Lago Lodge in Nidau

The staff there are very nice and friendly, so I can only recommend the hostel! Thank you for the great stay with you! (I don't know what "service" means here, that's why I'm not giving it any stars - and not because the service was so bad)

We came to the Lago Lodge bistro on the afternoon of a Sunday walk. The home-brewed beer tasted very good. Unfortunately, the fish crispies were baked so much that they were hard and inedible. The tartar sauce served with it had already formed a skin. Tasty is different...

The prices are really excessive and the quality of service has declined significantly in recent years. Fortunately the setting of the place saves the furniture.

Close to the lake, friendly service. Relaxed atmosphere. Uncomplicated. You can always take a chair and sit outside. Fries are very tasty.

Superb welcome from the staff with whom we spoke when we arrived, which encouraged us to go and drink a beer brewed on site and order food, everything was super good, fresh with a touch of originality! The place is atypical and worth the detour, we felt very good there!!! Everything was very clean, really well done and thank you!

Cozy location by the lake, with meadow and some shady spots. The beer is from our own brewery and the price/performance is absolutely fair. A special beer seasonally, otherwise a good standard offering. The food is average, unfortunately the prices for the classic Lagoburger have risen and the value for money is no longer right. Good ciabatta roll but the frozen patty is even more convincing, so the burger is simply too expensive for what is on offer.

Very pleasant stay. Very committed and helpful team (even though they were busy with end-of-year cleaning!) Very good breakfast. Uncomplicated team. It could be noisy in summer. The center of Biel can be reached quickly on foot.

I didn't stay, I just had a beer and ate something tasty, but the place has a good vibe, relaxed, good service, very good beer, good food and good service. It's in a park by the lake, the place is beautiful.

Very friendly staff, we were treated very courteously. The room was clean but very simple, but it had everything you needed. Even a hairdryer is available. For us the price/performance ratio was definitely right😊👍 The soft mattress is a matter of taste😉🤷‍♀️ Breakfast for 10.- was great, especially since our 6 coffees in the bistro would have cost more. Wonderful bread, cold cuts, cheese, everything available. Even lactose-free. Thanks! Gladly again!

The truth is that I felt very comfortable with the guys who work there, they are all very attentive and friendly and always willing to help, the rooms were clean and correct

The beer is good. The rooms, on the other hand, are really dirty and I've stayed in barracks with better beds. And two sockets for six people? The price/performance ratio is a disaster.

When I arrived at the hostel, there was an unpleasant incident with a guest in my room. I asked at the reception if I could have another room, or a single room, for which I was willing to pay the extra charge. I described the incident and was immediately given another room at no extra charge and was more than satisfied with that. The team apologized for the inconvenience and I even got a beer on the house. I am a bicycle traveler and was able to store my bicycle dry in a locked container with my luggage that I did not need in the room. Simply fantastic. The hostel is always clean, pretty cheap by Swiss standards and the service is amazing. Thank you for my lovely stay. I even extended it another day because it was so beautiful. Best regards Yannick

I can't rate the rooms because I've never stayed overnight at Lago Lodge. The service at the bar is always TOP - if you like beer, you definitely have to stop by Lago Lodge. The food is amazing, I love the salad (whether green or mixed), the ingredients are always (dewy) fresh and when you look at the salad you notice how crunchy it can be. Chicken wings, French fries and also the Lagoburger are a hit. Free pétanque/boules games - you can also rent the balls here.

The place, the beer, especially the honey one, is great. No complaints. Friendly and bilingual owner and waiters. On the other hand.... the meat of the burger is disgusting! Compact, completely dry, brown on the outside and red with pieces of nerves on the inside! And I think I know where it was purchased, at Prodega? Please change burger brand or supplier. And also the rest of the burger for 23.- it's really not great. Anyone does better at home! Suggestion: make a burger with fries & salad so you don't have to choose between the two. A little effort is these 5 stars! Following the response, I am moving to 3 stars.

a beautiful location, clean rooms, fine food and, above all, a super chilled garden terrace and lawn that invite you to linger. The beach is right next door and it's only a few minutes' walk to the train station and the city of Biel. Brilliant place!

We were there for 7 days, the room was only cleaned upon request. Shower with moldy curtain and floor unfortunately inadequate. When I asked her about it, nothing was done. Location and atmosphere with the bar were great.

Place to go to drink a good beer and enjoy the friendly atmosphere! The food is great! The place kindly becomes our second home!

Good place to stay for one night. Clean, very simple rooms, despite the restaurant being open (even in the evenings), the rooms are rather quiet.

The Lago Lodge is beautifully located. Friendly and uncomplicated employees. What's great is that it also offers wheelchair-accessible 4-bed rooms. The bathroom is barrier-free. Easily accessible and unique location on the lake. Ideal as a starting point for excursions or to relax. Ideal for us as a family with a disabled child. Highly recommended!

We were at the restaurant. As usual, it's always great. We especially appreciate the brewery with the large selection of organic beer. Parking nearby. To recommend.

The special beers are top. Location and ambience good. Food leaves nothing to be desired. Fried fish, a disaster.

