La Cucina in Cademario

Do not go ! Mediocre food and extremely expensive for this quality. Every dish ordered was disappointing. They were bad, cold and the quantities ridiculously small. In addition, the presentation of the dishes was more than questionable. This restaurant has no place in a 4-star hotel. I was very disappointed with the quality offered.

We stayed here overnight and were very positively surprised by the food. The price is rather high and the description is imaginative but the food was excellent and the portions were pleasant. The ambience, the view and good service round off the whole thing to a wonderful stay.

Card with little choice. High price. Staff (mostly) cold and unsmiling. Food nothing more. The bread was not cooked. As a starter, I chose: pork belly cooked at low temperature with grilled tomato chutney, braised cabis and pork popcorn (translation from the menu). I received a very fatty piece of pork, the tomato sauce tasted like barbecue sauce and there was cabbage drizzled with olive oil on the plate. I then had a crepe with hazelnut cream, because neither dish tempted me. The waitress told me that it was lactose and gluten free? The presentation of the desserts was beautiful. However, I received a cold crepe. The taste really wasn't great since I could taste grains of salt and the cream was more like dark chocolate with some hazelnuts. We paid a total of 88.- for 2 starters, 2 desserts and 1/2 liter of water. I was extremely disappointed with this restaurant, which for me is clearly not up to par with the hotel, which, for the rest, is impeccable.

After a relaxing afternoon spent at the hotel's spa, including swimming pools and massages, we stopped for dinner. Calm and welcoming atmosphere perfect for a couple's dinner. The restaurant offers a beautiful view and the staff is extremely friendly and professional.

Unfortunately we gave this Restaurant a try despite the reviews here because we stayed at the hotel. We ordered 4 dishes and and all of them came in various degrees of warmth but just not hot. The edges of for example the pasta were clearly more dry and the meat was cold in the middle which leads me to believe chef microwave holds a high and well paid position in this kitchen. The most disappointing thing was the crêpe as dessert tho. A loveless piece of papyrus on top of some sad and lonely looking nuts. The hot chocolate served on the side was really flocky and the oil from it wasn’t even binding with the rest. So you just had a really unappetising mixture of water, oil and some pieces of chocolate. Taste was just as imagined and all of that costs a whopping 16 Chf. Don’t recommend at all for the price there

The kitchen is unusable. The kitchen is inflexible/overwhelmed. If you want to eat a salad plate or something “normal”, this is completely out of place. The dishes that are offered cannot meet expectations either. Luckily, there is an opportunity to eat well in a cozy get-together within walking distance.

Ate here the first night of our stay. No wait since we had reservations. The food was good, not great. Bread to start you and a normal wait time for food (about 20-25 min). Definitely more expensive than expected. The views though. All in all, it was worth a meal!

I cannot confirm the bad reviews in any way. On the contrary! The restaurant was well attended. We didn't have to wait 5 minutes at the entrance. (No reservation) The service staff was friendly, efficient and very attentive. The gears were perfectly spaced. The food was fantastic! A bit expensive, yes. But, we are in a 4-star hotel, in a prime location and in Switzerland. So from my point of view completely legitimate. The portions were more than sufficient. We would be happy to come back and can fully recommend the restaurant.

The food was fine but I agree with the other reviews that it’s certainly not worth the high price. The staff (specifically the young girl with the glasses) doesn’t seem to understand that a paying customer should be treated better. She seemed to be extremely upset that we moved one table over after getting seated at an AWFUL table facing the wall and not the view (I wish I took a picture for this post). She proceeded to say things like “the chef picks the tables” or that “the other table was reserved for us” “we can select a table only at breakfast”. However, a couple that came in directly after us got to SELECT which table they wanted to sit at even though they also had a reservation just like us. When we mentioned this to her she was rude and kept interrupting us to make her point that we are not to move tables without asking. Keep in mind, they sat us at a table with a “view” to the wall and there were several tables available with an actual view that never got occupied…. And as we sat there through this awful evening the tables became more and more available so I guess they didn’t have other guests coming they were just being disrespectful and rude out of arrogance. I think a lesson in hospitality can be learned here. I would normally not leave such a bad review but they completely ruined my night and I couldn’t wait to leave the restaurant. Update: Sitting here at breakfast. We got seated (even though they told us the night before that for breakfast we can pick our own table). The same girl is now moving other couples around the restaurant with plates in hand because they were seated at the wrong tables….🤦🏼‍♀️ What an embarrassment. This staff needs to organize themselves. Clearly no structure or communication between the team here.

