Very tasty burgers and tacos! Nice location, would love to come back.

5 of us went to this place to enjoy something to eat and sip a few drinks. The venue offers a wide choice of seats and a welcoming and youthful atmosphere, accompanied by music. We opted for sandwiches and potatoes as a side dish. The potatoes turned out to be very tasty and the portions were adequate. The sandwiches, of good size, were appreciated. Regarding prices, perhaps some dishes could be slightly cheaper, but overall it's okay. The only drawback is the lack of backrests on some seats, which could make an extended evening uncomfortable. Furthermore, the waiting times for some courses were a bit long, even considering the full attendance of the place. However, I would still recommend this place to spend time with friends, enjoying a pleasant atmosphere.

The restaurant was packed and we were asked to come back in 45 minutes. Ok no problem, but when we returned the staff were extremely rude and decided to help the group that came after us. The group didn't have a reservation at all but they were given a table right away. When we asked for a table there were none left and we were offer the bar. When we told him that we came first and we have been waiting for 45 min he said "well the other group had a reservation" Which was a lie because we were standing right next to the group throughout the conversation. They didn't have a reservation!!! When we decided to leave because of bad customer service the guy told us you could have just been more patient which is ridiculous because we were extremely patient for the whole 50 min. We were a regular of the restaurant but after multiple experience with bad customer service, we will not be returning again!

had dinner with my daughter, excellent burgers, good baked potatoes, very smart and friendly waiters, I'll be back. Price...if you eat well you forget it!

EXCELLENT FOOD, YOUNG ATMOSPHERE We went to Lugano for a walk and came across this place which immediately caught our attention. We had a Nachos which, according to what we were told, is a must in this place, then a Fermata burger (their strong point and we confirm it), a Smash burger, a Surf and Turf taco and a Birria taco. Everything really excellent, excellent quality at a more than adequate price. Highly recommended!

We had already been to this place a few months ago, we had eaten very well but we had had some problems with the room service not on par with the quality of the food. We confirm the experience we had already had, the food is always high profile, everything is very well looked after and super captivating.

Unfortunately we booked a table in person for a specific evening and when we arrived on the evening of the reservation they told us that they don't guarantee the tables! But both my friend and I went in person and the short waiter had assured us of that particular table... we were wrong: we should have asked for a more detailed confirmation 😅 and not to trust the word we had been given, as when when we arrived, the waiter at the entrance practically called us liars, saying that it was impossible that his colleague had secured a particular table for us! No comment for the rudeness and lack of correctness!

It is necessary to respond to your comment on my review. I'm sorry but yours are heresies. The truth is that you have not behaved honestly. We booked a table for 6 people two weeks in advance and even though we arrived early that evening we would have also waited at the counter, that wasn't the problem, but the problem is that we were told that our table was reserved for a another group! But how is this possible? Where is the seriousness? And what's more, first you tell us that it was impossible for us to have reserved that table (reservation made with the short waiter 2 weeks before!) as you don't accept specific reservations and then you tell us that our table is reserved for another group! Sorry but we don't behave like that.

everything good, small portions, prices a little high

We went Saturday evening around 19:30 without a reservation and were lucky to get a spot at the bar. Upon arriving at the restaurant, I was a bit confused if this place was a club or a restaurant. The overall vibe was very club-like, playing loud-ish music, dim lighting and groups of young folks getting a bite before going out later. The food was great and getting the food was incredibly fast like maybe five minutes after ordering?! We went with the fish tartare tacos, the vegan tacos (VLT I think it was called), and the Fermata nachos. The vegan protein in the VLT tacos was well done and the volume in the tacos was a generous portion x3. The nachos were also excellent packed with cheese, beef and veggies. The raw salmon in the other order was a bit strong for my palette and the hard shell made the eating experience somewhat messier. Still, service was great, host was friendly, and the food surpassed my expectations! Definitely will be back when in Lugano.

