Little Ethiopia in Genève

Culinary journey to the land of flavors to Ethiopia. Pleasantly surprised by this little restaurant in the heart of Pâquis. The boss is charming, super friendly and welcoming. The lady who served us gave us impeccable service. I heard the table next to me complaining about the waiting time, obviously it's not fast food... from time to time you also have to take the time and savor the moment. We asked for the tibs royale, Kitfo (a beef tartare cut with a knife) a pure delight The ingera pancakes (not sure of the spelling) were very fresh which was nice. The tasty cuisine, spicy as it should be, perfect balance. My sister who is Vegan also found what she was looking for among the dishes offered I recommend this restaurant without hesitation and I will return there because of the conviviality and flavors.

If you go there with the gourmet passport RUN AWAY! I imagine that since we only pay 50%, we don't deserve to have the same portions as the others. In addition, the worst is that the owner REFUSED to give us the 50% on starters and desserts even though it is a right that we have with this famous passport that we already pay quite dearly for. In addition, the food was not extraordinary... There were order errors to top it all off. If you want a good Ethiopian restaurant go to Onex.

We reserved through "thefork" 1 day in advance, everything went well, they were already waiting for us with a friendly smile. We felt very welcome, very friendly, polite and quick service. We had a tasting menu that had a little bit of everything on it. It tasted very good and was beautifully presented. The best Ethiopian and Eritrean restaurant I know. We would like to come again.

Restaurant reserved with the fork. We have received confirmation of our reservation. However, a few hours before our arrival, we received an email canceling our reservation WITHOUT JUSTIFICATION. We are very disappointed with this behavior!

I went to Little Ethiopia with a friend for her birthday. We had an incredible time in this restaurant. The restaurant manager, Solomon, treated us like princesses, and you would eat wonderfully there! I recommend this restaurant with so much pleasure! You will enjoy it!

We shared a plate for 3 with 4 people and it was a HUGE meal and so delicious and flavorful. The service is really friendly and attentive and we had a nice infused white tea after the food. I am only visiting Geneva for a few days but I think this is one of the best value for money food spots you can go for here!

Do yourself a favor and visit this lovely Ethiopian restaurant in Geneva. The food is absolutely amazing – especially the Tibs (sliced beef, pan fried in butter, garlic and onion, served on clay pot). Absolutely the best meal we had while in Geneva. Really delicious meals he offers

Spent a delightful dinner with colleagues on Saturday evening! The restaurant was smaller than I expected but cosy and welcoming. The owner was particularly kind and attentive to our needs, and walked us through the different foods. We chose the discovery meals to share, they're not too spiced and the best option to discover the main Ethiopian dishes. Finished off with traditional coffee and tea. Overall a great experience!

Very nice discovery and experience! I suggest the tasting menu which allows you to discover Ethiopian/Eritrean cuisine with the main course which is just super, different dishes directly in the injera pancake (teff flour perfect for those intolerant to gluten). This menu is hearty! We loved the spiced tea even though the price is quite high. Too bad the “typical” coffee is not served in the evening. To be tested without hesitation! 👌🏼👌🏼

Amazing food, so many great flavors on one plate! Good place to go for a solo diner or to take a group of people. The service is the best, too. They were happy to make recommendations from the menu which I ordered and loved. Wish I could give 10 stars!

At fall,we had a diner on the terrace. We chose two large pickup meals : one with food and the other one vegan. It is always a discovery of tastes and flavours as well a little trip to Ethiopia . This was a great surprise in Geneva, we were looking for something different to eat and this was our first time to try Ethiopian food, everything was delicious, we tried the "buffet" for 2 which was a lot to eat, the flavours and the food were very pleasant, the staff was super friendly, the only suggestion I have is to have a menu in English just in case someone like us come by, but the lady taking the orders and serving food was kind enough to explain about it. The menu has lots of options vegetarian, vegan and non-vegeterian, we tried the buffet for 2 which had one entrée, 4 'curry-like' dishes served in a huge pancake to be used as 'spoon' to eat and a dessert similar to a baklava, all of them were super tasty. If you are hungry and want something very unique and tasty this is the place to get it Pricing was good not too expensive not too cheap, considering Geneva is extremely expensive.

Great food for three. Everyone enjoyed each item on the sample plater. The spices were unique, not from other Ethiopian restaurants, but different and tasty compared to other global foods. Beers and wine were just right.

The staff were so nice, the portions were amazing. The taste satisfied my soul. It was an evening well spent. Plus the staff were so nice, they gave us a complimentary full kettle or exquisite tea. Can’t recommended enough.

We were traveling through Genève and found Little Ethiopia Restaurant. The three of us shared the vegetarian meal and were delighted by the flavors. The spices were just right for us. I highly recommend this restaurant and will go back next time I’m in Genève.

First Ethiopian food experience and it was… Amazing food!

I liked the place but I have to say I got more food for less price in a nearby Ethiopian restaurant. The bill took long to come and also the food. I went there because some friends called me but it would not be my choice.

The food was amazing here! I had the beef kitfo and it was very well prepared. However, the service was very slow and the drinks arrived way before the food.

This was my first time eating Ethiopian food. I was in Geneva on a business trip and stumbled upon this place with a co-worker and decided to give it a try. I cannot say enough about the food and the service. Judith was very patient with us as we were trying to decide what to order and thoughtfully explained the menu, while also demonstrating the proper way to eat our meal once it arrived. I highly recommend this restaurant if you are a fan of Ethiopian food or would like to try it. The food was very delicious and made to order (don’t be in a rush when you go). Thank you Judith for a very enjoyable experience! If I ever make it back to Geneva, it will be on my list of places to visit.

I have not had Ethiopian in 20 years. This place reminded me of what I was missing. Satisfied does not come close to describing it.

Very disappointed with service and food. The injera (bread) was cold and the edges were all dry like it had been left in the open air for a long time. The injera batter goes through some fermentation so a little sourness is expected but what I was served was so sour it made it hard to eat. Despite being there only customer before the dinner rush (~6pm), I had to ask for the menu and then again ask to order. He was just too busy chatting with the friend who walked in. Had high expectations from the Google reviews and was extremely disappointed with the quality of food and service

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Little Ethiopia Cafe Restaurant and I must say, it was an amazing experience! The food was absolutely delicious and very authentic. The staff were also very friendly and helpful. The baklava was especially good - definitely worth the wait! The only downside was the long waiting time, but it was worth it in the end. Highly recommend!

We ordered the vegan tasting menu for 2 people and the mixed tasting menu with varied meats and vegetarian for 4. Both were a success. We chose to eat the traditional way, without cutlery - we learned the best we could from the owner, who welcomed us in a fun way and was always available to explain the dishes to us. This was the first restaurant we went to in Geneva, and after my week-long trip it was still my favorite spot! We ordered family-style so I got to try a lot of vegetarian dishes and they were all incredible. It's in a great location to walk to from the Geneva hostel. The service was excellent and my only regret is that I didn't go back before I left.

Great place to grab a wholesome vegan meal. We opted for the mix of all vegan options and everything was tasty and healthy. Full of plant protein and veg. Long opening times, friendly staff, reasonable prices (55CHF for two).

Great Ethiopian vegetarian food! We loved it so much, we came back the next day and brought our entire group of 7 people. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed the food.
