Leuegärtli in Zürichsee (ZH)

Great restaurant in a privileged location in Meilen.

We stopped for an aperitif in the winter garden, which was created during the renovation of the kitchen in the Löwen. The place, which is known as "Leugärtli" in summer, has been lovingly converted into a winter garden. In the evening there is raclette and fondue, but also the tried and tested Leue burger or the usual hot stone.

A great boss and a strong team. Good food and casual guests.

The garden pub right by the lake is cozy and beautiful. The food ok. It would be better if it didn't sit on the buffet under the heat lamp for 10 minutes after preparation. The service is very, very slow, unfortunately. The wine prices are fair, the wines are absolutely fine.

Totally ok, I'll probably go again. But: the three menus looked almost the same. Only the baked potato had different toppings (minced meat, cheese or vegetables). Vegan means: you simply leave out the cheese. They do not have milk alternatives such as oat drink or soy drink for coffee.

The food was good and very fairly priced. The service was outstanding. Our server was beyond compare: attentive, helpful, friendly, and knowledgeable about allergies—everything one could hope for from a server. She truly gave us exceptional service with a smile. The restaurant is also gluten-free friendly. We look forward to coming back!

Perfect evening in the beautiful Leuengärtli. Marcel and Anja are very committed and warm hosts. I really appreciate the vegan dishes. If there were a vegan alternative to the children's menu in the future (e.g. plant-based nuggets) that would be great. Ambiance and service are also good.

Missed opportunity. Such a great location but poor menu, low budget ingredients mediocre service. The prices are standard swiss ones, but really not justified for the offering. We ordered the simplest items and the salad was soaked in a condiment I didn’t ask for, the quarte lemon accompanying the other dish was weirdly colored and possibly rescued from another customer. It’s a nice position so just have a drink and enjoy the view, spend your lunch/dinner money elsewhere on the gold-coast

Our dinner today in the beautiful "Leuegärtli" was a bit disappointing. At the aperitif, some of the mint leaves in my Hugo were completely brown. The waitress became aware of this when she wanted to fill my glass with water where I had “disposed” of the leaves. I got a new drinking glass and at least an “Äxgüsi”. The nachos for starters were very tasty. I ordered the Leue burger because I thought it was so good last time. Unfortunately today the bread was very rubbery and the burger and fries were lukewarm at best. We communicated this to the waitress, who at least apologized and thanked us for the feedback. The chocolate cake was very tasty and we can also recommend the cuvée. Overall, it was a sobering experience after we had already been there a few times, including after our civil wedding two years ago. I hope to have a more positive experience on my next visit!

Hotel Restaurant Zum Löwen has a very beautiful lakeside terrace with umbrellas and small, well-maintained chestnut trees. Very good selection of food and drinks, very friendly service. At 35°C it was great to endure here. Ferry dock about 100m miles away.

On a beautiful Thursday lunchtime outside the restaurant, not fully occupied. The service was not friendly, inattentive. The meat in the burger is not cooked through. Salad with boring industrial sauce. No questions asked why I was giving half back. Nobody can do anything about the sometimes enormous street noise.

First of all, you should always take a look at yourself, especially if you grew up in Horgen, have taken the ferry to Miles what feels like 10,000 times and have just driven past this great and beautiful restaurant every time instead of stopping in there. But last Sunday we finally did it and were really extremely satisfied! A very interesting and unusual menu was immediately handed to us after we changed tables twice because of too much noise from children. Afterwards it was really excellent and the dishes we chose couldn't be beaten in terms of freshness. The service was excellent, extremely friendly and yet not intrusive. The beautiful rooms did the rest and of course I sneaked around everywhere and discovered two fantastic halls on the upper floor with beautiful woodwork and inlays that really took you back to another era. Unfortunately, there are only a few parking spaces directly behind the house and if you don't know the restaurant in advance, these parking spaces are unfortunately not marked on the front. I bought a 300g beef fillet and it was absolutely on point and the person I was talking to ate fish and was also very satisfied and it was also nice that there was real mineral water from another place and not the Valser that is offered everywhere else Water. So in all details we can only recommend it and will definitely go there again soon to let ourselves be pampered like we did just last Sunday.

After 10 minutes I have been told the wine I choosen was not there and I could only order a second one after 20 minutes, nobody came to ask. by 2030 pm we did not receive any food and about 5 minutes later, we received the mains and they forgit the entry. The restourant I have to say was too busy, only 3 waiters and 2 cooks. the mood was stressy, all waiters running, literally running to catch up the orders. In the end they gave us a discount. The food was at best mediocre. I give 3 stars for the effort, but should be below that
