Les Enfants Terribles in La Chaux-de-Fonds

Les Enfants Terribles is always a good idea when you ask yourself “Where could we eat this evening in La Chaux-de-Fonds?” Despite team changes, the menu has hardly changed since the restaurant's beginnings, so the chef has perfect mastery of all the recipes. Even if we could expect a little more variation, we know what we will get and we are never disappointed. The side salad remains a must and as the prices are more than fair, we always let ourselves be tempted by a dessert. In short, an address true to itself where we like to return from time to time. Also tested in a large group: the service was efficient and the food was still good. Hat!

A simple and relaxed place, the cuisine is sophisticated and tasty for a reasonable price (especially when you are lucky enough to be invited 😉). I highly and happily recommend it.

Good restaurant, a little expensive

The poultry dish I ordered was delicious, the poultry was cooked and seasoned perfectly. The lemon tartlet for dessert was also a real treat, with a refreshing lemon flavor. The service was impeccable, the staff were attentive and friendly, which helped make the whole experience memorable. Additionally, the ambiance of the restaurant was warm and welcoming.

We ate during the week on a Wednesday. We ate very well there. The waitress was very friendly and smiling. The waiter (maybe the boss) made us a little stressed about the service... we said to ourselves that perhaps he wanted to release the haunch not too late. But after eating it was all good and we were able to finish peacefully.

Taken the daily menu. Excellent and above all there is a very good collective salad served before.

Good food, I recommend Italian dishes, average meat. Beautiful terrace high up so without the road next to it. Average price.

Salad with goat cheese. Delicious sauce, salad and crème brûlée, very pleasant and fast service (specified that we only had an hour break).

We had an excellent evening in this pretty restaurant with its warm decor. The dishes were delicious but not very filling which allowed us to also taste the desserts! We will come back with pleasure.

Very friendly setting and ideally located in the town of La Chaux-de-Fonds. We were well received by coming with a person in addition to the reservation (call to let us know if this is your case! :)). The dishes were very good and served with a small salad as a starter which is always a pleasure! I highly recommend this place.

Incredibly good food, magnificent menu and reasonable prices. On the other hand, customers are often closely seated even though there is room in the restaurant and it is nicer not to eat next to strangers.

The dishes were good and well presented. The value for money is great! Some points of improvement: - have more choice in wine, especially with local wines. - the waiter lacked tact. - industrial ice cream scoops.

My friend and I got there at about 11h20. We were asked if we wanted to be served early and said yes but it was after 12 when our meals arrived. It worked out OK time wise but we would have most likely ordered a dessert if we'd had our meal earlier. Excellent "Chasse" menu and a nice glass of wine, though, so will definitely be returning.

A little disappointed, there were large tables and therefore not enough serving staff. Felt a little forgotten. Nice plates but not much on them.

Unfortunatelly that‘s nothing worse that 1 star All Starts with the Service that is laughing in the Face for no reason and it continues with the seafood that you can not Even Touch, I will not say to eat it… The prawns were proprelly old and desgusting… A Soup that was Served that make the appetit away… The Service not Even Try to understand the situation, only the Chef was looking me in the eyes and make me understood that there is Not quality at all I could say this without regret because I know what Gastronomie Means

A restaurant that has been there for decades......I haven't been there in a very long time. Really very pleasant, good food, good wines, very friendly service. All at very reasonable prices. I highly recommend and will return.

About twenty years ago... I ate the best truffle gnocchi there accompanied by grilled duck fillets... A delight that I recommend to any food lover! 20 years later.. Still on the menu.. Gnocchi with truffle sauce! And even though now I live 1h30 from this restaurant... I go back there as soon as I feel like eating gnocchi! About twenty years ago.. Attentive service, superb terrace, careful presentation of the dishes. Good selection of daytime menus at good value for money, and a varied evening menu. The lavender crème brûlée and salted caramel panna cotta are wonderful.

Very friendly welcome, the room immerses in a pleasant and warm atmosphere, the terrace is particularly spacious and pretty. On the culinary side, we also had a lot of fun. The salads served in the salad bowl invite conviviality and the dishes were simple, unpretentious and delicious. The ice creams are also very good and the frozen absinthe soufflé was a total success for me. We will come back !

Very disappointed Greek salad not great and apart from the feta and an olive a little cucumber everything else has nothing to do in a Greek salad, morel sauce not good at all and Italian specialty with eggplant zero missing the tomato to the recipe so nothing to do with it..friendly welcome only good point..personally I will never set foot in this restaurant again

Salmon carpaccio as a starter unfortunately frozen, so a little disappointed. Good cordon bleu with monk's head, however there were literally 4 pieces of vegetables on the side, a little disappointing also. Magnificent terrace though!

After some problem, this restaurant can welcome young and old people, couples or group of friends. Food is tasty.

Don't go there with the gourmet passport! You will not be entitled to a carafe of water (even if you take wine) and the wine will be carelessly placed on the table, it's up to you to help yourself... The carpaccio is very tasty, but the tuna dish (probably frozen) is a complete failure.

A nice place with warm decor and rather neat cuisine. If the menu has been unchanged for years, the prices and portion sizes are inversely proportional. It remains a pleasant place however.
