Went to the Kern bakery-restaurant for the 3rd time this year in 2024. 2 times on Sunday morning and this year on Tuesday carnival evening. Miserable service, arrogant and arrogant from all employees including the boss. The very last time with friends at the carnival, all the restaurants were crowded and there was a good atmosphere throughout the Laufen town. Unfortunately, the 6 of us found a free spot in the core pastry café and had hardly any space and all the guests were thrown out of the restaurant. They didn't even think it was necessary to let them drink everything in peace. Mind you, it was only around 7:00 p.m. the whole city was open until midnight except for the core pastry café and some were even open until the morning. So in the future I will avoid this shop and cannot recommend it to anyone.

Fine cafe with bakery in the 6th generation. Worth a detour when visiting the city. Were only there for coffee and sweets. Food rating therefore only for sweets.

The brunch was very tasty and the price was great. The best thing was the orange juice. There was no Earl Gray tea. Unfortunately this time the service specialist wasn't very attentive. When we wanted to order more drinks, it took a long time before we could order. Furthermore, no equipment was carried inside.

We stopped here on our way through. The location is great and the seats on the street invite you to linger. Unfortunately the ice cream only gets 3 stars. But the cakes looked very tasty and appetizing! The service was friendly. Everything was alright.

The chocolate course and the pralines are A1. I also really like the managing directors. I often found the service to be overloaded and unfriendly. I don't feel welcome. I find the staff's overview of the outside area to be inadequate. I don't like the coffee.

I've never been disappointed so far. Everyone is friendly and nice. Never had to wait long either.

I'm there practically every Saturday, drinking an espresso with my mother and enjoying the good patisserie.

A small cafe with an amazing atmosphere, the cakes and chocolates are of very, very high quality and are made in the on-site bakery. Located on the main street in the old town of Laufen, a picturesque place. If you are in the area it is worth making the effort to come.

A nice cozy café that reminds you of the good old days. Very fine baked goods and chocolates. One point deducted because of the alternating friendliness. It all depends on the weather ;) It's also a shame that the cafés don't agree with each other so that at least one good café is open on Monday, otherwise running is extinct on Mondays.

For me, THE pastry shop in Stedtli Laufen 🤩 very friendly service, fine patisserie, my favorite the Kern's Whiskey Truffes. Awarded the gold medal of the “Swiss Bakery Trophy” in 2012 and voted the best praline in Switzerland 😋
