Warm welcome from the very friendly and attentive service. The salad dressing was very nice. Various fresh bread included. The fondue that followed was TOP! Buttery tender meat, delicious dips, fries with fine spices, we have nothing but praise. What was also positive was that our kids were also welcome and they also really liked the fondue. The best meat in Eastern Switzerland! Be sure to try the horse but everything tastes great. The service staff are not only professionally competent but also very kind and pretty. Perfect location for a culinary evening, we'll be back!

Very nice atmosphere and excellent food. It's a shame that only the pork is sourced exclusively from Switzerland. For the price, I would expect additional side dishes to be offered at Hot Stein, as fries, for example, are rather sparse.

Meat tigers get their money's worth here (and those who want to become one)! A clear menu, but you can tell that the food is freshly grilled/cooked. Very nice service and cozy atmosphere. It's definitely not the last time I've been there!

PRO: to eat: great, rarely had such a masterful tartare and excellent fillet of beef! Hats off. CON: The vegetables have taken on a mixed flavor - I would cook the vegetables separately and put them together according to the customer's wishes, it's pretty quick. A lot can be achieved here with spices. Conclusion: 8/10. AMBIENCE: simple, organized and clean. A little too impersonal - this is my personal impression, and I'll point that out clearly here. STAFF: rather reserved, clear and structured way of working. Unfortunately, I wasn't given a wine list with the menu, nor was this mentioned or asked about. No attempt to make me an aperitif palatable or to sell anything else. On the other hand, I thought it was nice that the chef showed up briefly in person and asked how we were doing. I clearly have to deduct 2 Google stars here because I didn't like the fire bowl outside from the start. After eating my impression was confirmed; The vehicle was full of ash and there was a faint smell of smoke in the interior. This is a no-go for a new car. So I had to go to the car wash briefly, which spoiled my overall impression. If the fire bowl disappears, I would be happy to come back with my Gspähnli and revise the rating higher. ADDENDUM: Since the fire bowl is gone, I decided to have a little birthday dinner with the boys. The meat was of course great again, the side dishes were excellent, and the service hardly took our eyes off it. We felt very welcome and looked after and at the end the owner, the cook and the waitress came to our table and had a drink or two with us at the late hour and reflected on God and the world. A master of flesh works here. I'm not necessarily rating the restaurant here, we were outside and it was a bit noisy right next to the street.