We had lunch with the family. The staff was kind. We ate a hamburger, Tapas with octopus and two hamburgers on the children's menu. The quality of the food was average. We spent 100.- frs. The price of the children's menu is very high for what is served. Average general cleanliness.

We had a very good time, the room with its soft lights creates an excellent atmosphere that immediately makes you feel at ease. The staff welcomed us with a smile and a joke, entertaining us and taking an interest throughout the evening. We opted for Tacos, an Octopork and BLT, both of which were amazing. If you want to stay lighter I don't recommend Octopork :D For dessert, a brownie with dulce de lece and salt crystals which together form an explosion of flavour! Very recommended place. We had a great time and will definitely be back.

Great place we didnt book a table and still got a nice place outside, our waiter Giorgio was very kind and funny, joking around and making us feel welcome. The food was great, especially the BLT Tacos.

We came at quite a calm moment on the evening. The food came really quickly and it was more than delicious. The vibe is really good. We told the waiter that the service felt a bit rushed and he said he totally understood and offered us Mezkal to drink together on the house as apology. He really listened and showed he cared. Great service.

The Tartare Burger by La Fermata is the best burger in the world and of all time. Point. If you are pregnant and need to avoid raw meat, Smash is excellent. A hair below, but still excellent, the household hamburger. Cisunami is a senseless exaggeration to be ordered only for fun purposes. It's possible that the rest of the menu is valid, but every time I go in, I have a moral obligation to order the Tartare Burger. The chips should be taken normal (without grain and without splashes of truffle oil). Coleslaw only if you have strange feelings of guilt about fried foods. The service is ok. Some waiters are friendlier than others, but who cares because only the Tartare Burger matters.

Really excellent burgers and tacos, a great variety of tapas and delicious potatoes as side dishes. Cheerful and festive atmosphere. I found some great options for vegetarians and vegans. Good cocktails.

Really nice and kind staff, and everything I've eaten is very good. Being close to schools and high schools, it is mainly frequented by young people and adapts its environment to this with very beautiful music.

Honestly the best bar in ticino, the cocktails, the food and the staff are just over the top !!! I can just highly recommend La Fermata to everyone. Music and atmosphere are incredible and during weekends it's just awesome!!!!

All very good, it's a shame that there is very little vegan, I hope they add more things in the future. It's a shame that the style is no longer that of the old stop pub, which was more interesting and less commercial. However, it remains one of the best sandwiches in Lugano

The food is good. The only negative note is that the low lights prevented us from seeing the food we had on our plates. The bathrooms are at the bottom of a staircase.

The experience you don't expect is worth the journey, not just the stop. Try, with caution, the habanero jam. If you love spicy it's unmissable!

While passing through Lugano we chose to have lunch in this place and we were satisfied. Clean place, friendly and helpful staff. We tasted an excellent gourmet burger "La Fermata" with fries and some local beer. Top!!!

This place has just moved to a larger premises, but the food quality has not changed at all, top notch. The servers were polite and warm and very playful with the kids (my and another table's just in front of us). My son absolutely loved it and couldnt wait for them to come to the table, they made him really feel special which I thought was a lovely touch and not something you get a lot of in lugano, especially from such a funky/fashionable place such as this. To housemate ice tea was really fantastic, as were the burgers and coffee. I will definitely be going back

The best Mexican tacos you can find in Switzerland! It's true the price is high for the quantity of food (a beer CHF 5), but the quality is worth it! Highly recommended! Especially for those looking for the original Mexican flavor!!

We had the most delicious meal at Fermata! We had the smash burgers, the nachos, and the Parmesan truffle fries. Everything we ordered was fantastic. My husband and I both agreed that it may have been the best burger we’ve ever had. The quality was undeniable and the staff was friendly. Highly recommend!

We had already heard about this place, friends had recommended it to us very enthusiastically, and we were pleasantly surprised. Modern and very youthful place, super helpful and professional staff, excellent food selection and a cocktail menu that would be the envy of many popular bars. Definitely a pleasant discovery, we will definitely return.

