Laucheren in Oberiberg

We have very rarely eaten so badly. Spaghetti was completely overcooked with an indefinable watery sauce that they sold as tomato sauce, the minced meat with the croissants was extremely bland and even the salad plate was a disappointment. Price/performance flop! 👎

Food was great. Everything from the region and prepared in-house. The staff tries very hard and is extremely friendly. We were there with a ski camp and everyone showed complete understanding for the kids. The fondue is particularly recommended! The ambience fits very well into the mountains. A little dated and yet modern and clean. The absolute highlight is the water hydrant as a water dispenser. Price/performance = top! We recommend. Hörnli with Ghackets was overcooked, the minced meat was just fried without any sauce or spices. Just add some grated cheese. Overall rather dry and tasteless. Also not beautifully presented and too expensive. Terrible!

The atmosphere was good and the staff were very friendly - unfortunately that doesn't help much given the poor quality of the food. Carrot soup was a disaster and had to be exchanged - unfortunately the second soup, ski stew, was edible but not enjoyable either! Price-performance unfortunately unsatisfactory

The carrot and ginger soup was probably expired. The skier's pot without taste and salt. Ghackets with croissants was acceptable, but visually very disappointing. The staff was generally very polite, but that doesn't help much when the food is so bad.

Unfortunately, food was an imposition. Great from previous experiences. What happened here? Soups for 14 and 16 francs were questionable...

We were disappointed. It was so good last year. The food was ok, not particularly good, but the price/performance ratio is no longer right. We'll try again, hopefully it was just bad luck.

Sustainability is very important here👍🏼 There is no food waste here because the portions are so big that not even children would be fed. But the food was very tasty!😋 super fast service. Otherwise everything is great, just adjust portion sizes to suit starving skiers ;) Free tap water top💪🏼

The staff was very friendly, attentive and in a good mood. The kitchen also does a good job, the food was very good🤤 I think it's great that you focus on a healthy diet. Simply top and at reasonable prices like in the entire ski area. I can only recommend👍

Food was horrible, tomato spaghetti tasted like onion sauce with a slight tomato flavor and overcooked pasta. Skier's pot was a broth with unidentifiable meat residues and poorly seasoned. Älplermagerones were very bad, no cheese and potatoes tasted expired. Cream? Probably more coconut milk.

Friendly and attentive service. The food is freshly prepared in-house and there is a selection of homemade lemonades. And they don't skimp on serving schnapps either.

Excellent mountain hut, more than that, mountain restaurant. In principle, the Laucheren is a traditional mountain/ski hut where you can get hearty mountaineering food at normal prices, but also more special things. The Laucheren tapas (e.g. homemade pickles or kimchi, local cheese and meat products, changing seasonally) are highly recommended. Overall, the quality of the food is exceptional. Sustainability is very important, so we buy locally as much as possible and make almost everything ourselves (e.g. ketchup). French fries, for example, are no longer available because deep fryers are energy guzzlers; Besides, homemade mashed potatoes are much better anyway. Another interesting thing is that the portions are rather small, but you can always get a free helping (and not just of the side dishes, but also of the meat!). So don't be alarmed if it doesn't look like much at first glance, you'll definitely get full and reduce food waste. The service is very friendly, the team is well-coordinated and the atmosphere is very good. One of the innkeepers, Richard, is a trained sommelier and for wine lovers it is worth asking about more special wines. The cellar is remarkably well stocked, even if there is no wine list, and the prices are more than fair. The location is pleasant; in winter the hut is on the descent to Laucheren. In summer it's a short, easy hike from the Laucheren car park or you can take the chairlift directly (about 50 m flat from the mountain station). You can also just sit in the sun for an afternoon and enjoy a good bottle of wine. One more thing: Since there have been new operators for about two years who have completely changed the concept, you should ignore older reviews. Google could adjust that.