Absolutely terrible food and slow service. Went here for my birthday in april to enjoy the spa and the hotel. Nothing wrong with the hotel and the spa. But the food in restaurant taste bad. And for my birthday as a surprise a amaretti cookie from the package with a used candle. Hahaha 🤪 never again here. I do not recommend this place.

Absolute disaster! If I had read the reviews earlier... But for a 4 star plus hotel with such horrendous prices, I would have expected good cuisine. We waited over an hour for the Primi Piatti. The noodles were hard and had zero taste. After a total of 1 1/2 hours of waiting, the main course finally arrived. My lamb chop was completely raw inside! I've never let anything go back into the kitchen, but that was a real disaster! Since we had already lost our appetite, we decided not to prepare it any further. The waiter took the plate away and later informed us that the dish would be taken off the bill. When we received the bill, half of the dish had been accounted for. According to the waiter's statement, that's what his superior wanted. We then asked the boss and had to discuss it again. The dish was ultimately removed from the bill. There is more appearance than reality in this restaurant. They pretend to be upscale but the food is really not edible. Very unfortunate

We waited almost 1 hour and 15 minutes for a single dish (a first course). Arrived cold, overcooked and with little taste... it's a shame but the cuisine, also from what was observed in the dining room, is really very poor... less so are the very pretentious prices. Overall a big disappointment. I don't think we will dine here again despite being hotel guests.

We visited this restaurant a few times as part of the longer stay at this hotel. The restaurant has a wonderful view of lugano and the lake, mountains. The personnel was very friendly and helpful. The menu is very well structured and in particular it mentions what is free of lactose, vegan and gluten-free. There are a lot of good options to choose from and everything is very healthy. The starter was really nice looking and well tasting. The risotto was also perfect. The desert was spectacular. I am surprised by the many negative comments about this restaurant because my experience was very different. The prices are maybe a little bit higher but then I think the food was worth it. This is not the restaurant for fast food. Anyhow, we will come back here sometimes to this hotel and enjoy a few days more.

Food was tasty but wait times were long. For the price level (high) I would have expected better service. Staff were nice but often seemed uncoordinated, unnecessarily rushed & at times clumsy. Overall the price/performance ratio was not great.

Excellent restaurant and impeccable service In 2016 I was with my wife as already mentioned in the review below the Hotel at the Kurhaus restaurant for lunch included in the "A special day" package. We ate very well, from starters to desserts. Everything truly delicious. Impeccable service, very friendly and kind. We will definitely be back to try other dishes.

Unfortunately, the food here is not recommended at all and is quite a disappointment (especially at this price you might expect something). None of our courses were completely warm. There are plenty of other restaurants where you can eat much better for the same price and enjoy a true gourmet atmosphere. The service is also pretty bad for a restaurant of this type and you even have to ask for cutlery. Unfortunately, people rely a little too heavily on the good view here.

Gourmet restaurant of the hotel... right from the first moment we had the clear sensation of a presumptuous attitude on the part of the staff which then became evident as the dinner continued... we waited at least 15 minutes before it came to us water was served, then another 10 for a mini portion of bread... a small menu and not up to par except for the astronomical prices... a vegetable canapé, with semi-raw green beans no more than 10 cm in diameter 25 Francs!!!! I forgot....while the other tables were brought the list of wines we didn't even ask....better this way because otherwise the bill, for 2 courses, 1 glass of HUGO, 1/2 l of water and a scoop of ice cream each would have been much more than the 94 Francs paid... negative experience from all points of view!!!

Die beiden nachfolgenden Gänge waren auch nicht beachtenswert. An zwei Nachbartischen haben Gäste das Châteaubriand bestellt, welches für meine Verhältnisse zu weit gegart war. Tendenz medium. (55 Franken pro Person)Die zweite Reservierung in der Agra-Bar haben wir abgesagt und sind lieber in andere Restaurants gefahren.

