Perfect atmosphere with very friendly staff. Plus a culinary experience with attention to detail. Our birthday evening was a complete package with humor and quality! Many thanks to the professional service, the chef and the pastry chef!

Amazing creativity and care in the preparation of this fine dining cuisine. Super delicious and nothing I could reproduce in my own kitchen. Masterful! Highly recommend for special attentiveness to our vegetarian family! I wish I had taken photos of the beautiful dishes!

The concept is convincing; Instead of starter, main course and dessert, there is a great selection of small dishes that can be combined as desired and tried together. Everything tastes exceptionally well coordinated and is presented in a very aesthetically pleasing way. Excellent open wines. Plus excellent friendly service. In return, people are happy to accept Zermatt prices.

So glad we decided to come here for dinner after reading reviews about the food. Each dish was impressive except the lamb dish which we were unsure about. Everything else was just balanced with flavours and super tasty! They did say they try to be fine dine, so what was lacking was the explanation of each dish by the server. You would usually get this at a fine dine place however this was not the case. If you come without expecting this service, then you'll be okay because otherwise the staff were friendly but perhaps not trained in how to present the food (which in our opinion is unfair to the chef given how delicately the food were presented and we can taste the effort behind each dish).

We were there for an aperitif. Good selection of open wines. Very comfortably furnished.

A very good cappuccino in a pleasant place. Pretty tables and a very pleasant view outside. Possibility of having a good breakfast. And possibility of eating at lunchtime and in the evening at the restaurant. The building is magnificent.

Exceptional service worthy of a great table. Delicious food with a very beautiful presentation. The only downside is that there might need to be a curtain in the downstairs room to limit the resonance of conversations between the tables. Otherwise MAGNIFICENT.

The Atelier Grandsire is an absolute MUST in Zermatt! Janine and her husband conjure up the most wonderful dishes and the atmosphere is so wonderful that we booked two evenings in a row. It simply couldn't be more perfect! 🥰 simply WONDERFUL for years!

This is the best meal I have ever had in Switzerland. Each dish was extremely delicate, with perfectly balanced flavors. The ravioli was fantastic, and the lobster ravioli was fresh and sweet, complemented by a rich broth. The ginger and lemongrass sauce with scallops was a stroke of genius. The lamb and Brazilian risotto were also authentic and delicious. The dessert was flawless, truly impeccable.

Lovely fine dining location with good value for money and great wines to choose from.

I have been to Michelin 1 and 2 star restaurants that are nowhere near as good as L'Atelier. This was one of our favorite dinners during our 9 days in Switzerland. The restaurant should have Michelin stars, it's that good! Every course was a visual and culinary delight. The restaurant has a fresh and cozy environment with a nice view out the windows of the area. Another huge plus is that the restaurant allows one person to order the tasting menu and others can order dishes off the menu. It's common for Michelin restaurants. They were flexible in how we crafted our 4 or 6 course tasting menu. I like tasting menus but my husband has some dietary restrictions so we were very happy to each get the experience we wanted. We loved our courses so much that we are going again tonight before we leave Zermatt. The owner was kind enough to jot down all the courses we had. to go along with my photos.

Phenomenal! I must return! If you eat meat, I recommend the pork belly as one of your dishes. The dishes are smaller, so expect to order 3-4 a la carte, or choose a surprise menu of 4 or 6. For dessert, I chose a cake from the patisserie. Such an exquisite dessert is a rare treat in Switzerland!

Food and ambience very good. The owner also acts as a host - but the waiter is not as friendly and attentive as the hosts.

The apex of fine dining in Zermatt Our party of seven thoroughly enjoyed the spectacular 4 course “Chef’s surprise” tasting menu prepared artfully by a future Michelin star Chef Yannick Grandsire. We dined in the second story open beam ceiling private dining room, with impeccable service by the absolutely delightful Janine Grandsire. Beyond the atmosphere and service, the food IS something to write home about, exceeding expectations at every course. Chef Yannick’s mixture of flavors, textures, and beautiful presentation are marvelous and memorable. I won’t list the menu here because the chef surprise menu changes, but each course (and the extras) were independently amazing. For the price charged, the value received was insane. We will return for certain.

Excellent food served with a smile

Food was decent but service was lacking. They suggested a wine I took a sip of and didn’t like, and wouldn’t let me exchange it. We paid 300 CHF for dinner for 3… it’s a nice place where each plate is 25 CHF and they charge a tip on top. Least they could have done is exchange my wine if they’re trying to be a hospitable restaurant. Totally muddied my experience sadly. Hope they change this practice in the future. Would not return. Edit: of course I don’t expect the restaurant to reuse my old wine. Just expected some hospitality from a high end restaurant. If it were a cheap, casual place I of course wouldn’t have even asked.

