Great location and the Schnitzel, as well as the truffle fries are great! There are some dishes that are a bit underwhelming, but overall quite great.

Great location in a prime location, a menu that couldn't be better suited to the restaurant and exudes a summer feeling, as well as a service crew that is simply fantastic.

I would like to give 0 stars. On Friday at around 2 p.m. the two of us entered the terrace with the baby in the stroller. Originally we wanted to treat ourselves to a snack. At first the waiter ignored us and other visitors. When the two gentlemen at the table next to us asked about their food, which they had been waiting for an hour, we decided to just have a coke and coffee...it took 40 minutes until we had the things on the table and the restaurant was practically empty...more Guests started arguing with the waiter because he ignored them. When we wanted to pay he said yes and we waited again for an eternity, his helpless colleague had his first day and seemed lost.. I have to say I was about to get up and leave without paying.. When I didn't give him a cent tip I looked He looked at us dismissively and ran away without saying goodbye. Too bad! From now on I will steer clear of this restaurant.

The L’O is a wonderful refuge from the fog and winter blues. The restaurant's interior channels the charm of a luxurious yacht, with warm glossy teak, nautical accents and a touch of vintage elegance. Despite the fog, large windows offer a wonderful view of the lake which always fascinates and inspires me. The open kitchen, the warm and hospitable staff; life can be so easy. At L’O, as at all other Péclard restaurants, the quality and locality of the products are paramount. I had the hand-cut beef tartare with nuts on onion crème fraîche as a starter; the slight acidity and subtle sweetness of the onion crème fraîche harmonized perfectly with the beef and nuts. The main course remained meat in the form of a tomahawk steak with L’O butter from organic Black Angus cattle with the classic but best side dish there is: crispy French fries. This shows again that less is more; The best dishes are those that put the taste and ingredients in the foreground. With these starters and main courses there was actually only one dessert. The cheesecake. Just like everything else, it's perfect to send the winter blues away until your next visit to the desert.

We celebrated a family birthday with a very nice brunch experience, the whole L'O team including Paty Boser as a very authentic and friendly hostess did a top job. Thank you very much.

Went there for lunch, very nice service. We had to wait a while at the entrance because he was serving alone. Afterwards 2 additional employees came to the table. We would be served quickly, professionally and courteously. The lunch menu was good, the price could be two or three francs cheaper over lunch. The view looking across the lake towards Zurich is unique.

I had to wait an hour for the waiter to come to take my order. The waiter didn't give me a receipt for my order, he just came with a terminal and charged me two francs more than the amount I was supposed to pay. The amount is not big, but it is not pleasant, the fact of deception, as well as the low quality of service.

Surprisingly good. Fish of above ordinary quality, good wines, good service. Cozily stylish setting. If their level stays this way, I could become a regular.

The food (tomahawk main course) was TOP 10/10 and the service was actually great too, but there were so many guests and only 2 people working, so the service wasn't always top notch. I will recommend it

A complete revelation from the first moment, a super friendly welcome and a great table by the window, it gave us a bit of a cruise feeling. Great wine list and great food. Service is terrific and very competent. All in all, it was a nice spontaneous experience on a sunny lunchtime in a great restaurant

Luckily there wasn't much going on on December 23rd. Food was very fine. Ambiance is also very nice.

terrible attitude of staff towards guests. We ordered ribs and not only were they brought to the table next to us earlier, but they were also cut when serving. They brought it to us later, although we ordered earlier and simply put it on the table without serving. we do not recommend

I had dinner at L'O restaurant this evening. The starter was an autumn salad. This was a simple endive salad with a cooked red cabbage topping on top. It makes you want something more creative than that. The main course was a Wienerschnitzel with truffle fries. Unfortunately it was a disaster. On the plate there was a bit of schnitzel meat with a pronounced, pale breading, which also stood out from the meat in a large area. Plus truffle fries, which were good but cold. In short, unfortunately not recommended. The number of guests was small. The service staff friendly. It's a shame, I liked going to the L'O. Unfortunately, with this poor quality of food, we can no longer recommend it.

Excellent view on Lake Zürich, very nice atmosphere and polite staff. Ordered "Risotto with pumpkin and mushrooms" to get 1 ladle of rice with 1/2 of a mushroom in the middle, looks grey and runny and tastes like you have thrown 5 cubes of bouillon in it to get some taste. Am sorry, but - absolutely unacceptable for that price!

