and a fish could taste great with each other :)

My tip would be to enjoy their set lunch offerings, reasonably priced but still high end cooking! A year on and I, unfortunately, have to say that there is a too large staff-turn-around thus for those who come regularly, not as familiar as it was. Although the food served stays at high level, annoying is that the 'freebees' at the start have been downgraded to a little pizza snack and a bowl of small fried fish, over and over again, despite us sending it back every time we come. I wonder whether we end up searching for another favorite?

Extraordinary experience! As soon as we entered this restaurant, we felt good and above all, we felt that the service and the cuisine would be of quality. From the starter, through the main courses and desserts, we had the impression of a moment suspended in time.

We clearly recognize the Italian charm and chic in this decor. Our son has a restaurant in Lausanne, we don't usually go blindly and we were really inspired this time. Perfect.

Doesn't deserve a star at all. It's an Italian restaurant. Unsurprisingly, no creativity, pasta and cold scallops. No variety of good breads or gressini like we want to eat. The service is expeditious. The white nose remains on the marble condole but no one offers it. On the other hand, we are served tasteless black truffles without any interest. The magic is not at Il Lago. You just pay for the place and it’s overpriced.

The service was great and the food was amazing. The surf and swamp was great and the alligator tail had great flavor. The beef stroganoff was perfect and tasted like home cooking. They have a great chef! Also, the drink "Ma'am, That's Unsolicited" was very good! I will definitely be going back.

Really great food at this Michelin starred Italian restaurant. On this day the weather was great and you can sit outside on their large terrace. The tomato risotto was the absolute highlight and one of best risottos I have tasted. The wine list is excellent but the restaurant is a bit pricey but still what you would expect for a restaurant inside the Four Seasons Hotel. The service was pretty good in general but can only give the restaurant 4 of 5 as they made a big NO-NO. The waiters insists on pouring your wine, but when the waiters don’t have the time/skill to keep an eye on the tables and you have to ask them 3 times to pour the wine then this “ service “ gets to be a bit pointless!! But would definitely go back!!
