The best fondue I've ever had!!! Service is so lovely and efficient. All dishes are tasteful.. I just have to recommend this place!

We enjoyed a dessert of raspberries with double cream and a double cream pie of Gruyère, they were phenomenal. The raspberries were exceptional quality and the pie was perfection.

As the restaurant has been relocated due to work, you have to go upstairs to a store to access it. So we had a bit of trouble finding and arriving. There were no other customers. However, we were there at 1 p.m. on a Saturday. We still decided to settle in and we were very positively surprised. The service was fast, the fondue delicious and the waitress friendly. I have never eaten such a good fondue in my life, it was not cloying at all. I sincerely advise you to go for it even if the absence of customers can be chilling at first, we had a wonderful experience stopping at this restaurant.

Delicious food, beautiful view, but the service was inacceptable... The person called Manuella was really unpleasant during all the service. Not smiling at all, very cold. And when we had to check the bill, she looked at us and express his discontent in an autaine way just because we asked to split the check between the 4 persons. Sad to see that everything was perfect but that...

Excellent food, best fundue I've ever eaten, the service, however, leaves a lot to be desired, it takes a long time to serve the table. When we finished, it took half an hour to remove the plates and another twenty minutes to order dessert.

The worst restaurant I ate in in Switzerland... Although well noted we had trusted the Google reviews but nothing was going well.. We had booked for 7 people and we had shared dishes that were tasteless and expensive! I took a mixed grill and the meat had no taste, no accompaniment except a large quantity of sauces. The only thing we remembered was the “le fou du roi” beer which we took because there was no draft beer on sale. Very disappointed !

Unique restaurant in the beautiful medieval town of Gruyere. Magnificent restaurant with impeccable service. Typical local food, abundant...spectacular mountain views. Highly recommended.

In a beautiful setting, the best raclette, fondue and dry meat in Switzerland are being served by a wonderful staff. Keep some room for the amazing deserts too.

The stay was great for just a short overnight stay. The room is really small, the bathroom is a great size. Cleaning needs to be improved in the rooms.

Worst culinary experience in Switzerland... tasteless food, excessive price given the (non-existent) quality of the products, expeditious service... I am very surprised by the positive opinions on this restaurant... I strongly advise against this restaurant which does not reflect the good products and Swiss reception. The macaroni are boiled with potatoes in milk... the grilled meat is reduced to roughly cut pieces without seasoning or accompaniment, worse than that the blood sausage or the sausage (we cannot say which it was) had a bad taste. I am not in the habit of commenting so harshly on a restaurant but clearly it would be necessary to question ourselves.

Warm welcome, attentive waitresses whether with us or with our dogs. The fondue was incredible! We recommend.

It is recommended for both its decoration and taste. 5 of us ordered two fondue and were very satisfied. It comes with bread, pickled silver onion, pickled gherkin and baby potatoes. If I'm not mistaken, 1 fondue was 29 CHF. They bring the bread as soon as it runs out. The environment is nice. The lower floor is a souvenir shop and the upper floor is a restaurant. We loved the plates and the pattern of the paper placemat.

We had the fondue which was excellent with a creamy texture served with potatoes and bread. For dessert we tried the Gruyères specialty which is the double cream meringue which is to die for. The setting is pleasant with a beautiful view of the castles. The waitresses in traditional clothes were very attentive to us. I recommend.

Fondue, raclette and macaroni were so good. Service was amazing and food was served quickly. It’s a shame soup du chalet was out so we didn’t get to try it.

Le Chalet de Gruyères is much more than a restaurant, it's an authentic experience in the heart of Gruyères village. Swiss chalet architecture adds a charming touch, with a two-storey restaurant. The renovated old barn upstairs offers a cosy atmosphere with period tools, while downstairs, the 'Bistro' offers beautiful wooden tables. Despite the crowds, the welcome is impeccable. It is advisable to book in advance to guarantee your place. The specialities, in particular the "Moitié moitié" (fondue with half Swiss Gruyère and half Vacherin Fribourgeois), are a real delight. The classic 100% Gruyère fondue is also a must. For the hungrier eaters, the dried meat punnets are an excellent accompaniment. And let's not forget, for dessert, the famous Gruyère meringues with double cream, a real treat for the taste buds! I highly recommend this establishment. Reservation essential, despite everything and without reservation as a couple we were lucky to have a small table and enjoyed an incredible fondue with small potatoes and bread. It's simply the best we've eaten 👌

I had never been charged 6 CHF for tap water before…that was the worst thing. Despite this, food was good for average price and the service was fast and very kind.