Very nice atmosphere inside and outside. Top service! Very attentive & friendly. The beef fillet and the fish dishes taste excellent. The seasonal pumpkin soup as a starter is fantastic. The side dishes for the main courses are very good, especially the white wine risotto and the fries are recommended. We have been coming to the L'O for many years and are always impressed by new ones, including last Saturday evening.

Good location to have a lake view and the cake was delicious.

Super attentive service. We were even asked if we wanted to visit the wine cellar. (Can be rented and it's just a dream to stay there) Food plentiful and beautifully prepared. Location right on the lake is second to none. I can recommend it without reservation. I've also been there on birthdays and everything was really well organized.

The restaurant smells like sewage, we were sitting inside and constantly had to face an awful smell.

Simply wonderful. From the food to the view and ambience, everything is indescribable. We'd love to come back.

The plates on the table should at least be clean before the first course. I think the Tavolata idea is great, but the menu at L'O should be planned more optimally for the guests

This is the third time this year that I have paid unbelievably expensive prices, received incredibly poor service and every time I get the statement like today: "Unfortunately there are only two of us today - I'm sorry." I ask myself why I should care when I pay CHF 150.00 for fish crispy, sausage, schnitzel and some drinks...?!? I'm definitely NEVER coming back!

Great location, fine food and nice team!

Very nice place for lunch or dinner overlooking the lake. Better if you ask for a table next to the window. The lunch is good and the price, as you know in Switzerland... expensive.

Of course, this restaurant thrives on its location, which is really great, right on the lake. The food is good but rather expensive for what you get. We were there for lunch. The restaurant was far from full and unfortunately the service was not at all attentive. It wasn't cleared away for a long time and you almost always had to push yourself to order something else. If you allow yourself the luxury of eating there, you should definitely have patience and enough time.

The service was very bad. The restaurant had hardly any guests but the service staff was overwhelmed, which led to very long waiting times. I had to approach various cellars until someone brought me a “ketchup bag”. The staff had 15 minutes for a job that ultimately took 5 seconds. Without asking multiple times, I would wait now. When we asked for the bill, the cellar didn't understand German and we had to say it in English. But like ketchup, targeting just one person wasn't enough. When we finally left the restaurant and walked past two service staff, there was neither a thank you nor a nice evening. It's a shame the restaurant has such a good location but scores its own goals with the staff. The food was fine, but I won't be visiting the restaurant again because the service was terrible.

We were here for dinner. At 6 p.m. there were hardly any guests and yet the service was a major disaster. It took a full 90 minutes until the main course was served. Then one of the two dishes was ice cold, not even lukewarm. From the moment you enter the restaurant until you leave you feel unwelcome. Extremely bad hosts which is a real shame. We wouldn't visit the restaurant again.

Typical place on Lake Zurich with a beautiful view but we are not there with the quality/price ratio. The train that passes a few meters from the tables is also an inconvenience.

The location and general design are convincing. The food was just about average (hummus for the starter was good, the skewer for the main course was boring and undercooked). The service staff tried hard, but also put in a lot of effort.

The L'O restaurant in Horgen undoubtedly impresses with its picturesque location right on the lake, including boat moorings. While the food was satisfactory, the price seemed a bit high in proportion. Unfortunately, some of the dishes listed on the menu were not available and the service could have been more professional. Despite the hype, it wouldn't be my first choice for future visits.

Getting a great table by the water on Saturday evening at 9 p.m. is anything but a given. We were lucky and had a great and unforgettable dinner date. The food was wow and the service was very attentive. Plus the very special offers and enchanting weather. Unique and the price is more like €€€ instead of €€€€. Keep it up and thank you very much!

On Saturday we were able to spend a wonderful and delicious evening at L'O. A real holiday feeling on Lake Zurich! Why travel far away when there is such a great location in Horgen. Especially the wine selection is highly recommended. The managing director Vincenzo is TOP! Highly recommended *****

We had the Wiener schnitzel - at first we thought these schnitzels are pricey but I think the size of them compensated for it. When we were asked which sides we want, we weren’t informed that they cost extra (it would be better if we were informed). The view is very pretty and some of the staff is nice however some are also a bit rude but maybe they’re just charismatic I don’t know.

Location great, food good, large wine list, service friendly and attentive, are also open to constructive criticism, I would like some nicer cutlery (steak knife for tomahawk steak) and glasses, would like to go back.