Nous avons séjourné deux nuits dans cet hôtel. Le spa est spacieux, agréable. Le petit déjeuner est copieux avec un vaste choix par contre, le restaurant ne vaut en aucun cas le « 14 au Gault et Millau ». Payer 45.- une assiette de poisson (beaucoup trop cuit) avec des accompagnements médiocres. Les légumes immangeables vu leurs acidités, ainsi qu’une purée de pommes de terres sèche, sans goût et mauvais. Le deuxième soir, nous essayons la brasserie où le cinéma continue. La nourriture n’est pas cuisinée mais réchauffée, je ne conseille donc à personne ce restaurant. À côté de ça, personnel agréable et gentil.

Im „La Cucina“ hatten wir ein 4-Gang Menü, das gut war, aber nichts Aussergewöhnliches. Das Servicepersonal ist freundlich. Das Kurhaus Cademario war vollständig ausgebucht und wir erhielten trotz früher Reservation nur einen schlechten Platz, ohne Aussicht, ohne Fenster. Die 4-Gänge haben sich sehr lange hingezogen und wenn man nur die Gäste gegenüber anschauen kann, ist das nicht sehr attraktiv. Brot wurde grosszügig nachgereicht. Der Preis für dieses 4-Gang Menü ist mit CHF 78.- an der oberen Grenze. Es gab: - Geräucherte Schweinelende mit gemischten Gemüse und Senf-Orangen-Dressing- Plin Ravioli mit Castelmagno Käse auf Spargelcreme und getrockneten Tomstenpesto - Gebratenes Hähnchen mit Foyot Sauce, Kartoffeln und Tomaten nach mediterraner Art - Karottenkuchen mit Haselnüssen In der Agra Bar assen wir a la carte. Hier bekamen wir einen angenehmeren Tisch mit Aussicht. Das Essen ist gut und es hat genügend Servicepersonal.

Abendessen am ersten Abend war top, sehr lecker gekocht; am zweiten Abend mit anderem Menü nicht mehr ganz so lecker, aber immer noch empfehlenswert. Wunderbarer Blick, gute Weinkarte, freundlicher Service.

Prächtige Aussicht, super Küche! Komme immer wieder. Als Vorspeise kann ich sehr gut den Saibling empfehlen.

For the wonderful occasion of anniversary celebration with fiancé, we decided to make a booking in advance for the restaurant Cademario La Cucina.Reservation was made few days in advance, and the confirmation of booking at the restaurant has been sent manually by one of F&B reservation agents(please find attached the screenshot of the booking confirmed) . We drove 40 minutes to reach the place , the occasion was extremely important since it matches Valentines day in addition to 2 years anniversary. All the restaurants of course are overbooked in advance for the date of Valentine, thats why, happy, knowing our date is planned we went to Cademario La Cucina. The way we were treated is not just terrible and unprofessional, but also showing how disrespectful and not deserving any trust is this place. They simply did not let us in, ruined the whole anniversary and date, all plans! The excuse was that due to COVID only guests in house are allowed to visit restaurant. Well, understandable for normal people, the situation is not easy due to COVID, and as understanding guests we would also accept it and plan something different in advance ,if instead of confirmation of booking at the hotel restaurant with “warm welcome” letter that they are awaiting for us ,we would just receive an email saying that unfortunately it is not possible to accept us. This place will always stay in my memory as the most terrible, with unhelpful people, who without any proposition of resolution of the problem which they have caused BY THEMSELVES have just kicked us out of the hotel and place . Question: DEAREST MANAGEMENT, please make sure to train your people, please pay attention to details, please instead of ruining special occasions of people check what do you do 100 times in advance, give trainings to people or at least check after them what they do, hope at least management will pay attention to details. We could not eat anywhere on our anniversary because of what has happened, restaurants at the hotel where we stay has been overbooked. Before confirming of the reservation, to make sure you book it for the guest(as requirement for the hotel) , you have a special system, called Opera or Fidelio(using option of update reservation or shift F4 at least ) Micros as well, to understand if the guests is staying in-house or no. Following to this any person reading this now can understand how unprofessionally has been this reservation made . Terrible management skills of the person who spoke to us, repeating the same: “We cannot let you, you dont stay here”, better would go and teach his people to work in the system. This feedback is nothing comparing to the way you have ruined my day , and I will not only NOT RECOMMEND, but also discourage all my friends and surroundings from coming to this place (all of them hoteliers, including me). Non of the beauty of the place or your restaurant can be seen by people, is your staff is so disrespectful and unprofessional. Hope this will reach the GM of the hotel and give a good reason for staff to be retrained and taught a bit of skills of problem solving management .