Unfortunately the place has radically changed and my assessment radically changes: 2 cocktails Including a negroni served in a glass where a large ice cube takes up half the glass A non-alcoholic drink (nothing elaborate), also more ice than soft drink 2 tapas of 5 pieces each 47 francs. It's a shame because it was once a nice and easy-going place, now it's a cool den where you overpay for what you order -------- Since it opened it has been one of my favorite restaurants, the food is excellent, as is the choice of beers. The young and welcoming staff. I recommend trying the onion rings and the parmesan and truffle chips, a real delight.

Very different from real Tapas, lukewarm almost cold and almost inedible food. There were 8 of us, only two people ate who had taken the sandwich, Tapas was a total failure. The waiter Tonino was very good.

Music too loud but a beautiful venue

I wanted to try the place for their burgers, since many people spoke positively about them. Unfortunately, however, it was a terrible experience. What good people find in their burgers, I really don't understand. Real good burgers can be found elsewhere, but even without pretensions you can eat better at Holy Cow, for one thing. Very limited choice of burgers (but oh well) and very expensive (like the extras): unacceptable! What I got was not very tasty (as it should be) if at all. At this point go to Mc if you want to taste some flavor (albeit artificial), anything is enough! Furthermore, the smell that the hamburger gave off was very strange and unpleasant. And then for the price you pay, they give you a few fries (even the not very tasty ones). First and last time.

Who would have thought you could get good Mexican food in Europe, let alone a small city in Switzerland? The homemade chips in the nachos were amazing, as were my chicharron tacos. They are pretty wet and greasy, but taste great. Only thing is how expensive everything is, 24€ for three tacos. : /

We spontaneously went to La Fermata and were lucky to get a free table. Super delicious tacos, tapas and cocktails! The service was also good and the music from the speakers was exactly our taste! Only the location is a bit remote. It's a shame we live in Bern, otherwise we would come by more often.

I enjoy La Fermata when I am in Lugano. This was my first visit since covid and the relocation to the new location. I was slightly disappointed in the service on this visit, however the food was excellent.

Very friendly waiters. They served us super quickly and we hardly waited between dishes. The food is delicious, the nachos and tacos taste very good and the burger is incredible. Lots of atmosphere and very cool although not for a quiet dinner. Super recommended.

After months, I finally had the chance to go and taste one of their burgers, for the occasion I tried the "Cisunami". let's start with the only flaw, what you receive is impossible to eat with your hands, it's true that I didn't commit because I would have risked being thought of as someone who hasn't eaten for months, however after a small attempt I abandoned the idea in favor of of cutlery. Now let's move on to the positives, and there are some The bread won't be the classic nice rounded bread, fat from a photograph but this shit... at the first bite you understand that we are not dealing with the canonical industrial sandwiches, certainly everything has been researched. Cheddar... perhaps the cheese that everyone expects to find in burgers with the "H" is never present to hide the rest of the ingredients. The egg as well, present with its flavour, appears from time to time without ever disturbing, the cooking is also excellent in my opinion as it doesn't drip all but just the right amount. We come to the bacon, yes it too is definitely present but like the rest well balanced, perhaps it could have been a little more crunchy, but here it's about taste all the other non-main ingredients such as onions, tomato, pickles etc help to make the Absolutely well balanced burger. Now we get to the meat, the main point of every burger. The meat is absolutely first choice, the flavor is excellent if tasted separately. Grinding, seasoning (very little in my opinion) and cooking make the latter the true protagonist of the sandwich, just as it should be. Unfortunately, having eaten outside, the colors of the photo would not convey the idea, however I confirm that the photos of other users correspond to what arrives. Now all that remains is to try the others on the menu

Very nice place, for my tastes prices a little high for small portions, sometimes a little strong flavors (which the majority may like, I prefer more delicate/less rich flavours).

The place is very nice and lends itself to multiple occasions from lunch to aperitif to dinner and after dinner. Mexican style with good value for money.