I wanted to like the place. I did. But the kitchen staff obviously was oberwhelmed by the number of guests. Steak wasn't medium but blue, Spare Ribs dry and chewy and the fries came cold.

We have filled ourselves very well. It's a great location, close to the train station. So easily accessible by public transport. Service reliable and fast. The food is good.

Disgusting service. The staff is driven, they can’t even listen and take the entire order.

To put it simply, the location is obviously great, you can't go wrong. The service, starting from table allocation, ordering, dishes (the service staff does not seem to be trained). It wasn't just our impression, the guests at the front right and left were dissatisfied. The arrogance cannot be surpassed. When paying, the waiter kneels on the floor to impress the beautiful lady, rarely seen such a poorly qualified guide. Can only. say what he MP represents in the media cannot be found in the local area. (I'm just making it up, ridiculous)

This is my favourite restaurant by the lake. The food is amazing, and sometimes they have a live band called Knights Club. They are the best live band I saw in my life! Great experience!

I went there without prior reservation and when I was looking for a table to sit at I was surprised by a staff member who I can say was rude and rude. He didn't help us search, so I left the place.

Waited 1h10 minutes for the main course. Then came the “dead fried” filet with a “medium rare” order. It's hard to imagine how you can justify paying 56 CHF for this. Artichoke was ok, chimichuri sauce was anything but chimichuri. Excessive prices with a rustic atmosphere (Ikea wooden garden chairs) and mediocre food. You pay 2/3 for the lake view. 1/3 for the food and service.

Unfortunately, this is supposedly a trendy restaurant on the lakeshore only focuses on simple charcoal-grilled meat or fish dishes. Even with a medium number of guests, this leads to long waiting times. Meat ordered “medium” was basically raw. The vegetable side dish was also grilled and burnt. The steak that was returned for further cooking took 15 minutes to arrive. A hobby cook can do all of this better and faster at home!

Really great. I would give 3 on service because everything was slow, things got mixed up. But the waiter was unusually kind and nice which raised it again.

A perfect combination of an outstanding lakeside location with gorgeous view on the lake and a very tasty cuisine with modern vegetarian dishes we like, lake fishes, houmous, truffle flavored fries, grilled veggies, etc… Perfect for a nice dinner by the lake.

Food is average, as most restaurants in Switzerland, but at Swiss prices. Truffle fries where good in taste, but not in texture, they were cut too thin and fried for too long, basically was like chewing potato chips from the supermarket but with truffle oil on top. The sea bream was good, they did it with Rosemarie and lemon inside, which gave good taste, but they went overboard with the amount of oil. The worst part was the service, it felt like thus guy never served a table before. He has giving us a table and we asked if we could seat in the one next to it, because there was more shade, it took him 5 long seconds to decide what to do. He only needed to pick up the menus and move them to the other table. Then while ordering, we asked a couple of questions and he didn't seem to understand, we had to repeat ourselves 3 times. It felt quite rude from the start.

Food was very good. Unfortunately, coffee is not my taste.

Paid: CHF 600+ for 3 people Summary service: - Brought the wrong wine bottle twice - Water put down without a word - The empty starter plates were on the table for 25 minutes - Waiting time between courses 50 minutes - Meat “well done” instead of “medium rare” - We had to ask for salt/pepper 3 times - Drinks from another table were brought to us - No dessert or coffee was asked - Table lamp gave up the ghost after 10 minutes. Has not been replaced. - We were then charged for the drinks from the other table - After paying, the waiter said that we should have checked the receipt better and then gave us the money back Conclusion: kebab shop service with a lake view

Since I like to go to the L'o Restaurant often and am always annoyed by the same thing, I decided to do this review. As always, the food is fantastic and the location right on the water is fantastic. BUT: The service leaves a lot to be desired, the four of us waited over an hour for the main course and 30 minutes for water that we ordered again. The waiter was friendly and tried extremely hard, but the lack of staff is noticeable!!! What a shame for this expensive and good restaurant! At these prices I expect top service, our meal with starter, main course, magnum bottle of wine, grappa and dessert was a total of over 700.-, so I definitely expect more!

We waited 2 hours for our food. The restaurant was crowded and the service staff was very stressed. That was our last visit to L'O.

Very bad service. We waited 1h30 for the food. After 1h30 the food came, but the wrong one. The food was also cold. After feedback it didn't get any better. After that we left the restaurant.