Gnocchi un po' troppo "pesanti", tonno troppo cotto e servizio troppo lento e poco professionale anche se molto gentile e premuroso. Das Amouse Bouche war nicht ansprechend und unsere Gerichte waren entweder fad oder eine komische Kreation. Zum ersten Mal habe ich kein Dessert bestellt, da ich befürchtete auch hier enttäuscht zu werden.Service war flott und die Aussicht ist sehr schön, aber das macht das Essen leider auch nicht besser. Es ist eigentlich unglaublich, dass das Restaurant quasi voll war. Dies wohl aufgrund von "Sehen und gesehen werden" und der wenigen Alternativen in Cademario. Von "Gourmet" ist man weit entfernt und einer "super Küche" leider auch. Schade, dass das Management bei den sonst so vielen Marketingmassnahmen fürs Hotel hier nicht handelt.

Das fotos que vi no site, não achei nada no cardápio, mas talvez porque fomos em dia de semana... Não quer dizer que não voltarei, mas certamente vale dar uma checada no cardápio antes de subir a montanha pensando em comer lá...

Piatti sofisticati, ma che non stupiscono, materie prime eccellenti, un servizio a dir poco impeccabile, con un personale dalla gentilezza squisita. Ma ad essere sinceri, per una media di 90 euro a persona mi aspetterei qualche cosa di più dalla cucina.

il ristorante ha una bella vista sulla valle e d'Estate ha anche tavoli all'aperto. La qualità del cibo e la presentazione è buona. I prezzi in linea con quelli svizzeri. Tuttavia per gustare i piatti bisogna armarsi di pazienza perché sia per ordinare sia per cominciare a ricevere i primi piatti passa un po' di tempo. Ma è un ristorante all'interno di un hotel dove i clienti vanno principalmente per rilassarsi quindi credo che anche nel ristorante la scelta di non avere frenesia aiuti questo relax.

Nach wie vor erlebten wir die Küche als erste Klasse - leider aber auch viel zu kleine Portionen / vor allem beim Hauptgang / und schon eher frech war der gefühlte Schluck einheimischer Merlot (Fr. 10..--) als bestelltes Glas Rotwein ( "Bödeler" einer quasi leeren Flasche eingegossen - völlig unprofessionell !!)

Das Essen war sehr gut und die Preise dafür angemessen. Der Service ist top und die Aussicht auf den Luganersee berauschend schön. Allerdings sind die Weine zu teuer.

Gute Auswahl und sehr feine Küche. Menue sind liebevoll zubereitet. Gute Bedienung und es herrscht eine ruhige und erholsame Stimmung ohne Stress

Das bestellte 5 Gangmenu war hervorragend. Beginnend mit einem Amuse bouche: keines Pasteli mit einer Tranche Lachs: Es folgte fein gehobelter Tintenfisch auf Rucola, dazu ein fruchtiger Pinot Grigio. Dann ein dunkler Risotto mit einem kleinen Fischstück, dazu ein weisser Tessinermerlot. Danach folgten 2 Stücke gebratener Fisch und etwas Gemüse mit einem Rosato: Osé. Wir haben als Hotelgäste hier zu Abend gegessen. Das Essen war vorzüglich, von der Vorspeise über den Hauptgang bis zum sehr feinen Dessert. Allerdings war der Preis, trotz der besten Qualität, etwas sehr hoch, für uns beinahe an der Grenze zum Zahlbaren. Aber wir hatten einen Geburtstag zu feiern, also haben wir uns das geleistet und wurden sicher nicht enttäuscht.

Das Essen war sehr gut. Preis/Leistung zum Teil etwas zu hoch. Jedoch sehr freundliche und aufmerksame Bedienung. Super Frühstück und wunderschöne Aussicht.
