Italia in Biel/Bienne

Italian cuisine at its finest. Like in an upscale restaurant in Italy. Not just the usual dishes that you can get everywhere, but also regional specialties that are less well known and all the better. The restaurant is well-kept, the service led by Michelangelo is very attentive and Domenico conjures up his delicacies in the kitchen. When the temperatures are warm, the terrace in the front garden on the Schüss canal is tempting. Highly recommended!

Excellent Italian cuisine, delicious recommended wines, attentive and smiling service staff, well done! And an exceptional fact to highlight: the free carafe of tap water! Great service all round. We are already looking forward to going back! Only downside: very noisy room.

Simply excellent. Great negroni's, wine and authentic food. A busy 'full house' on a Saturday night but we 6 were well served and enjoyed it all. Definitely returning next time in Biel.

I ate a good pizza. I ate here 3 times. The pizza was burned twice. Service is ok, the place is clean and nice.

I reserved a table for 8:15 p.m. 3 days before I wanted to eat there. When we arrived everything was full. The waiter said that I had made a reservation at 9pm and was adamant about it, very arrogant if you were wrong. 1 table was still free, but they didn't want to give it, there would be a table available in 5 minutes, I think, after waiting 10 minutes we left. It would also be helpful to speak a little German if you run a restaurant in Biel, but making reservations in French didn't help either, so I'm wondering how you're supposed to communicate with the staff!?!? I cannot recommend this restaurant at all and I will never set foot there again... weak and disappointed with the behavior of the staff, especially the waiter!

Fantastic! Real italian, really in Biel! Typical italian taste with fresh ingredients and a lot of Italian style 😋. I can only recommend. Caution: it gets very busy very quickly, so better book in advance. It can be a bit too noisy, but the owner told me that he's looking for a solution.

A single waiter who spoke German and yet constantly switched to Italian. Either he is very forgetful or did it specially. All the other waiters understood neither German nor French. Older lady just wanted something to drink but the boss personally refused even though only 3 tables were occupied. You couldn't order 2 menus even though they were offered on the menu. Maybe it is recommended for people who understand Italian. And even here, with every criticism, the owner has an excuse for everything.

Overpriced food. Bold waiters who try to sell you a wine you don't want. Instead of veal sausage meat, as written on the menu, I was served minced meat. And if you order a coffee on another day at 2 p.m. when there are only 6 guests left, you'll be told: We only serve food! Never again.

Good pizza, poor service. The waiters respond in Italian when we speak to them in French or German, which leaves us doubting whether they understood us or not. It is obvious that they are either not enough waiters or not qualified enough to handle that many tables. No organization with table assigned to this or that server. Everyone is running everywhere... 30 minutes and 3x request to be able to pay is not normal...

I'm here for the first time. I can't believe that arugula salad wasn't washed, full of dirt, and that was two times. Meat with porcini mushroom sauce has no taste of porcini mushrooms at all. I hope the restaurant would pay more attention to cleanliness.

One of the best pizzas! New in the “Pizza Conchiglia” range A creative pizza from the master: Folded pizza filled with fresh prawns, rocket, lukewarm mozzarella and high-quality tuna. Decorated with Bresaola and grated Parmigiano. Recommended. Of course, most of the employees only speak Italian, but I think this gives the final Italian touch!! Keep it up!

Excellent pasta all'arrabiata pn the very nice outside terrace. I asked them to add some cream to make it "pink" sauce and it was delicious.

Beautiful terrace with shady trees in the middle of Biel. Mediterranean atmosphere, great and friendly service, very good, almost like “Mamma” and….best pizzas in town. Be sure to reserve a spot on the terrace in advance on beautiful summer evenings! Grazie ragazzi and a presto!

However, I'm taking away a star because we really had the impression of being annoying... the "chief" of the waiters who looked askance at everyone and didn't smile at anyone this evening for 2 hours. Best pizza in Biel. With distance. Dough with the ultimate flour mixture and 48 hour fermentation is simply awesome. Also do take-away. The staff are loving, friendly, quick and humorous. I'm happy about the restaurant here in Biel.

Come to eat with family: really limited service.... the waiter who doesn't say good evening and who asks directly what we want to eat... glasses arriving after the drinks, a plate missing, the pizza to take away in a ball in aluminum foil... in short I I didn't like the atmosphere at all this evening. Expensive for this service. Too bad the pizza is not bad and the setting is pretty.

We spontaneously tried to make a reservation and luckily got a table for the same evening. We ordered various pizzas and pasta with seafood. Everything was very tasty and freshly prepared. The boss took care of the customers himself and everyone was very attentive and friendly. Language was also not a barrier, as previously feared. The majority of the staff speaks Italian, but you can also understand each other without knowing Italian.

I have been coming to this restaurant for years and the quality and courtesy are constant. The new menu has included very interesting dishes that are a pleasure to try. The pizza is Italian-proof! Tonight the 'pizza chef's fantasy' pizza (aubergines two ways, porcini mushrooms and parmesan) was so good that I always want it on the menu. Thank you! And don't miss trying the tiramisu, it won't disappoint you.
