The best meal I have had in Grand Junction! I have time and time again been sorely disappointed by the “good” restaurants in downtown GJ after moving here from the St. Louis area, but every aspect of my meal was incredible at Le Rouge. I wish I would have come here sooner. Excellent martinis, appetizer, meal, and dessert. My husband and I will definitely be back.

Eating here was an amazing surprise. This is possibly the finest dining in the valley, and the nicest I've had. The Escargot and crab cakes were fantastic, and we deeply enjoyed the scallops. Highly recommended 5 star..

This was the first time I have been here and I am so sad now I didn’t come sooner! I was truly skeptical about French food in Junction.. but it was truly amazing! I hadn’t had escargot since my first visit to France and this rivaled that. It was perfect. The herbs. The garlic. Cooked to perfection. I would come back again and again to just have the escargot and bread. The French onion soup was also on point. No where else in junction does a French onion soup right. The onions were like butter. My boyfriends meal was spot on. He got the scallops and couldn’t stop talking about how perfectly cooked they were. The Opéra cake for dessert was perfect. We spoke with the (owner/chef?) on the way out and he was very nice. Our server was nice but did not pace the food appropriately, which was mildly annoying. She also wasn’t as knowledgeable as the other server. So we ended up listening the the other server talk to her tables. However both those things can be addressed with training and didn’t ruin the night. Overall a wonderful night.

VERY DISAPPOINTED! I'm not sure if I'll be constipated or I'll have diarrhea. We ordered the rack of lamb, medium. The "rack" was actually only 2 pieces and their "medium" is actually barely warm enough to be considered rare. In fact mine was still cold in the center. The general manager wanted to argue the doneness of our meat even after I showed her the raw cold center. Our drinks took about 25 minutes and our waitress had to step in to help the bartender because she was probably put back smoking. Our waitress did a great job of carrying our order to our table but I'm still upset that food was sent to the table knowing that it was way under done. The restaurant was only serving 2 other tables and was not busy.

Cool resturant, cool bar.. Sorry. Trying to support local, but this is single-handedly the worst "French" restaurant I've ever had the misfortune of enduring. I'm from Europe and none of this stuff woul ever disgrace a table. All if this could have been overcome and written off as COVID, but then the owner came to the front bar and, directly in front of us berated his poor bar tender. She nodded and walked off, but he followed her, grabbing at her and telling her repeadly and aggressively not to cry. It was the most inappropriate thing i have ever see, let alone in in a so-called professional resturant. We spoke up and told him it was inappropriate and asked him to stop, but he told us we didn't know him. We were disgusted and left. Do not support his bully. If he does this in public, lord knows what he does in private. 2020 should have taught us all that bad food can be overcome, but this type behavior is fully totally and completely inappropriate.

Everything was excellent! So glad we stopped in. The service was superb, ambience is amazing, lighting, decorations, table settings all very nice. I ordered a really great cocktail. I don't remember the name of it but it had grapefruit vodka and st. germaine in it and it was mixed perfectly. I ordered the sea scallops and everything on my plate was delicious. The wild rice and ratatouille were yummy and the scallops were like butter and cooked to perfection. Prices were great for the experience. I highly recommend Le Rouge.

Yes I notice another review complaining about the Onion Soup, beside being very small cup size, at $14 Dlls a cup, the soup vas very bad, bitter-acid, not spoiled but like they pickle the onions and use tons of A1 sauce type. Owner Change this soup, people don't complain out to be polite but I am sure none is crazy about your onion soup.