I find it strange that there are fish knuschperli in the grass. From answer why hets hot weighing the pule wingi knöche and chinder where ume sekle. Hani doesn't have any clear understanding. I always liked it a lot but that just makes it unpleasant

Yesterday I had a good drink/eat at Lago in the great weather: 1x elderberry 3dl 1x mint 3dl 1x abeille 5dl 1x IPA 2dl 2x french fries ———— CHF 54.- (I think it should have cost around 34.-, according to the map) The winemaker deducted a hefty tip from herself - I didn't check it myself and noticed it this morning. I hope I'll be invited by Lago for the next few rounds ;-)

Discovered a while ago, rediscovered recently with very good beers, a good place near the lake and a piano!

Very sunny location. Plenty of paid parking spaces. Pétanque or bowling games on site, outdoors. Benches, tables, chairs available for drinking and eating outside while enjoying the sun. Very good quality service. Welcoming staff. Beers produced on site (honey beer and special beer to absolutely try). Different menus or small touches (fast food) with good portions. A little too many condiments for my taste.

A budget place to sleep with a nice atmosphere and a nice pub (with locally brewed beer). An unpretentious place living with the life of the local community. The outdoor area is especially conducive to afternoon relaxation. Great location!

The room was clean and the staff was very friendly. We were at the Christkind market in Konstanz, which is easily accessible on foot from the hotel. I really liked the free water at the lift.

It's the first time I've come here 👍🏻 I was fascinated 🤩 They make their own beer 🍻 which is exceptional 👍🏻 Even the food 🍽️ was excellent 👌🏻 They also have a beautiful garden 🪴 The young and very kind staff 😘 There is also a Hostel but I can't judge it since I didn't get a room 🤷🏻‍♂️ But from the outside it looks nice and welcoming 👍🏻 I will definitely be back 😘

Best beer I've had, I also love their apples, the very welcoming atmosphere, large garden to taste the refreshing beers. I can't say the same for the rest of the dishes. It stinks of brewer's yeast in winter, you have to ventilate it somehow.

The location is great and breakfast not too bad. To vent the room we had to keep the door open. The bunk beds have a high upper bed so the partial privacy given by it is not present and it doesn't have a ladder. The floor was quite dusty, the sheets were perfectly clean. The room had many outlets above the personal safes, none by your bed as ofen is more comfortable. It felt like being in a shipping container. Something was wrong with my beer, it was flat and tasted coppery and off. The fries were exquisite.

The beers are outstanding and locally made. As it's own brewery, that's what you expect. But on top, they offer a very cozy garden near the lake where you can grab a laying or regular chair to relax under the trees. The food with burgers, salad and chicken wings is good as well. The opposite is sometimes a playground which makes it awesome with kids as well because they have space to run and play Boccia.

Very friendly and helpful employees who keep an overview even in hectic times. Rooms are unclean. Lots of dust, cobwebs, dead mosquitoes on the windowsill. Ventilation in toilet very dusty. Larger bath towels would be an advantage. Unfortunately the room is noisy because the door is leaking. Also cutlery, dishes at the breakfast buffet, water jugs for tea and windows dirty. Would still recommend this accommodation because the price is right. Central location to the lake and train station.

We come very regularly, a very nice bar with good beer and the food is very good. Very nice setting when the weather is nice. A must do if you go to Bienne.

Miserable food, chicken wings warmed up at least twice, no seasoning, like chewing gum; Pike perch crisps were pre-fried in the deep fryer at some point during the day and then warmed up again, dry and like chewing gum. When the food was cleared away, I asked the waiter's daughter if she wanted to ask if the food was good, she replied snidely as to whether something had been wrong. When we asked her that she could tell the chef that the food was terrible, she cheekily replied, half the food and then complained. Such untrained staff should be removed as quickly as possible, including semi-skilled “cooks”.

I was in this hotel at the beginning of May. The price is low, but the comfort needed is sufficient for this price. If a person claims that it is a shelter, he probably has not been to the shelter. There is peace and quiet, friendly service, what can you expect for this amount of money. Me and my family were satisfied. If someone needs better comfort, there are hotels for CHF 200.

Nice hostel. The rooms are simply furnished. But they could use a little more care (dusting and removing cobwebs). One bath towel per guest would be nice. Unfortunately very difficult. Breakfast is small and nice. Nice cheese selection. Unfortunately the coffee machine is very neglected. Could use a greenish cleaning as well as a better adjustment for the cup size. The large cup overflowed during the espresso. The large coffee was rather medium. Very unfortunate.

Simple, uncomplicated accommodation in a beautiful location with very friendly staff and brilliant beer from the home brewery. The rooms are rather noisy and warm in summer. I can also recommend this hostel for families.

However, there is one point deducted: the quality of sleep suffered a bit due to the loud "hostel family" who partied until well after midnight. This despite the "night quiet" from 10 p.m.; We would have liked the hostel to take more decisive action ;-/

Must stop here to enjoy the beers from the on-site microbrewery. Beers for every taste, easy to drink and without complications. The girls are very money hungry and insidious! (Mainly the fox fur colored hair one!) They will also pay you what you shouldn't! Well, in such a viral period I would have preferred to be alone, so I paid a surcharge for the 6-bed room, this was finally done by being expelled from my room on my last day, I did think it would be enough to paying the extra money when I am check out! And she was call herself manager, so I can not talk about this with nobody at least! (The extra money asked for honey was pathetic too!) But to exclude a woman twice for her prepaid money is distasteful (the first case was when I had to change rooms from 6 beds to 6 beds which was also pointless)! I don't thank you for this negative and pitiful experience! Too bad the reception was quite promising in the beginning!
