Löwen in Solothurn

The food was very good and the service was very friendly. The portions are very generous and we ordered way too much. I would recommend two main courses with side dishes for four people. Have the best onion rings!

If you don't fancy visiting Solothurn for its beauty, then do it because of restaurant Löwen. Well, that is if you like eating meat. Because meat... they have plenty of it. It's actually a challenge just to make your choice out of the vast options there are on the menu. But regardless what you choose, I'm sure you'll be served a tasty meal. So far I can at least recommend the rib-eye. But I'm sure I'll go back to try some other cuts.

Very good restaurant, very good cuisine with exceptional quality meat, very good sauces. friendly staff, very professional. A friendly room, good atmosphere. If you are not a big drinker or if you have to drive you have very good wines served by the glass. I passed an excellent evening. Thank you all.

Unexpectedly found a restaurant open on Sunday. The service was excellent and friendly. Have ordered beef tartar, Gordon blu(forget to take pictures 📸), and Black Cod. Me and my family are very satisfied and have a wonderful time here❣️Will come again next time when we go to Solothurn.

I am very impressed with the quality and service at Löwen. We had a team meal and 15 people were served a wide variety of meat at the same time and at the perfect cooking level chosen - chapeau! Stopped there spontaneously. We weren't disappointed. The food (lunch menu) was very tasty. There's nothing to complain about in terms of service either. Therefore gladly again.

We were in Löwen on January 3rd. The food was excellent and the service was very friendly and attentive. We would be happy to recommend the restaurant.

We had reserved as a larger group. Free tables only become available 20 minutes after the confirmed time. Food was only served after 1.5 hours. However, the food was edible. The rest is a disgrace.

Very fine food. There were a lot of guests, which meant the waiting times were a bit loud and long. But the staff were always friendly. Rather upper price range.

The lunch menus are very good. The tomato soup is highly recommended. The service is always friendly. And the small desserts on the menu are always a little highlight.

At lunchtime there are usually good menus at a reasonable price. Unfortunately, every now and then some of the menu isn't quite top. E.g. ice cold carpaccio The service staff is friendly and courteous.

This is such a beautiful restaurant. The food is amazing, tasty and well presented. And the staff is so welcoming, smiling and pleasant, warm and helpful.

The waiter, who I think could also be the owner, worked quickly and yet, in my opinion, he gave all the guests his attention as well as good treatment where even families with children feel comfortable. Of course, food is a matter of taste for everyone... I liked the food. I would like to go again.

Nice ambience, courteous and friendly service 😊 I had a 300g cast-on steak and was thrilled, the cooking level was exactly right. Awesome👍👍👍 I enjoyed it. Side dish (vegetables) a little salty, but ok for me and also relatively crunchy 👍 Croquettes also great. And Le Chefe also had time for small talk. We had our team event at Restaurant Löwen and really enjoyed the evening. The staff is very accommodating and friendly, the food was excellent and the atmosphere is totally pleasant. We were able to pre-order without any problems and the food was on the table very quickly for the large group :-) Thank you very much for the great service!

A pleasant, quiet restaurant in Solothurn's old town The service is top. You can hardly find this much friendliness anywhere else! Thank you! The quality of the meat is also top! Unfortunately there was ratatouille as a vegetable side dish, which I am not allowed to eat. They didn't know that. Unfortunately the meat was a bit too oily. The 3 sauces for the meat were very good. I've been a gourmet for 18 years and would like to give the chef a big compliment for the meat, the sauces, the wedges and, above all, the service! Please fry with less oil, then it will be great!!!

The evening at the Löwen was cozy. Nevertheless, we expected a little more overall. When we arrived the restaurant was empty and during our stay two more couples joined us. So it wasn't really full and yet mistakes were made and the steak wasn't really medium rare as requested. My wife also noticed a strange gesture toward my tip as I ran away. A good restaurant but not top or outstanding.

I've been to this restaurant three times so far and have had a good time each time and always gone home stuffed and with leftovers. The staff is just sweet and accommodating. Yesterday was my birthday and I received a little serenade from them. Which I really appreciated and it made my whole day. Thank you very much 🥰 Will definitely come back :D

The Löwen has a very good atmosphere, attentive and friendly staff; the landlord is very accommodating and is usually personally present. Fine food, tailored to individual wishes, good wine list. I can warmly recommend the restaurant.

We sat outside and enjoyed the summer evening. We would go there again.

Were there in April with a group of almost 50 people. The restaurant was still closed and opened too late, despite us making a reservation. Service was friendly and uncomplicated. Very nice atmosphere, set table and dishes too. The food came quickly and was delicious!

We had the grill plate for 2 people. The meat was ok. But rather disappointing for a steak house. However, side dishes and sauces are great! Service was very friendly and attentive, despite being full.

Nobody believes me about the beef entrecote with salad and dessert for 19 on the menu. Great cordon bleu. A friend of mine was served an entrecote that was not cooked correctly. When asked if the cooking level was okay, he said yes. But the waitress replied that it wasn't true and whether he wanted another one at no extra charge was brilliant!!!

Friendly service and without reservations. We walked in and we had a lovely table inside. The atmosphere is familiar and welcoming. They served us 10 - 15 after we ordered. The portions were well worth and the price was fitting. Definitely recommended

However, there is one tiny thing I would like from the staff. Please do not spray the tables next to the guest while he is enjoying a wonderful piece of meat. Unfortunately, I had the smell of disinfectant in my nose for about 2 minutes. That dampened the whole experience a little. Nevertheless, you should go there if you like good meat.

Unfortunately, the 🦁 didn't entirely convince me. The dining room is simply designed, so the ambience speaks for itself. The service was ok, unfortunately I noticed that it wasn't always completely attentive. I think one person was missing from the buffet. I liked the appetizer best. The burger was too dry for me and with the pickle it reminded me of McDonalds. The fries would have loved to stay in the fryer for 30 seconds longer.

Very long service (more than 1h30 to receive the dishes) and not very efficient (waitresses walk around the restaurant with their hands behind their backs and do not even respond to requests). The food was ok except the tartare which was too spicy and watery.

We were present with a large group (over 20 people). The staff was always friendly and responded freely to our wishes and needs. We had a birthday child - the restaurant didn't miss the opportunity to place candles on our cake, which made the surprise perfect. The food was a delight and even the restaurant owner stopped by for a quick chat. I would love to come and dine again, simply great, thank you!

Good food and very friendly service. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. I found the decor very suitable and you can easily eat alone or with several people, as the decor and atmosphere suit both very well.

Unfortunately the burger wasn't seasoned. The host was accommodating and didn't charge for the meal at all. Carrots were very fine. We'll try again.
