Great service, good prices and portions, very tasty food.

Nice people but in my opinion there are better Asian restaurants in Lucerne. And the price is relatively high.

Restaurant serving Vietnamese food and Southeast Asian dishes (Laos, Thailand), delicious and at a good price for Lucerne. It doesn't have more than 10 tables and it fills up. I recommend the Beef Pho and the appetizers for 4.

Food was super delicious, authentic SEA cuisine. Loved it! The owners were super welcoming, friendly and helpful. The atmosphere is quite authentic, feeling like being in a restaurant in Thailand.

Vegetarian friendly spot and amazing amazing food. I asked them to make me a thai fried rice with vegetables even though it wasnt on the menu and it was spot on. Their home made chilli oil was a superb add on. 😍 will definitely go back!!

Price-performance is not right. For this price I expect better meat quality. The beef tasted more like bratwurst than anything else and if you hadn't known you were looking at chicken you wouldn't have been able to tell from the taste. All in all just bad.

We had such a good dinner here. Amazing curries. Great lumpias. And the staff was super duper friendly. Especially recommend the Thai ice tea too drink. Not to sweet, just right.

I visited this restaurant tonight and had beef soup Phnom Penh noodles and Vietnamese chicken fried rice. They tasted very good. I am in Switzerland and it is impossible to use all ingredients from Asia. But the best thing is that the soup base is soupy and the fried rice has minced garlic, which is special. Delicious! The portions are large and the price is reasonable for Switzerland. The service attitude is very good and considerate, and the owner and his wife are also very enthusiastic in greeting customers! (Swiss prices are the most expensive in the world, so prices cannot be compared with those in Asia)

It's a great place for asian food! They serve vietnamese, laos and thai food. We're trying their sweet and sour chicken and chicken satay. Absolutely amazing and the price is also great. It cost us 19.5 chf for the medium-sized sweet and sour chicken. Will be back when i visit Lucerne city again.

The Laotian national dish Lab Gai and the Thai iced tea taste as original as in Southeast Asia, fantastic! The banh bao was also great. The water spinach in oyster sauce was unfortunately a bit generic and not very original. Unfortunately there was no Beerlao, which I would have been looking forward to. Communication was difficult: our standard German was hardly understood, I found the interaction a bit rough. Unfortunately, guests cannot be accommodated; exchanging fragrant rice for sticky rice, even with an additional charge, was not possible. As other reviewers have already described, the ambience does not invite you to linger. But if you pay attention, you can find beautiful details such as a photograph of a Laotian river landscape or a mother-of-pearl painting of Pha That Luang in Vientiane.

An ABSOLUTE MUST! My wife and I got the fried shrimp, the steam bun, spring rolls, and fried rice noodles with chicken eggs and vegetables and my word this has been one of the best meals I have eaten in Europe. The food is delicious, the serving sizes are very generous, silverware and napkins are right on the table. There is very limited seating there maybe 12 tables for 2 but if you can get a seat do it. They also have a take away menu there it doesn't have as much as the main menu. The staff are the nicest people as well. Incredibly welcoming and make sure to take care of everyone. Just go here it's amazing.

When we were there, there were customers like us waiting for the restaurant to resume its business at 5pm after a break. The waitress (probably the female boss) gave us a English menu which was what we needed. 😅 We ordered Phad Thai and Beef Rice Noodle, but found the taste alright only. Slightly different from what we had in Singapore or Thailand. But the Vietnamese Iced Coffee was good! The waitress worth a thumb up, as we saw a few regulars walking in and she remembered and confirmed their usual order without them even speaking.

Missed having warm hearty Asian food after traveling out of Asia for our 2 weeks trip to Europe. This place certainly satisfied our craving and warmed us up during a rainy day. The owners were very friendly. We had the Tom Yam soup with Fish and the chicken fried rice. Large portion was quite a lot for 2 people we should have got medium unless you have big appetites. Their home made chilli was spicy and very tasty too.

Had a chicken with vegetables once there a month ago and was good, but last evening had a rice with speck and it wasn't a good smell, on top had some stomach pain all night.

After seeing the reviews here, I thought I could eat authentic food. So when I got to the door, I saw the crowded and ordinary environment inside and wanted to try it with my family. However, after eating, I realized that I was too stupid and really shouldn't trust the Internet completely. Comment, for Asians, this is really an ordinary and unpalatable meal. Maybe only non-Asians will find it authentic. Lunch cost about 110 Swiss francs for 4 people. The food was not delicious and the environment was uncomfortable. The staff even criticized me! He said that he had not ordered the food but had considered eating it, but he did not write down the food when placing the order (here you have to write the order yourself), and changed the order to another food without notifying the employee first. The employee's strange logic is surprising Laughing and getting angry.

Very crowded, limit seating, lowest price is 16.8 chf, avg price 22 to 28. Vegetable just steam no taste, pork belly at 21chf very fatty. Seating rubbing elbow to elbow. I'd more than 2 person will hard to find a seat

It's not about the taste, but about the service. Their service was very very bad and we were so uncomfortable to try their menu. They forced us to order more as we were 4 people and ordered 2 appetizers (for our wives) and 2 main dishes (for me and my friend). I think the owner looked down on us as we were not white (a bit racist I think), and thought that we didn't have money so they tried to kick us out by forcing us to buy more. So, we chose to leave the restaurant. It should be up to us as customers. They're so arrogant and this is the first time I've found this kind of service.

