The egg roll adventure in Ebnet-Kappel I thought Easter Monday, what better way to start the day than with a delicious egg roll? Ebnet-Kappel seemed perfect for this - after all, 8:03 a.m. is the perfect time for a late breakfast or an early second breakfast - depending on how you look at it. Well, the "welcome" was more of a whispered greeting from the universe, as it was probably both too early and too Monday for human enthusiasm. Present were an older woman and a younger man who, it seemed, were still wiping the night from the corners of their eyes, while the surroundings still exuded a peaceful chaos of "we'll fix it." “It’s no problem,” I thought to myself, determined to indulge my craving for an egg feast. The question about the egg roll was promptly answered with a "Yes, we have, wait a minute..." and lo and behold, the lady conjured up a transport container full of sandwiches. “Two please,” I said. What followed was a performance of unexpected entertainment value: with a precision that would have rivaled an origami artist, she pressed the first roll into a plastic bag that was obviously intended for a miniature version of the same. The egg filling literally burst out with joy on all sides. When I suggested that you could also use a cardboard box, the epiphany came. "Oh yes, that's a good idea!" the lady replied and promptly fetched it. But just at that moment of hope, she returned with a wet rag just to use it to wipe away the egg mess. My inner Mona Lisa smile smiled sardonically, anticipating what happened next: she wiped the mess away with the wet rag and - without a single thought about hygiene - reached for it with her wet, probably barely germ-free hands the second egg roll, put it in the box and did the same for a mozzarella roll, which happily found its way into a paper bag. As if that wasn't enough hospitality, I asked for a liter of orange juice. “Just get whatever you want from the fridge yourself,” was the answer I received. Service per excellence - self-service included. Those who understand irony will smile now, those who don't may simply not want to. Clearly the rolls, whose last journey was soberingly accompanied by dripping wet hands, ended up in the bin (may the company forgive me!). Because at the Brötchenbrutschung show I just asked myself: If the handing out of the works of art is so creative, what would the production look like? As an avid supporter of local businesses, I always try to look at the positive, even when the pressure is great - but especially in challenging times, cleanliness, quality and friendliness should be the armor through which no virus or dissatisfaction penetrates. It's a shame, Ebnet-Kappel, this time you missed the ball a bit. Best regards, a local.

There were eight of us on Tuesday, March 26th. around 900h in the café. We were pleased with how friendly we were welcomed and served. The peaks are fresh, the coffee is hot and has a good aroma. We'll be back on our hikes! E. Graf

I was in the cafe yesterday. The waitress was a bit plump (you can also dress a little more flatteringly) and was wearing a dirty, tight-fitting T-shirt. And kindness seems to be a foreign word. The toilet was clean.

I've been able to enjoy the peaceful atmosphere with a coffee and something delicious for a snack at Kafihus 12 a few times. As usual, I ordered my ☕ Café etc. When I couldn't take a bite of the priest's hat, I broke it in half. At first I couldn't believe it, the nut filling was covered in green mold. As soon as I nibbled it I had a strange feeling and a bad taste. At first I was a little ashamed, helpless and also angry in my head and stomach. When I showed the pastry to the waitress, she apologized and offered me something else that I wanted. At first I refused, no wonder. 😒 To make up for it, I thought I would definitely be treated to something delicious and the currant tart tasted good too. If I have to cover the cost of the moldy Pfaffenhut, I will share my experience of yesterday's Café in the review. That's why I'm writing this review, otherwise this review would have been published in a better light 👎👎👍

Yesterday I was at Cafe Abderhalden in Ebnat-Kappel. I have to write this review because it was really horrible. The waitress, a full-figured person (NOT meant to be body shaming!), was sweating so much during her exertion. The back of her white blouse was completely wet, there were huge drops of sweat on her face, so she was really just waiting for it to drip into the coffee that was getting ready. He often ran his hand around his face because of all the sweat and then touched the coffee cups and glasses where people were drinking and touched the baked goods without gloves. I was able to see all of this because I had to wait at the counter for a long time. On top of everything, she was extremely unfriendly. Either way, that's not possible! This is totally ANGRY and I just felt sorry for the people who were served everything. No company needs such a figurehead!!! I WILL NOT COME AGAIN!

Everyone knows the situation: you come into a restaurant and say “Grüezi” loudly and then? Everyone is looking at you and you don't hear anything. That's definitely over in this café. A young man works here, a super talent! Within half an hour he sold ten strawberry tarts just because he recommended it to people. I just say one thing: “that’s marketing” :-) When I came last Friday, there was one last seat available for me in the café. The young waiter served everything himself, quickly, competently and perfectly. The coffee was fine and the rhubarb crumble cake was delicious. Afterwards the restaurant emptied again and within 20 minutes it was full again. One woman even came twice, especially because of the young man. He brings people together. Nobody sits alone anymore. Suddenly everyone is talking to each other, just because he initiated it all. Every restaurant and café is lucky to have such an employee. Bravo, keep it up :-)

There was a gentleman in the cafe with a large dog, the dog suddenly came to my table and tried to eat my sandwich, the dog's owner didn't even apologize, the staff showed no interest, at least a little respect for customers would be necessary good. I'm not sure if I want to consume anything there again.

We were there on a Saturday. Cream slices thawed, cream was flaky. Coffee tasted stale (open for too long, flavors were smoky). There was a great coffee machine there and the coffee supplier was also good according to the cups! Complained to the employee, his not the only... card left. An email was sent to the main store in the evening. No reaction either. I'll never go into a branch again...

Unfortunately, a service person has no idea about money and is not able to collect money properly from a commissioner. Either too much was released or too little and not just once. Unfortunately, unfortunately not a math genius.

(Especially if you have ordered ice cream and other drinks for the whole family) It's a shame, but an example of how the Swiss catering industry is shooting itself over the edge. Addendum: You really need the water because the espresso tastes very, very average.
