Maharani Palace in Bern

There are two big reasons why I love this restaurant/takeaway: 1.) The food is very, very tasty! 2.) The chicken is from Switzerland! In addition, the owners are extremely friendly and the prices are fair. Even though there are other restaurants in my area that are closer, I get on my bike and come to Maharani. 😊 P.S. Please stick to chicken from Switzerland and don't rely on the cheap or tortured meat from Brazil/Thailand like many others in the area! I appreciate that very much.

A wonderful small and intimate family-run restaurant. The service is lovely and professional. And….the food is homemade and exquisite - whether you’re vegan or not. Ah, and the best vegetable pakora I’ve ever tasted (homemade too). The price is reasonable - representing good value for money. Highly recommended if you are in Bern, probably the best Indian restaurant in Bern. Thank you!

I was there twice within a few days. Very cozy place with very friendly and attentive owners and delicious indian food cooked to perfection and nicely decorated and presented.

Family restaurant, discreet and unpretentious with delicious homemade food. It is also a practical option for those who do not have much time for lunch, since during the week they offer a very rich and complete free buffet, but above all with an excellent quality-price ratio. Simple and authentic Indian cuisine, modest and familiar atmosphere, excellent service. Highly recommended.

I recently dined at Maharani Palace near the Wander Tram stop in Bern with my colleagues, making it the third Indian restaurant I've tried in the past two weeks. The restaurant isn't very spacious, with a limited number of tables, but it's thoughtfully arranged. Here's what we ordered along with my personal ratings: 1. Paneer Butter Masala - 3.5/5 2. Veg Kofta Curry - 3/5 3. Naan - 3/5 The main course items were served with a complimentary bowl of rice, a common offering in Indian restaurants in Switzerland. While the food taste was above average, what stood out was the hospitality and service of this restaurant. The prices were reasonable compared to similar establishments.

There's not much to say here. Extremely authentic and tasty Indian food prepared with care😋 The food almost explodes with taste! The restaurant is a hidden gem in Bern. Small and inconspicuous and you can only see the entrance from the street at second glance. But the impression is extremely misleading! I have rarely eaten such good Indian food - and that too in Bern! Strong recommendation from me! Be sure to stop by if you're in the area!🥘

I wanted to order a vegan meal. This "restaurant" offers an "Alu Matter Paneer" that says it is VEGAN. Paneer is a cheese made from cow's milk!!! That's a scandal. They say they can make it vegan if needed, but they declare it vegan!!!

Delicious Indian food bursting with flavor! I ordered the chicken vindaloo which was perfectly spiced. Enough to feel spicy but not overwhelming. The palak paneer was creamy and moist, perfect balance to the spiciness of the vindaloo. Naan and samosa were also good. Definitely recommend to others and I will certainly return, thank you!

Excellent restaurant. We were delighted from start to finish. You can go there with your eyes closed. The staff is also extremely friendly. It's a 10/10

Great indian food and really frendly people. I went there many times and will definitely visit again as soon as I can. I can also recommand the catering service. Preet and her husband not only organized but also directly served the food for my birthday and we had a great time, thanks to them.

Amazing quality of food. Had lunch (3 persons). Vegetarian thali had a good variety of dishes. Mango lassi and mango cream (dessert) were amazing! One of the best Indian food I had during my trip to Switzerland. Host is very warm and welcoming.

My wife and I have traveled all over the world and have eaten at somewhere between 50- 100 Indian restaurants (it's our favorite) and this one is easily in our top 3... easily! That really says it all! They have everything it takes to make your dinner experience the best: quiet outdoor dining area, the sweetest and most attentive service you could ask for, and the absolute most divine food one could ever wish to find!

I love this place. Been there on multiple occasions at different times(lunch/dinner etc). The owners Preet and Sarb take very good care of you. Both are very hospitable and polite. I have tried chilly paneer, gemuse kofta, channa masala, dal, dahi bada and everything was awesome with authentic Indian taste. I love their Aloo Parantha as well. Just call-in before and inform them if you’re planning to eat aloo parantha. Highly recommended if you’re in bern and craving Indian food. Take tram 9 towards Wabern from bahnhof and get down at Wander or sulgenau. The place is at walking distance from both the stops.

A very nice indian restaurant in Bern. Recommended to everyone who wants to taste indidan food. It was my wife’s first time and she was really surprised about the taste and quality of the food…

Literally “Authentic” Indian Food In Bern. Food is on the top, Preet and Sarab( Owners) make sure that they make everything from scratch and doesnt use canned stuffs. Best dessert I ever had in any if the Indian Restaurant in and around Bern. Food is one thing but Preet and Sarabjit are the best host as well. Their hospitality is 5* and they would make you feel like home. Must try and highly recommended in Bern.