Generous and authentic Swiss cuisine. The terrace offers a magnificent view. The service is rude but ultimately pleasant.

Impeccable welcome and service, warm decoration and waitress outfits that put you straight in the mood. For our first stay in Gruyère, we absolutely wanted to taste a local fondue and the Fondue AOP du Château is the best we have tasted! We highly recommend!

If you want to go to medieval Europe, I think this is the place to go. We lived in France within Switzerland. We thought it really differed from canton to canton, but I didn't expect this much. It's as if people are not Swiss, but French from ancestors and grandfathers. It's a very beautiful city. It was incredibly beautiful, whether it was the music on the streets during Christmas, the decorations or that medieval atmosphere. Definitely worth a visit. Definitely try the cheese fondue here. When you first enter the place, you will be hit with a disgusting, intense smell of cheese, but once your nose gets used to it within 5 minutes, you will feel relieved. It's the homeland of cheese 👍🏻 but it's a little expensive. A cheese fondue was 32 CHF when we went. Meanwhile one person can never finish. That's why you should eat one fondue for two people. You will be satisfied and you will not spend money in vain.

Very nice cheese fondue with bread, potatoes, pickles and shallots. It was CHF29 per person. The view from the window was beautiful! The atmosphere was cozy too.

Very good 100% Vacherin fondue. Very expeditious service, as if the tables had to be freed as quickly as possible. we feel that it is a tourist restaurant. Otherwise very pretty setting with the deer and doe below.

Unique Gruyères experience& Amazing meal!! Fondue over the top, scrumptious “soupe de chalet” and breathtaking chestnut vermicelli dessert. 1000calories of pure pleasure! I strongly recommend!!!

Although the place/restaurant was not the original, due to a fire in the restaurant (according to information given to us at the scene), it had good conditions and an atmosphere. As for the location, it is worthy of spending a good few hours enjoying the landscapes and medieval atmosphere. We love it so much

Excellent fondue served with pickles bread and potatoes. The service is very good and our beagle Snoopy was welcomed with smiles and caresses.

A little expensive for what it offers, fondue and boiled potatoes cost far too much for us Italians. Nice place, location and atmosphere.

Really tasty, cheese fondue 30€

I think we came on the wrong day. Very expeditious despite the friendly welcome, the fondue was too thick and we felt that it was time to leave. In 50 minutes we had barely eaten and left.... too bad.

On a day trip to Gruyeres, this is a lovely restaurant to have lunch. Really good cheese fondue and raclette. Leave some space for dessert of double cream with raspberries.

Excellent fondue. Currently in another location due to renovation. Be careful there, you will be charged for the carafe of water while you consume wine, fondue, etc. Never before seen even the waitress was not for it. A priori a directive from management. But go there with your eyes closed for a good fondue.

The BEST fondue I’d ever had, and incredible views of the alps from the terrace. I thought I’d be disappointed that I didn’t get to eat at the Chalet (due to recent fire damage) but the ambience at the Table De Chevaliers was arguably better. Highly recommend!

Our first meal in Gruyeres ended up being one of the best. If you stay at the hotel it's a 10% discount and they can make a reservation for you ahead of your stay. The best desserts in town, and probably the best fondue, a great place to try for all the things you want (cheese and double cream).

Nice restaurant with very good service and atmosphere. It's options are limited to basically fondue and raclete. It's prices were also a bit higher than expected even though this is a touristic place. Overall we liked it but not really enthusiastic about it.

The place is exceptional and the view magnificent, the waitresses are also adorable. Everything is good and fresh, but the fondue lacked a little taste, on the other hand an incredible texture from start to finish. We still had a great time, a great time!

