An amazing view of the surrounding alps. If you have a clear day, you get a great view of the matterhorn. However, the better view is the glacier field and the many, many peaks. Then you can go inside the glacier and look at the stratification with sediment. There are crevasses you can look into. They also have several ice carvings. The gondola ride up and down are also scenic so be sure to look around. We have the Swiss half price pass which also applies here so the cost was more manageable.

Summer ski (early september 2023) Bought the summer ski day pass to include in a nice Zermatt day trip. Sadly the weather conditions forced me to do it on a sunday, which severely increased the crowd level. Since the cable car station was partly under construction, I had to wait 30min at a ticket counter to get my pass I bought online. Included in the summer ski pass are the way up to Glacier Paradise, the glacier paradise itself and all open ski lifts on the glacier. The ride up is very scenic, as you go over the glaciers. You can take amazing pictures at Trockner Steg, from the gondola and the glacier paradise viewpoint. If you want to go to the restrooms, note the the ones at glacier paradise charge 2chf. The ski runs were well groomed and snow conditions were perfect (heavy snowfall the days before). Though it was not enough snow for the run to Trockner Steg to be open. The ski lifts that were open were not too busy, no long lines. There were many professional skies training there. Gladly the new plateau rosa gondola was finished and you could easily return to glacier paradise. After all, it was a nice experience, but a kinda stressful and expensive one. Cool experience to once ski in summer. Just to let you know: doing a Zermatt ski day trip by car is a terrible hussle. First you pay expensive 16chf at Täsch parking lot. Another 16 for the train. Summer ski pass was around 90chf. And the gondolas are 2km from the train station (so either buy a taxi or walk with your ski gear)

The Matterhorn Glacier Paradise Viewpoint is 3,883 meters above sea level. It has the highest cable car station in Europe. The top viewing platform can enjoy a 360-degree view of the Alpine peaks. It is the closest place to the Matterhorn in Zermatt. Visitors can purchase tickets for Peak 2 Peak, first ascend to the Matterhorn glacier paradise at an altitude of 3,883 meters, then transfer to the Riffelberg, and then take the cog train to ascend the Gornergrat at an altitude of 3,089 meters. Visitors here can enjoy unparalleled panoramic views.

We were hesitant to take the tickets on the site but decided to take them at the ticket counters. Fortunately !!! : The Matterhorn Glacier Paradise was closed (we didn't know why) but tickets were on sale on the site. Coming only for the day in Zermatt, we would have ended up with non-refundable tickets. A word of advice, for the price of the ticket, call the ticket offices before or go to the ticket office! Located at the highest cable car station in Zermatt, you need to transfer to the cable car many times. There are ice palaces, observation decks, and ski spots. You can also see glacier scenery along the way. The temperature of the ice palace is very low, and the observation deck can overlook the Alps. The mountain scenery is magnificent Since the end of September, there is basically only snow on the top of the mountain, and most of the cable car scenery along the way is rocky scenery. In winter, the scenery with white snow and mist should be more beautiful.

We visited Zermatt on a day trip, arriving just before 12. We went for peak2peak option, as this was our very 1st time for the area and we wanted to see more. We are a family of 4 (my daughter in late 20's, my sister in mid 40's, her 18 years old daughter and myself in late 50's) and we are reasonably heathy. Yet, we found ourselves weakened at the paradise at 3800+ meters above sea level. We could still walk around though. The view at the viewing platform was thrilling. We could not see Matterhorn in its entirety as it decided to hide behind cloud. The Ice sculpture was very nice to view. We also walked on to the Glacier for a very short distance. We brought our own sandwich as lunch and there was not any pleasant place to sit and eat sandwiches. The use of toilet costs CHF2. We spent about 2 hours in the top before deading to Gornergrat. We found we liked Gornergrat much better. At just over 3000m above sea level, we did not feel any impact of high attitude. It was very wam in Gornergrats. There are plenty of benches to sit and enjoy the equally magnificent views of Matterhorn. We actaully saw the whole Matterhorn from Gornergrats, which we were not able to do at the glacier paradise. Apparently there is also a very nice circular walk at Gornergrats but we did not find time to do that. Maybe the next time.

It is unfortunate the kind of non competent personnel that you have in the kasse at the beginning to go up to the glaciar. We bought our tickets to go up and when we arrived to the almost last stop, we were told that we cannot continue the trip because it was windy…. Which I find totally NOT CREDIBLE that the employees based on the different stations along different highs are NOT TALKING. We were told to go down and ask in Zermatt for our money back. Once we came down the cashiers and the woman named Esther Rüedi, who sold us the tickets right before was “super friendly” and said that we cannot get reimbursed because we used the cable car to go up - even though we were told by the same company to go down and we will get our money back. She basically said it is not her problem and we should read the AGB… she did not allow us to speak with her supervisor or anything. She said: es mir egal und das was. We tried to convince her that maybe we could use the tickets for tomorrow and that how could we be charged for the tickets so much (158 CHF) just because we are supposed to go to the glaciar paradise and just because a woman does not speak with her colleagues in the stations to know that the glaciar is closed … she just kept selling the tickets… is just ridiculous… We are really dissatisfied because there was zero attention to customer service. We exchanged with different hotels in Zermatt and the owners mentioned it has never ever happened that even in the strongest winters. I’m really in shock that in Switzerland first time ever that happened to us and that nobody has the attention to customer to help or find a convenient solution. This is a premium attraction and it cannot be that nobody in this company can provide us with a favorable solution. We even visited the station close to the hotel Zermama where we spoke with the employees there and said none of them are empowered to provide us with a solution… we feel robbed. How can you just keep money from tourists without delivering the service? Today so many Americans experienced the same, but since they do not speak German could not get all what the inefficient staff were telling us …. Disappointing

