We were in the restaurant at lunchtime. Food was good, selection a bit small. The building structure is getting old, as is the interior of the restaurant and the surrounding area.

I was just in the restaurant and ordered a weekly menu (tagliatelle with meat). The wrong menu was brought (schnitzel with fries). When I asked the new waitress about it, I got a rude reaction. When I spoke to the first waitress (taking the order), I was confirmed that I had been served the wrong menu for the coming week. My menu was then freshly prepared, but the person sitting next to me had long since finished eating by the time my food finally arrived. What bothers me is not the mistake that happened, but how it was handled. At first they didn't want to take me seriously and brush off my legitimate complaint. I was not offered a free coffee or a price reduction for the long wait and the error caused. That will not do!

We had dinner at Martinshof last night. Then it hit us: One person ordered Zürcher Geschnetzeltes with Rösti - Geschnetzeltes was beef in a very dark sauce, the meat was red and rubbery, you couldn't bite it or swallow it. Second person ordered a portion of Rösti plain. This consisted of a baby portion, after 3 forks the black dessert plate was empty. Because the meat was so rubbery, guest 1 was offered vermicelles for dessert. But this only came when we asked again - then a piece of vermicelles came frozen straight out of the packaging, without having been pressed through the vermicelles press! Service answered us that yes, the kitchen had already been cleaned - although the offer for a dessert came when the kitchen had not yet been cleaned. Then ordered a coffee, the cup was dirty and had to be returned. The whole thing cost us Fr. 110.--. The star is only given for the friendly service. We definitely won't be coming to Martinshof to eat again because we are very disappointed.

CHF 350.-Richtig enttäuschend aber war die wirklich sehr kleine Portion ZH Geschnetzeltes, für CHF 33.80 erwarte ich ein Tellergericht das mich einigermassen satt macht. Meine geäusserte Kritik wurde weggelächelt. Die restlichen Preise sind auch eher hoch, kann man aber noch gelten lassen.Die Wartezeiten sind grenzwertig, manchmal muss man sich selber aufmachen und jemanden suchen gehen.Negativpunkt des Abends aber waren die dreckigen, anscheinend ungespülten Dessertgläser (siehe Fotos): sie fühlten sich schon stumpf an, waren milchig-fleckig und von aussen teilweise sogar noch mit Schokoladenresten der Vorgänger verklebt. Das geht gar nicht. Unsere Intervention und eine Begutachtung der Gläser führte dazu, dass wir den Inhalt der Gläser (!) immerhin nicht bezahlen mussten. Aber auch hier wurde spitz gerechnet: das Affogato al Café wurde nicht komplett von der Rechnung gestrichen, sondern nur das Vanilleglace davon, der Espresso wurde gesondert berechnet. Da hält es dann auf einmal sehr genau, was nicht wirklich zum Gesamteindruck des Abends passt.Fazit: das alles ist sehr schade, denn das Potential wäre da: die Gerichte sind lecker, das Ambiente sehr gemütlich, das Malzeug für die Tochter ist bereits mit eingedeckt: da fühlt man sich willkommen und freut sich auf den Abend - umso grösser halt die Enttäuschung. Hätten wir die Desserts komplett bezahlt, hätten wir über CHF 170.- liegen lassen (2 Erwachsene und Kind 5 Jahre), was für das Gebotene eindeutig zuviel ist.
