Nice setting just by the lake. Food OK'ish but not wow for the price range. Service could be improved and more welcoming for visitors if they want to be on the map. I noted a big difference in the approach with locals compared to visitors.

We arrived before the kitchen had opened and so the very friendly staff told us where else we could go to get some warm food! We came back later to enjoy some ice cream here to thank them for the great service!

Very poorly received by the waitress. She seemed annoyed by our presence. We left immediately even though we hadn't even placed our order. Too bad... because the place is very nice. I cannot recommend this place enough.

Terrible service... yet in the middle of the tourist season. French staff not up to Swiss minimum standards.

We read the great reviews and looked at the menu before we arrived online. The hostess however was unfortunately very rude. Said there was no food and no menu. It could have been partly the language barrier, perhaps it was between service times? Not sure. There was no effort on her part to explain. My wife knows enough French to be able to tell that she was rude and judging us in French. We left. If your local, maybe it’s a great spot. I wouldn’t know.

Beer Cafe in a charming little town in the Swiss Alps, sitting by the lake on a pleasant sunny day, has light dishes, coffee, beers and delicious sweets.

I won't go anymore, too often unwelcome. We really have the impression that it's too easy to get customers so they don't care about serving them well.

The reception in this restaurant is disastrous. 7 of us came in the middle of the afternoon to eat dessert and have a drink. The terrace was half empty. Apparently it is more important to clear empty tables than to serve customers. We were also encouraged to go and consume elsewhere, which we did. This is not the first time that we have tested this very attractive terrace thanks to its view of the lake but it is not enough. The service is disappointing every time, it is systematically slow, and very unfriendly. It was the last time I let myself be influenced by the pretty view. I prefer to encourage people who do their job well.

I thought the staff were very welcoming, and were flexible enough to divide a salad into two half portions for the people I was dining with. I had a lovely croûte au fromage which was an excellent way to refuel after a day hiking.

there were 4 of us, we waited for at least 20 mins before calling a waiter to order the aperitif even though 2 tables arriving after us had already been served. The service is pitiful, no motivation except for the regulars apparently, menus not very big and not even what we wanted to eat. Very disappointed avoided this place

Waited for 20 minutes on the terrace without a hello, nor did we care about the order, the table at which we sat was not even cleared even though we had voluntarily gathered everything in one place so that it was visible. During the time we were there, we were able to observe the operation of the waitress: she cleared an empty table and saw us at that moment, as well as a family of 4 seated at the next table in the same conditions that we. She pretended to come towards us and changed her mind, sighing conspicuously. Then, she brought back her loaded tray and came back, but not towards us... She cleared other empty tables where no one was seated and started serving other people who arrived after us. After 20 minutes, we left, as did two young women who arrived after us and the neighboring family. The setting is nice but it's not everything... There are a lot of people, especially with this heat so perhaps we should consider putting more staff to work... or hiring some who want to work.

Welcome more than limited, salad with gravel, barely defrosted pastries, all this accompanied by a price corresponding to a gourmet. Absolutely avoid!

Despite the very good location, the prices are fair. And you will even be looked after indirectly by the boss. The entrecotte is very good for 27chf.

What a pleasure to have been able to eat on the terrace again on November 12, in the sumptuous autumnal setting of Lake Champex! A good menu, served with kindness.

Unfortunately terribly slow service, after being seated at a still uncleared table and over 30 minutes of waiting, we decided to get up and leave. Maybe the food is worth it, but the customer service needs to be reviewed in any case. Despite everything, very nice terrace.

The restaurant is unassuming and seemingly a local stop off. The food is by far the best I have ever eaten anywhere. Incredible, interesting- just WOW! By pass the fancier looking locales and come for the best meal of your life!

Great place, the only problem was twice on site, once for an aperitif and the other time to eat and the waiter during the bill forgot both times to tip part of the order so really not nice to have to ask for something.