The top observation deck was closed due to a defect lift, so No panoramic view whatsoever unless you have a drone or venture deep into the snow. The glacier paradise was rather disappointing as the sculptures were minimal and not impressive. Jungfrau ice palace has better sculptures. They should have a nice gourmet restaurant on the top of Europe, but instead only a self service small restaurant w mediocre food. What a pity. Check out the concept at ICEQ where 007 was filmed. That’s the kind of restaurant one is looking for in a high end resort like Zermatt. The new lift w heated seating is rather impressive. Unfortunately w peak to peak tkt, you can’t get to plateau Rosa, the Italian side.

A place with simply amazing views. The cable car station is called Klein Matterhorn and is the highest in Europe at 3,820m and from where the highest lift in Europe departs to the viewpoint located at the summit at 3,883m. On a clear day you can see the peaks located in Switzerland, France and Italy, where Mont Blanc (4,810m), Gran Paradiso (4,061m) and the Matterhorn (4,478m) stand out. They also find a restaurant, where they can also buy souvenirs, an ice palace with very interesting sculptures, and ski slopes. I recommend going warmly, since although in Zermatt it is more than 20 or 25 degrees, the temperatures there drop considerably (when I went, in June, it was 2 degrees at noon). The best way to get there is by cable car from Zermatt to Trockener and there you change to another larger cable car to Klein Matterhorn (Matterhorn Glacier Paradise). One of the intermediate stops is Schwarzsee and from there in just 5 minutes walking you can reach the black lake. This can be done both on the way out and back, as the same ticket works to Klein Matterhorn. A must-see.

Totally overpriced! Amazing gondola, but not worth the price.

Been twice in 2 years, ripped off both times. First time the conditions were terrible, which I realized so that's on me, so I was fine with seeing nothing but enduring the elements on the panorama platform. Second time conditions were absolutely perfect for a 360 view but the panorama platform was closed for no reason. It didn't say this anywhere at the bottom. 110CHF for a ticket is an absolute rip off. I told the ticket gate staff of this, and asked for at least a partial refund because the service I paid for wasn't available, and they said the platform is free so they won't refund anything. Even though it's a key feature offered. This also isn't true though, even if you walked up there in order to get into the area with the platform you'd need a ticket. Do not recommend.

The absolute highest point you can go to when you visit the town of Zermatt. It's an absolute Paradise for skiers in Winter, but even in summer the views from the top are awesome. Just keep in mind it is probably 10 to 15° colder up at the top than it is at the town so be prepared for some very harsh and cold winds.

A definite must see. We arrived at the ticket office 12pm on a Monday (June 2023) and only had to wait 5 minutes to purchase tickets. Take sunglasses and warm clothes.

Save your money and go to Gornergrat (our #1) and Sunnegga (our #2). We were very excited about the Matterhorn Paradise thinking that given the price it would be spectacular. You do see the Matterhorn but honestly our pictures from elsewhere are better. To get to the top we made one gondola change. We arrived about 25 minutes before closing and had planned to do a rush trip to see the sites which from what we read was totally doable. But EVERYTHING was CLOSED. We saw nothing. To make it worse the gondola from the top broke down and we were swinging in the wind for about 30 minutes. I finally called their office and was told they were having technical problems. There is no emergency button or way to communicate from the gondola. After that we made it to the station where you make the change to go down. Right after we left that station it broke again. Once it started up it became complete chaos. They were not telling people that they now have to get off at each station and change gondolas, so people were riding back up by mistake. The stations were completely overwhelmed and understaffed. My husband asked for a refund since they let us go up when everything was closed. They said no but to come back tomorrow and try again. There was no way that was going to happen. There are way too many other things to do in Zermatt that are a better use of your visit. We rode down with 2 men who had gone up to glacier hike. They were experienced and were also very disappointed in their visit. Matterhorn Glacier is an unsafe tourist trap!

A great attraction! For CHF 109/person (price without the discount with the Swiss Travel Pass) you can admire the wonderful panorama from the level of 3,883 m. The cable car starts from Zermatt and you can get off at each of the intermediate stations: Furi, Szwarzsee, Trockener Steg - here we have to change from the gondola to the car (for an additional 10 CHF we can go up in a car with a glass floor - a great experience for me, really worth). We got off at Schwarzsee - you can do a little trekking - the views are breathtaking! However, I most recommend a walk to the lake at the Trockener Steg station. A stunning view of the Matterhorn👍 There is also a restaurant with an outdoor terrace, of course with a view🥰 At the top, a wonderful panorama of the four-thousanders and the opportunity to buy souvenirs. There is also a restaurant. The impressions in beautiful weather are amazing!

It's a smaller and similar version of Jungfraujoch with much lesser crowded. Half the folks are there to ski, other half to sight see. you can walk out and see the snow. There is a restaurant on top which offers food at swiss price (burgers, rosti, pasta, coffee) and the restaurant offers a great view. The restaurant also offers souvenirs. There is only 1 WC that charges $2 CHF per entry, the bright sight they accept credit card (likely the only toilet that accepts credit card since it's an expensive trip). They close at 3pm.

If you have no idea about good food, come here! A disgrace for Zermatt cuisine! The meat must be freshly cut from the spit!!! No kebab meat should come from a warming container. Salad looks strange, e