The food is regional and fresh. So many ingredients are homemade / pickled (bread, pasta, sauces, vegetables, ice cream...) I love this concept and always enjoy coming here! To top it off, the friendly staff ❤️

We ended our day of skiing in the Laucheren restaurant with 20 people. From the first contact through to planning and implementation, Richard left nothing to be desired. The team puts a lot of heart and passion into looking after their guests. The whole thing is combined with simple, but very high-quality and imaginative cuisine, using exclusively regional products. The price-performance ratio with this service is unmatched. Dear Richard, dear team, Thank you again for this great afternoon/evening.

It's great that there are vegan/vegetarian selections and a very nice staff. There are 2 minus stars for the overpriced price and the portions that are far too small... A small plate of Älplermagrone for 24.- which is not filling is far too expensive.

Yesterday we were able to enjoy a lovely stay as a group event with very good food and great service in the Laucheren mountain restaurant. From the reservation, to the clarification, to the implementation, everything went very well. The entire Laucheren team is friendly, courteous and does everything they can to ensure guests have an unforgettable day. We'd love to come back.

We had lunch at Laucheren with a group of 150 persons during a company event. The experience was A+! The food was high class in taste and quality, service was amazingly fast and friendly, especially for a group this size. I would also like to mention that the organization before the event went very smooth, the owners went out of their way to make sure we get exactly what we want. Very friendly and professional communication, planning and execution. Thank you Richi and Sven!

Simply great! If every restaurant did the same thing with refilling, we would definitely have a lot less food waste. Great idea. I think it's great that the menu is a lot more creative than usual restaurants. The taste, service and price/performance are also simply top.

Great homemade soup. Easy to understand innkeeper, even for northern Germans. We got a tour of the cellar. Seen many many jars of canned soup. Climate neutral, regional, seasonal, top.

An all-round successful visit to Laucheren. After a great snowshoe tour on the Laucherenstöckli, we took plenty of time to eat a complete menu. Everything fresh and homemade from the creative menu - wonderfully different than anywhere else. Plus an excellent red wine and an absolute MUST HAVE of Kauserschmarrn for the sweet finale. We were served in a very friendly manner. Highly recommended!

Price/performance is great for Switzerland! When I'm on vacation in Oberiberg I only go there to eat my Kaiserschmarrn. Also the staff and management, can only be recommended!

I'm amazed that such economies still exist... A single chaos in the kitchen and service. Self-service with unrefilled drinks containers and cutlery box. Menus are out and need to be re-cooked? Oops, there are still a few plates showing up... And btw rely on vegan, organic etc but then use endless unnecessary plastic? Unfortunately, my Rübli-Inger soup didn't deliver what it promised - except warm. I think the hand blender has stopped working in the meantime... Well, luckily the staff was helplessly nice.

Nice snack bar to stop off while skiing. When the sun is shining you can relax on the terrace. The chairlift from Iberiberg arrives here. Starting point for skiing or for a walk, for example to Fuederegg or back to Oberiberg. The only thing that bothers me is the intrusive folk music.

We visited several times in summer/autumn 2022 and were very impressed by the offerings and the friendliness. Everything was freshly prepared and prepared with love. The Alpine tapas and the Kaiserschmarren were a real treat. We'll definitely come back in winter.

All dishes are either made fresh from organic vegetables and basic ingredients from local producers or come from the Laucherenkeller, a treasure trove of traditional preserving art. This doesn't just apply to edibles, no, the lemonades are also homemade. In terms of style, innovative ideas are combined with high-quality raw materials from regional suppliers. The porcini mushroom risotto was very fine, the boss was extremely friendly, the concept was everything where possible. I see that mer with Härzbluet and Freud coarsely.

Super nice restaurant. We had the tapas and loved it so much! Here you can find food that makes you happy! The fresh ingredients and especially the large selection of fresh herbs from our own herb garden were a dream. A big compliment to the service and the chef. The fermented ginger beer is awesome! There was no longer a breakfast buffet. Mrs. Peduzzi is no longer the landlady. There was only bread, butter and confi. Some of the butter was rancid.

The mountain restaurant has special, high-quality cuisine. If you're looking for Schnipo or minced meat with croissants, you better not go there. The staff was very friendly, accommodating and generous. We will make a detour to eat here on future tours in the area.