You know the food is gonna be lit when the restaurant is in a random street side alley. We got the daily special curry and it was hitting the spot. Everything works well together. Also the owner is very friendly and likes to joke around - he also gave us recommendations on tourist places to visit! Highly recommend this spot for all Thai food enjoyers

*WARNING: HAD BUGS IN THEIR BEEF NOODLE SOUP!* We were craving for asian food and decided to drop by this restaurant but were fooled by the fake reviews on this restaurant. Restaurant is unhygienic, food was overpriced and disappointing, waiter/waitresses’ (I suppose are the owners of the restaurant) attitude was horrendous. We ordered the beef pho noodle soup and chicken fried rice. Chicken fried rice was bland, beef pho noodle soup tasted more like a bland thai boat noodle soup instead of pho. While eating the beef noodle soup, we noticed a couple bugs inside and soon realized there were more inside (at least 5 in there). When we raised this to the owner, instead of apologizing, they kept denying and insisted that it’s the broth scum from the beef bone even though we had photos of the bugs showing the legs. They eventually refunded us the money but did not extend an apology to us at all. Would give them a negative review if I could. DO NOT COME HERE!

The food here is of high quality. Yes, like in many Asian fast food restaurants, there is a lot of fried food, but also fresh vegetables. The food is always fresh and not stale. The staff is courteous and friendly. The price-performance ratio is balanced and fair. I can highly recommend the wontons! You can pay with card and Twint, really great!

I have already tried a lot of Asian restaurants in Lucerne and have to say that Khoua Vientiane is clearly the best in Lucerne! Very fresh ingredients and perfectly balanced in taste. I took various friends here and everyone was thrilled. The service is very friendly and I always like to come back. Stay as you are!

The restaurant is very small so if one wants to eat there, should go early to find a seat. I did enjoy the fried duck and penang curry, but the papaya salad could have been more flavourful...it lacked the spice and the lemony zest. The service was very friendly. Its a very casual place.

Excellent meal, very good atmosphere with music, the employees are adorable and always attentive to customers, the decoration is simply a reflection of the country, we really felt like we were in Laos, I had a pleasant dinner! I strongly recommend!

The portioning is small (both dishes we ordered in medium). More importantly, the flavours were very one dimensional. The pad see ew equivalent was only seasoned with sweet soy sauce, and the noodles were still rolled up and not cooked through, with no 'wok hei'. The Thai styled basil beef tasted only of oyster sauce, and I could barely taste basil in it.

Food tastes okay but nothing like what you would get in Thailand or Vietnam. Kind of one dimensional.

Decent food, good portioning, and kind staff. I will say that although the meal was flavourful, it lacked quality. My noodles (#40) were a bit dry and felt like it was reheated. The pho (#33) also did not taste like pho but still alright. Drinks were overpriced. If you are looking for authentic Vietnamese, I would advise elsewhere as there is not any Vietnamese food on the menu even though it is advertised as Vietnamese.

Dont be fooled, 33 titled pho is not actually pho. More like beef broth drizzled with soy sauce. The beef itself also tasted weird. It tasted as if they made won ton soup and put a bunch of spices in it. Ive had a lot of Vietnamese food in my life, and honestly for this price I was very dissatisfied and dissapointed.

Poor food and service. Never go there. They don't even provide water and the prices are more expensive than other restaurants in Switzerland. The spring rolls were not cooked properly, so they were cold on the inside and hot on the outside.

Shortlisted this thai place amongst the many others while looking for something spicy to be had for dinner. 🍲 the Tom yum Kung was good, very authentic and was a properly portion serving, 6 fresh prawns in total 🦆 the sauce for the crispy duck was decent, serving was a bit too little imo for the price paid 🥟 the wantan was okay, too deep fried and didn’t give off enough flavours despite it containing chicken and shrimp 🍚 the fried rice was the best dish of the night, saw this off the adjacent table and gotten it - very flavourful and had a generous portion of chicken meat to go along with At 78.50 CHF, it was a little pricey - but still a good place to have some Asian food for a change.

What is this? I ordered fresh shrimp papaya salad and got two cooked shrimp. And the other two grilled rice dishes were very salty. Driving for 20 minutes was very frustrating.

Very friendly services! Tiny and cozy restaurant. We've ordered a medium and large sized #33 beef pho. The portion between medium and large has no big difference, almost same portion with little bigger bowl. We definitely did not like the beef in the pho, especially the texture and taste were very uncommon. The taste of soup wasn't too bad but it was too oily. A lady, who served our pho, put her finger inside of our bowl when she was serving. Sriracha hot sauce and Hoisin sauce bottles were not cleaned.

I have loved the food here since I had been a student. Affordable price with excellent food and generous portion. And of course so friendly service. Highly recommended.