This was a great find! We saw the place, and thought it was just a coffee place but wow what a great find. The food was divine, the staff was super friendly and helpful and the whole place is decorated with exquisite taste. We ended up booking twice for different experiences. The second time we go to pre-order our 6-plate menu with the items we loved. Fab experience.

We have known this restaurant for several years and it is by far our favorite restaurant in Zermatt. We have already eaten lunch, afternoon snack, aperitif and evening meal. But here we came for breakfast....and it's absolutely extraordinary! Bread, croissant, pain au chocolat, homemade jams! Getting up at night. We deplored the fact that in Zermatt, we don't find any exceptional bakeries, but this is the right address. Absolutely worth testing. The best croissants and pain au chocolat (even the chocolate inside is homemade) far, far away! Thank you to Mr and Mrs Grandsire for their welcome and their kindness.

Visited twice last fall. We had dinner and it was an elevated experience for us. Having read the reviews before we knew that dinner would not be about the quantity of food but rather the quality. We find the reviews and the actual experience to be true. The freshness of ingredients, to the refined taste, to the beautiful plating, to the high service standards.. Everything was perfect. At another time we went in just for drinks and dessert. The cake was also very fine; it was pretty and well made. All in all a fantastic place if you are searching for a high quality and fine dining experience. Thank you!

We had dinner there when we took a trip to Switzerland in July. The portion of each food was very delicate. After eating three courses we were full, but could not resist having a dessert because all the desserts looked so tempting. If we had not gone to the restaurant at the last night in Zermatt, we would have gone there again.

Best patisserie in Zermatt, everything I've tried was just delicious. My favorite so far is the Lemon Meringue. You can see how much hard work goes into every single item. The waitresses are just as sweet. I will have to visit again for the savory menu.

We had an excellent experience here. The hostess accommodated out special request for a last minute 50th wedding anniversary, which we appreciated so much!! My husband managed to find the only romantic French restaurant in Zermatt. It’s recommended to take 3 mains and one dessert per person. It gives you the chance to try more for good value. The portions are smaller and delicately prepared, loved their starter and the white chocolate raspberry dessert at the end. The music in the background really makes it a complete romantic place. Highly recommend this gem.

Nice business on two floors. I went to this business to have a coffee. I find this café to be very well laid out and modern. It is well decorated and also has a very nice terrace. The staff were very responsive and had a smile, which is the hallmark of this café and the Zermatt resort.

To be honest... we came across this address by chance. And that's where chance does things well... it was exceptional!!!!! The setting, the staff, the menu, the concept and above all the quality of the dishes, a real experience in our beautiful Zermatt of which we are so proud. It was so good that we went back the next morning for breakfast. I highly recommend this exceptional address in Zermatt for much more than a meal, but a real experience.

Went here last Christmas. Returned twice more. Absolutely lovely place with warm staff and amazing food. Foie gras is a must try as is the lobster pasta (for lunch). They should serve this for dinner! Every pastry was good. Until now we’re still talking about this place.

Food was great I had the 4 course surprise menue. It was great, they even checked in on the timing and we had a great night. Maybe an other winecooler would be more appropriate than a plastic Bag which you can totally use outside but in the restaurant 🧐 other than that service, perople were great and they were dog friendly! 🙌🏻👏🏻 oh and the champagne pallet cleanser 😍❤️💪🏻

Top place in Zermatt! A hidden gem in the village. If you like fine dining you must go there. The dishes are excellent, the cuisine approaches perfection and this with a wide choice on the menu. Portions good, and good advice is given. Wine choice is wide, with the special feature that there are many open wines. The service (the lady serving this evening) in the restaurant is worth all the points: very knowledgeable, friendly and above all radiating hospitality. Thank you for this beautiful evening! Truly excellent experience - ambiance, food, service and value (relative to Zermatt). Recommend three entree/appetizers and a dessert. The coalfish, scallops and beef were all excellent. The food was beautifully plated. I strongly recommend the second floor for larger groups - a great, intimate and comfortable setting.

Wow!! Really friendly. I needed a reservation for 8 and had to make a few changes and they were really accommodating. The restaurant is beautiful and the artwork very interesting (I really liked the gold foil mountain range). Now to the food. The wine list is incredible and if you have the glasses you can try some very good wines at reasonable prices. The food was incredible, interesting, delicate, and delicious. We opted to share and that allowed us to try nearly everything on the menu and it was worth while. They also have really good vegetarian options. Desserts were just as good. Can’t decide which I liked better, the tiramisu or the rum ice cream. The handmade chocolates at the end were decadent. Thank you, I’ll be back.

Firstly the setting, very nice. The impeccable service and finally the meal, a real delight. As recommended, we took three dishes each (between 20.- and 30.-) and we did not regret it.
