Käserei in Murten

Had a very traditional German sounding dish ( Rindsbacken = Beef Cheeks) with Polenta. This turned out to be a heavenly dish. The sauce is decadent the White Polenta out of this world, the beef melts in your mouth and staff is friendly and attentive. There is nothing stuffy or snobbish in this place even though they could get away with it. Will definitely be going back.

Absolutely delicious food in the perfect size, very nice service, accommodating to my vegan sister's wishes, excellent wines... one point deducted because my request for a little something was not taken into account because of two birthdays (we are twins)...

The food was really very good! The tasting menu was accompanied by wine with very well-selected wines and always an explanation for each one. The service was very attentive. Nice, simple furnishings, everything was clean, it was just a little noisy. Overall great!

Cheesecake, salmon with saffron cream, veal cheeks, veal milk, and kidney pieces offer a wonderful combination of fine dining and hearty cuisine. It is served by a young and motivated team.

So I was here for a company dinner. The staff was freindly, and the atmosphere was bright and welcoming. There was not a very large menue selection but everyone found something although it was a bit pricey. I had fish and asked for a different veg mix. They prepared a wonderful mix that suited the dish. There were many other patrons this evening as well.

Pretty little terrace in a quiet and very charming street. The whole team is very friendly and on the plate... a real treat! A coherent menu of regional products that makes you want to come back.

My cordon bleu was really tasty, also considering the quantity, and definitely recommended: grade 4.6 My wife's small portion of ravioli was very tasty, grade 5, but the quantity was less than little. Even a 7 year old child would hardly have been full. A bottomless impudence. Criticism was not accepted. That's also an appetizer. But this was not declared as such. And 32 francs for 50 g of ravioli is absurd. Grade for quality x quantity = 2.

This also has its absolutely justified price. - The only thing that didn't inspire me was the espresso, but that's almost always the case in Switzerland.

Congratulation to the chef, the food was really great! The only sad side was the service, no attention to the Guests, no asking to drink an Apéro when arriving, not minded for the first 10 to 15 minutes. The water to drink always had to be requested, since they didn‘t left the bottles on the table. We would have consumed much more but felt like we are a disturbing factor.

Exceptional. On holiday for a few days in this wonderful location we want to dine in some particular restaurant in the small town of Murten. We then make an online reservation on their website. Arriving at dinner time, the restaurant outside is very nice and elegant, we enter and are immediately welcomed with a smile and they confirm our reservation, offering us the opportunity to dine in the room we want. In fact, the restaurant has a rustic and elegant room with wooden tables and chairs and a more elegant one with tables and comfortable armchairs. There is also the possibility of eating on the outside terrace, but unfortunately the storms that evening prevented this. As an entry we ordered a salmon trout ceviche which was out of this world, an explosion of truly excellent tastes on the palate. My wife took a slice of fresh lake fish with a side of boiled potatoes and cauliflower, I instead had the veal cooked at low temperature for 48 hours with a side of barley with peas and delicious puree, nothing to say, perhaps the small piece of meat was a a little small, I would definitely have eaten a little more. Our dishes, tasty, arrived well presented and quickly. To end the dinner on a sweet note we ordered a good dessert consisting of a trio of chocolate in various consistencies and a good homemade vanilla ice cream, in the end we were full and satisfied. Definitely fair value for money. Friendly welcome, smiling, helpful and attentive staff, everything was fantastic and allowed us to spend a pleasant evening, thank you. Surely if we return to the area for a visit we will return again to try other dishes at this delicious restaurant.

The nice, friendly welcome and the extremely attentive, expert and, despite the full terrace, calm service was the icing on the cake for the food, which was hard to beat! Our expectations were far exceeded; Taste explosion from the first to the last bite! Price-performance ratio is adapted to the level 👍 and don't forget the regionally purchased goods. We'll definitely come back :-)

A place to linger and enjoy culinary delights. Inconspicuous from the outside, but the kitchen has a twist. The atmosphere is informal and you can feel the heart and passion in the wine recommendations. We tasted wines with the meal that we otherwise wouldn't have ordered and we would have missed out on something.

The food and service was very. The portion was the right size and my special request was accepted.

A beautiful restaurant with very polite, friendly, funny and above all courteous service in at least three languages ​​(D, F, E). We were able to enjoy a fantastic wedding dinner including an aperitif in the courtyard (a la carte). The wine selection leaves nothing to be desired, the owner is extremely knowledgeable and almost lives for his wine cellar 🤩, a real pleasure to get advice from. The chef also introduced himself briefly, compliments to him too, who prepared all the dishes to perfection. Thank you for the great (“unique”) experience. I'll definitely be back soon.

Delicate food, lovely ambience, brilliant staff. Fantastic… WHEN Spontaneous visit to the Käserei restaurant on a Tuesday evening during the city-wide fountain festival. TERRACE There were two of us and we were allowed to sit on the outside terrace. The beautiful ambience (table settings, flowers, ambient lighting) invites you to linger. The interior is also very nicely decorated and has a rustic, romantic yet modern feel. EAT My starter “beef tartare” is one of the best tartars I have ever eaten. The main course was a cordon bleu with fine cheese and very tender meat. My wife enjoyed a green tomato gazpacho as a starter and the “braised meat as recommended” and was also completely happy with her choice. In short, delicate meat, great combination of sauces, fine vegetables, everything harmoniously and freshly combined. The dessert combinations are second to none and the homemade limoncello is super delicious. If you fancy cheese as a dessert, you can enjoy a buffet that lives up to the restaurant's name. STAFF & SERVICE The best for last: the service was refreshingly friendly and had time for explanations and recommendations despite the full house. The service was quick and attentive and the employees fully live out the host spirit in their work. A rarity these days. Even the owner was involved in service and served his guests with passion. The team has a good atmosphere. Thank you for this great evening. PS: Eggplants are great... 😉

Beautiful address, excellent dishes. We didn't have enough to eat. The dessert (rather very expensive, CH 19.00, the cheese plate is CHF 25.00) is delicious but eaten in 2 spoons. Expedited service, not always attentive.

Starter: lots of meat, almost no cheese. The main courses were very small, the fries were about a coffee cup full, so not a mug, so really little. The entrecote was large and tender but unfortunately dry. The dishes were very unbalanced in terms of quantity, you can tell the kitchen team can do something, but you won't be happy with the food. I think 8.8 Fr for 1 liter of tap water is completely excessive for an aperitif with alcohol and wine for the starter and main course. The price performance is non-existent, higher rated Gault Millau restaurants can do this better and cheaper.