We booked 5 weeks in advance and weren't even seated at a full service table. I understand when a restaurant is busy but it took 2 hours to even get an appetizer let alone the entrees. The entrees were ok at best, with dry chicken and imroperly cooked steak and duck, this may be biased given the additional hour wait for the food but it was not appetizing at the time. When the owner opened the back door while it was frigid outside and then complained about my brother "being rude" by asking if if he could close the door half way I was done with the whole experience. I also found out that the chef was drunk the whole time from several regulars that stopped by to chat and was told repeatedly that "oh, sorry we forget your back here." It was even more of a disappointment given the fact that I ran into several friends while there. To be fair the server was delightful and apologetic. To top off the night a 20% gratuity was included automatically with the full price after having to ask where the appetizers were and the apps were given for free to friends of mine at the bar while I was standing there. We we're then told they were out of our order; which we switched and waited another 45 min for. My whole table was pleasant throughout and I feel as though that was taken advantage of.

He took us to a table behind the bar, not in the quieter, less busy dining area (despite asking us if we were there for a full dinner). We were sat at a TINY table for two. It was a SMALL bar table. He filled our glasses with luke warm tap water and said he would be back for our orders. I opted for the Lobster and Filet for $50, and my wife got the Salmon FIlet. He brought us some bread after about 10min, and then we realized that we didn't have napkins. We had just run out of water and when he came back my wife ordered a drink, and we expected him to bring some water. Our water glasses were empty and it took him almost another 10min to fill them. He apologized and said that the bar was backed up and they were busy and "I will get to you when I can" !!!!!! My wife and I just stared at each other in awe! Of course the bar was backed up, she was serving tables, making drinks, and let's not forget hanging out and chatting with friends next to the bar, or with people sitting in the back. Oh yes, the people in the back. There were couches behind my wife, and the group behind her were talking about some of the most inappropriate and disgusting things. They were SO loud that we gave up trying talk to each other, we sat across from each other texting. After about 40min our meals finally arrived. Her Salmon was not what she was expecting at all, and my mine wasn't really either. I either expected a slightly larger steak, or more lobster. Instead I got MAYBE two Tablespoons of Lobster covered in sauce that had so much pepper it burned my mouth! It was completely inedible! It looked like there were whole peppercorn in the sauce! My steak, while cooked to the correct color, was NOT juicy at all. The outside was kind of tough. The menu said it would have a Bearnaise. I guess that was the sauce on the Lobster. I DID see that it said "Peppercorn Bearnaise", and I've had it elsewhere and it wasn't made with 99% pepper! The potatoes under the steak did NOT soak up the juices, and the black stuff under the potatoes was also pepper flavored. The little tomatoes tasted as if they were cooked with shrimp. As for my wife's. You can see all the pepper on her plate, and there was so much on and in the salmon that she spent half the meal trying to scrape it off. For all the pepper, I could have used a bit of salt, but there was no salt to be found. You know what else wasn't found, a steak knife! I've been places where you could use a fork, or butter knife to cut the steak, so I tried them. NOT EVEN CLOSE! We ate what we could, and as much as I LOVE Creme Bruele I wasn't about to give them any more money, we paid our bill and walked to Bin 707 for dessert and more drinks (which were both served in about 5min). All in all, this is hands down the worse dining experience I've had in Grand Junction. My wife and I thought we'd try something different, a little nicer, and it was a disaster. This is NOT an upscale place, but they sure love to charge you like it!

However at the point we received our food and ate is where this became a 1 star reviews. My wife and I both ordered the lamb. My wife's lamb was undercooked however mine was perfect. The seasoning and flavor however was the most pitiful excuse for lamb it has been my displeasure to eat. It tasted as if it had been seasoned to death and there was so much pepper on it I could not even taste the meat past the whole peppercorns I was trying to eat around. It was over sauced with their mint yogurt covering and the rice they used as a plating bed tasted like uncle bens from city market but far more bland. Ultimately I was extremely disappointed given the price of this plate and would not recommend eating their lamb.

They have a crepes/appetizers/desserts menu available for the lounge side of the restaurant, and a full menu for the fine dining side featuring everything from charcuterie and escargots to roasted duck breast and étouffée. Two others in our party had tuna and asked it for it rare. There was no sign of pink anywhere in the little strips of tuna on their plate. Sadly we will not ever return to this restaurant. We'll be going back to The Winery restaurant down the street where they know how to cook their food and the service is amazing.
