The meals were reasonably priced and the pizzas and pastas were very good and the dessert menu was great with lots of ice cream selections for $8. (Swiss franc and dollars were roughly one to one). The waitresses were very nice and helpful and the service was great. Meal for 8 with a beer or two and desserts was around $175-$200. View was fairly good and the river runs by just across the street. Made it nice at night if the windows open and helps to make a cooler breeze (was warm when we were there). The breakfasts were good, typical european spread with a selection of great breads, cheese, cold cuts, jams/jellies, juice, water, coffee, tea, etc. Staff was very nice to let us keep some food in the restaurant fridge for our picnic lunches and provided some ice as well. One of us had trouble walking distances and the staff was nice enough to take her to the train station each morning. We gave them a nice tip to thank them for the excellent service. Overall a great stay and as good or better than the two other places we stayed on our trip that were far more expensive. Location is everything. This is somewhat off the beaten path but is a great value and the walk to and from the train station takes like 10 minutes. From there, it is a short train ride to Zermatt (where hotels are generally outrageously priced) and other places of interest in the area. Angemessene Preise und Qualität für die Schweiz im nicht Euroland! Großer, schöner Innenraum mit nett eingedeckten Tischen.
