Matuya SUSHI in Fribourg

Small but nice restaurant next to the university There are parking spaces in front of the door and a large parking lot across the street. The food was a 10 out of 10 and the ambience is just like Japan. The German-speaking employee was also very friendly and warm. We would like to come again

For takeaway sales, great! The sushi is excellent, good value for money! The mochis are also very very good

The best sushi in Friborg at a reasonable price. I went to eat takeaway this evening and was told that they couldn't serve me before 1:30, I made the trip on purpose, very disappointed, this is not normal for sushi..

Really disappointed with Matuya. Everything has changed (taste, quality and service) since they joined Uber Eats. My last 3 orders (and yes we still gave 3 chances) where there were errors in the order and omissions in the delivery. Not very serious and very expensive. Obviously we called the restaurant, the order still hadn't left after 1h30 of preparation (but where do they get the fish??) and then all that so as not to receive what we had ordered. We then called back and absolutely no one offered us a commercial gesture. We were good customers but today we will no longer be.

You always have to wait 90 minutes before receiving food, plus the staff is not pleasant and the only explanation is that we have the right to take longer!! It’s shameful for the price it asks!

Small place where Japanese food is served. Better to reserve because they have very few tables. It has delivery & take away. I ordered the vegetable gyozas (8/10) and the pork rôti ramen (4/10, both the soup, the ingredients, and the noodles left a lot to be desired). For dessert 3.60 for 1u of mochi, ridiculous. If you are hot, I do not recommend it, because THE LOCAL IS HEATED BY ONLY A COUPLE OF FANS AND THAT IS A GRILL. NOTHING NICE TO EAT THERE IN SUMMER!!!

Quite simply the best Japanese restaurant that exists here. You can't do anything wrong by eating here. Just remember to book in advance if you want to eat there!

We placed an order with delivery at 7:20 p.m. and 9:02 p.m....still no news from the restaurant. Having not heard from them, we are therefore taking steps to find out the status of the delivery. The restaurateur tells us that "he has had the order in front of him since a while ago, but that the Uber delivery person has not yet come by to take the delivery." More than 2 hours of waiting without apology or commercial gesture. It's a shame....

Always excellent at Matuya Sushi. Go there with your eyes closed. We often eat inside, be careful it's very small and there are only 4 tables. Better to book to be sure. In summer it gets a little hot inside. Otherwise, take away and go anywhere in Friborg to enjoy your meal. Thanks to Matuya for being there in Friborg :-)

Best sushi in town: in terms of value for money, quantity, quality, taste and flavors. Very good for taking away as it is rather difficult to eat inside (maximum time and rarely space). Very friendly and welcoming service. However, I regret not having the possibility of placing orders online - the announcement suggests that it is occasional but it has been a very long time since we have been able to place orders online. In addition, original and new associations would be welcome - it remains very classic. For us who like to vary tastes, we have to turn to other restaurants.

I had a pleasant experience at this Japanese restaurant. Although the place is small, giving the feeling of being in a real Japanese bar, the open kitchen and low-key ambiance make the experience even more authentic. The sushi was fresh and tasty, and the ramen was incredibly good. But what really made the difference was the treatment we received, the service was excellent and we felt welcome at all times. Overall, I would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone who loves Japanese cuisine. If you are looking for an authentic and delicious experience in the center of Fribourg, value for money, this place is definitely a great option.

I've been wanting to try Matuya's sushi for a while given the number of positive comments... And I wasn't disappointed! Despite a somewhat long wait between 12 p.m. and 1 p.m. (rush period), I found the place small but very warm, the employees are friendly and attentive and of course the sushi is just excellent! Matuya is one of my top 3 best Japanese restaurants that I have tried! I highly recommend !

THE BEST SUSHI PLACE I HAVE EVER BEEN!!! not only for its delicious dishes, but also for its excellent customer service. The site has a very special atmosphere and quite an interesting intimacy which for some may not be striking... but for me it was the highlight of the experience. Today, for Valentine's Day, they made a very nice gesture by giving us a rose. SUPER RECOMMENDED site. I loved all the sushi my husband and I enjoyed. THE BEST SUSHI SITIO IN THE ESTADO!!! No solo for our delicious dishes, but also for our excellent customer service. The site has a very special atmosphere and a rather interesting privacy that for some reasons it can be forgotten. Hoy por San Valentin tuvieron un gesto muy lindo, regalarnos una rosa. SUPER RECOMENDED location. I'm delighted with all the sushi that we enjoy with my esposo.

We go for so long to this place every single week, and never even thought to put a review.... This place! This sushi! This service! This udon! Just wow!!! It is our place to order when we are sad, when we are hangover, when we are celebrating, when we don't want to cook.. Always spicy tuna and tempura shrimps uramaki, tuna and loup-bar nigiri.. We have tried all the sushi they are doing and those are our favourite. The ones that are already pre-made to go are not as good as the ones from the menu, but everyone to their taste. If you go, and you want to have a table, you need to reserve at least one day before as the place is small with only 4 tables for 2 people each, but it is so cozy that it's worth it. A must to try is their nigiri, miso soup and homemade iced tea... Heaven! Lately we tried the udon and ramen, and seriously I can't wait for winter to come and enjoy those hot dishes when it's cold and snowing outside. The staff is always well spoken, friendly and smiling. The food is of high quality and they always do those uramaki as 10 pieces instead of 8 written in the menu. Always, always a great surprise! Without a doubt is the best sushi of Fribourg, one of the best services we ever had and a very very yummy tuna! The prices and the location are a plus.

We regularly order takeaway from MATUYA since we have been in Fribourg. The staff is very nice, the food excellent, sometimes a few oversights in terms of sushi but the quality of the food quickly makes you forget that point. We recommend !! Best restaurant in town to taste sushi and Asian dishes. Only one negative point, perhaps: the interior of the restaurant is a little small to accommodate people, it is better to take away.

Really good ! The staff is very friendly. And they are informed about allergies (I am gluten-free so I had a gluten-free soy sauce). The sushi is exquisite. Unfortunately it was much too hot in the restaurant, because it is small and the kitchen is right next door... The toilets and the restaurant were clean. We had a lot of fun coming!

Super fine sushi in different combinations. Very friendly service, speaks French, German and English. It has four tables in take-away. It's rather narrow and dark here. But the food is so good that you forget everything. Big compliment.

We love the Unagi Don here. But the restaurant is small. You have to reserve early if you want a place. Service can be slow during peak takeout times. Come between midday and evening.