Terrible. The staff is very nice, but incredibly stupid. We had to wait so long for food that we wanted to leave. Then we got it and it didn't taste good at all. Starter was ok but, exorbitant for the price!! I eat cheaper and even better in Zurich City. You want to do it in a noble way, but unfortunately you can't do it. A pity! One star for the great location and view and one star for the overwhelmed, nice and very accommodating staff. However, I won't be coming anymore.

Very nice view of the lake. Drinks were good but waiters disrespectful. When I paid, the card was taken out of my hand. We didn't even receive an invoice (receipt). You feel very unwelcome.

The food was very good. The organization of the service can still be improved. They were all very friendly but a bit disorganized. I will gladly come again.

Food was absolutely delicious and especially for a large group we were able to taste a lot various dishes. Quite the spot for a work related activity!

The food and the location of the restaurant directly on Lake Zurich is sensational. However, the professionalism, courteousness and desired flexibility of the staff leaves a lot to be desired, but it was different a few years ago.

Lovely warm welcome, good range of menu options and we took the fresh home made daily pasta dish. Great open kitchen, busy and lively atmosphere. Wonderful experience in an authentic Italian. Coming back for the fresh fish on the grill for sure.

I have rarely experienced something as disastrous as in this restaurant. These people are hard to beat when it comes to unprofessionalism. They are overwhelmed when it comes to distinguishing between a normal knife and a steak knife. We had a table by the window, unfortunately surrounded by somewhat noisy guests. We asked the waiter, even before we had anything on the table, whether it would be possible to get a table in the back area where it was a little quieter. He said that wasn't possible, the restaurant was "full to capacity" in 30 minutes, the entire evening there was a maximum of 25% occupancy, and almost all of the tables in the back area remained unused. In addition, the fish that my partner had ordered was inedible, we returned it and it wasn't included in the bill. It was a completely ruined evening and we will never go to this restaurant again.

Very good food and courteous staff. Unfortunately rather expensive. Unfortunately, the cassata has nothing to do with ice cream. Anyone expecting a cassata siciliana and longing for something cool and fruity will be bitterly disappointed. It may be some sort of provincial Italian specialty, but I hardly think it suits the taste of the average Swiss customer.

One chef veganized a dish for me, who is allergic to animal products. Great cook and extremely friendly, thank you very much! It would be nice if the dishes were already labeled and there was no need to ask.

The lakeside restaurant L'O in Horgen is a wonderful place to enjoy a delicious meal in stunning surroundings. We were thrilled with the location of the restaurant right on Lake Zurich

Super terrace on the edge of the lake, truly charming! The Caesar salad and cauliflower were delicious! we will be back !

The location is very good, no doubt. The restaurant has been re-done / renovated in 2020 and now looks a bit like a Paddy Reilly’s inside. Dark wood, blue paint… definitely too dark. Outside the dehor is nice, again because of the location, but there are too many tables and feels crammed. In summer the personnel is young and I experienced so do not hope for a service in line with the menu prices! The food is ok, average good but certainly not special and slightly overpriced for what it is and compared to other Zurich restaurants where quality is much higher. The overall style, from what it used to be a classy ambiance and very good quality-food restaurant, is really “average” (see comment above about Paddy Reilly’s). For instance, if you order a sorbet, you are going to have a little dish (often chipped on the edge) and a Sprungli sorbet served still in the Sprungli paper cup, no berries, no sugar or syrups decoration … nothing at all! In the summer if you order a coke, you are going to get a glass full of ice and some coke…! Main dishes are ok, but for the prices you are better off at some Italian restaurant (e.g., in Richterswill) that are same price and almost Michelin start quality.

Been there for business lunch with a rather large group. Practically no people at lunch time. Great ambiente even inside (they have a really nice garden terrace below trees right at the border of the lake). Restaurant has lost its motivation and eager to compete with the large competition in the area. Probably trust their location and exclusivity a bit too much. Meat ordered was cold. Plates cold. Several things had to be ordered multiple times (oil, bread, salt etc). Wine was served with cork pieces. Although so little guests, we were not served attentively. Pricing overrated for what is offered. I have been several times now in the past and the offering has gone down drastically. Shame for such a great location. Then again: Location only is not everything!

Nice ambience with a wonderful view of Lake Zurich. Unfortunately it was very loud that you couldn't have a conversation at the table for 10 people. Price/performance rather a bit overpriced.