The first negative experience began down at the valley station, with a very unfriendly, unmotivated and slightly arrogant saleswoman. The student discounts are chosen arbitrarily; the advertised StuCard discount does not apply to sledgers. Unfortunately it didn't stay that way. The Restaurant Lauchern is by far the worst mountain restaurant I have ever seen. The operation is overwhelmed from A to Z. The landlord is very aggressive and arrogant. If you point this out to him, you will only get yelled at even more. The bar is pure chaos. Only the first name is disorganized. You have to wait 50 minutes for waffles. By the time the tea and coffee are made, the other drinks are already cold again. Unfortunately, we are extremely disappointed and will not recommend the ski area to others.

What's great: it has a vegan option on the menu. The taste was ok, but nothing special: rice with a few vegetables and tomato sauce. Plus point: if there wasn't enough, it will be refilled (if you ask, of course), which is more sustainable because: no food waste. The fries are good, but unfortunately the bread tasted a little like soap. Overall an interesting experience. Now it's back down the slopes!

Very expensive prices for self-service Älplermagronen very small portion and where was the advertised Mythen-Alphäs? Pasta, potatoes with applesauce, roasted onions and a dash of cream? I know the dish is usually very creamy, but here it's pure lake. A pity Above all, everything is advertised as homemade and fresh, but don't be mistaken, that doesn't do the prices justice. Definitely fresh, but fresh doesn't necessarily mean a treat for the palate. The over-salted barley soup, which was nothing other than barley with bouillon and a little something else I know, wasn't good either. Nobody cares about the overflowing ashtrays and wiping the tables is probably only done once a day. Only the chocolate mousse was very tasty.

Super good food on a super cool day of skiing

February 2022: Breaded chicken is burnt and the meat is tough. The garlic sauce that came with it hardly tasted like garlic. The portion is very small and you can hardly feel full with the few fries that came with it. The price of 29 CHF is very exaggerated. In addition, we wanted to pay with a lunch check from Fenaco, which didn't work even though it was advertised. Nevertheless we had to pay the 73 CHF for the entire menu. The staff didn't really care either. Very disappointing but I can't recommend it.

So I'm not like that normally and I mainly rate things that I liked. But the visit here was a particular disappointment. The selection in the self-service restaurant is poor. Where is the great burger and fries that I saw in the pictures? The full-bodied Älplermaggronen with tasty Alpine cheese were 08/15. Rather tasteless, quite salty. The applesauce was ok and the onions on top were good but not much. The price for this is even more at Fr. 25.—. According to my son, the completely fried, carelessly produced schnitzel bread with a lot of dark brown breading and little meat was, according to my son, completely dry, lukewarm to cold and, at CHF 13.00, also too expensive. The homemade Huustee was very good and recommended. Sorry, I'm not used to that in Ybrig. Poor selection, not exactly great food at prices like in St. Moritz. Makes me sad and been there for a long time.

Price ok for pedestrians. No GA or half-fare card valid. Nice and helpful staff at the chairlift. Restaurant pleasant inside and fast service. There are enough seats outside. Toilet easily accessible, no stairs. I'd love to come back, but unfortunately there's no great opportunity to do anything on foot. Sledging isn't really for me. Bus connection very good.

The best restaurant in Hoch Ybrig

It was a really nice day sledding. We spent the lunch break having a delicious lunch with homemade pasta and a delicious barley soup. The landlord was very nice and we had a great chat 😊 we would love to come back.

Huge, free parking, direct access to the chairlift, super convenient.

It was sensational. Starting with the extremely friendly and courteous host, continuing with the large selection of menus (meat, vegetarian AND VEGAN!) to the lively live music. It has to be said that it is also very animal friendly! Both the indoor and outdoor areas offer idyllic views of the Swiss mountains - at their best! I can recommend it to everyone :-) I will definitely be back!

The perfect place to stop off, whether before or after a long day of hiking or skiing. Great live music, fast and extremely courteous service and the menu is convincing in every respect. The chef knows how to accommodate every request and also offers vegan options at any time. Gladly again!