For tourists who don't know fondue, really bad

This is one of my favorite childhood restaurants in Switzerland. It actually became an annual summer family tradition to dine in Chalet de Gruyères.

Very beautiful place! A superb view from the terrace. The fondue is delicious and the atmosphere is warm (it costs around thirty Swiss francs per person for the fondue). I recommend !

The original place is undergoing renovations and you can eat at another one on the outskirts of town. It is essential to eat a fondue here, and even better on the outside terraces with spectacular views of the mountains. The waitresses speak Spanish.

It was perfect ! The fondue is excellent, nice selection of wine. I recommend the Denmark Cup for dessert. Quiet place with a more than pleasant view :)

Very good fondue and raclette. Concerning the service, initially courteous then when you ask for something more, nothing works. We just asked for a jug of water and after 20 minutes still nothing. The famous carafe was thrown at the edge of the table after more than 20 minutes and several requests. We don't ask you if everything went well unlike other other customers and neither thank you nor goodbye at the end. I exempt you from the smiles. Fortunately the dishes saved the day.

Good food and good fondeu, but the service was very very slow and there were almost no people!

We have ordered macaronis du chalet de gruyeres that they bring out on a stove and they were delicious, the desserts are also a delight! Raspberries and vanilla ice cream

Still as good despite 2 or 3 dishes which are not reproduced at the knights' tables! But we much prefer the original location of the Gruyère chalet, can't wait for the work to be completed!

We dined at the Table des Chevaliers, which belongs to the Hôtel de Gruyères. The service is very friendly, in traditional costume. The interior is very pretty, with a view of the castle. Excellent 100% gruyere fondue, plate of roast beef also very good. For sweets, several desserts served with the famous Gruyères cream cup. Fair value for money. A very good address !

Outstanding. Since it was closed for renovations, they referred us to Le Table de Chavaliers, where they have the same menu and that is where they are supposed to be until they reopen. The experience was great. We ordered a fondue of 3 for 4 and we were full because the portions are generous. The fondue includes bread, potatoes, chives and pickles, at 29 francs per serving. For dessert, some raspberries with cream and homemade cake. To drink, after ordering a drink, they don't charge you for the jug of water and they refill it whatever you want. Added to all this are great views of Gruyeres Castle and excellent service from the waiter. Highly recommended.

Had fondue lunch here when in Gruyere. Perfect atmosphere at the edge of a historic town. The building is a lovely old stone building that adds to the atmosphere. The service was very good. Typical Swiss service style, so be ready for not alot of attention or follow-up. More functional than pleasant. The food was good, but some of the descriptions on the menu were inaccurate. We ordered charcuterie and had the ham placed on a dish with some vegetables. Not what we wanted, but we ate the ham. The fondue was rich and creamy. It is served with potatoes for dipping. We also used the bread. Truly enjoyed it. We shared a couple deserts, the one that had too much liquor in it. Probably would not order desert again. Everything was just right for our lunch and it was an amazing experience. Another "American" observation: the bathrooms are downstairs, down a winding stone staircase with no railing. I held it until I could use the bathroom at the hotel next door.

Good Fondue in terms of taste, the chalet burned on the other hand so normal decor and above all a shame, 4 Swiss francs for a carafe of water! I find it shameful, I do not recommend!

I really liked the Gruyere fondue, the cheese was excellent. The employee Manoela, who speaks Portuguese, was very nice and kind. Fondue is different from what we have in Brazil, as it is common to have meat and chicken in Brazilian fondue, as well as fruit and chocolate, but in Switzerland I realized that, everywhere, this is not common. Here the fondue consists of potatoes, bread, cucumbers and onions. It's standard.

The classic chateau was closed for renovations, so we dined in the temporary location next to the hotel. Excellent that they will serve a single portion of fondue👏 Every other restaurant we've seen requires minimum two portions. As visitors, and want to try as many different Swiss delicacies as possible. So one can order a single fondue, the other can order something else 😀 The staff was very nice to us. Thanks for a lovely meal
