The food is delicious, the portion sizes are okay. The fries are crispy and well seasoned. For vegetarians, the choice is more than sparse: cheese platter, salad, fries or vegetable burger - that's about all! The desserts are also amazing (egg liqueur ice cream!). Quite expensive for a broom stain. The service is warm and friendly (I think it's OK to be called by you) and the view, in contrast to the rest of the ambience, is just great!

Cozy casual restaurant with a great view of the Untersee. Large, shaded terrace. Especially recommended when the weather is nice or at least dry. There is a simple cuisine or just a dessert. A walk/hike into the Jochental is particularly recommended. Very easy from & to Steckborn or with a small incline & a few steps in the forest from & to Berlingen. Also easily accessible by bike or by car during the week (free parking spaces). No children's playground, but still entertaining with a short detour to the sheep and chickens. Dogs welcome - the farm dog himself is very sweet and is used to other four-legged friends.

On today's bright Sunday afternoon, July 17th, 2022, we are hiking from Steckborn to the hill where the Besenbeiz Jochental is located and offers us a phenomenal view over the Untersse. There is a slight breeze, we order a white wine, then the minced lamb patties and finally the egg liqueur ice cream. Everything tastes excellent because it is homemade and prepared and served with love. The service is extremely courteous and prompt. Giulia Paris serves us with a warm smile and is happy for us that we like it so much up here. Dear Jochental team, we will definitely come back and recommend this spot to everyone who is looking for quiet enjoyment and that certain but crucial bit of authenticity, which is unfortunately so few and far between today.
