Mensa Gibb Five in Bern

Since the ZFV took over the Mensa Five, I have eaten here every day and enjoy coming to eat. The food is always good and the staff is very friendly. The menus have something for everyone. During this time, I've literally never eaten anything I didn't like. As for the price: For 10.50 CHF you get a menu that really tastes good and the portions are more than large enough. That's why I think the price is very reasonable. --- EDIT --- I've been eating here for 3 years now and have never been disappointed. A lot of positive things have changed in these 3 years. There are also more and more offers. Thank you, dear ZFV team, keep it up! I look forward to continuing to be your guest.

When the offer is right, the food is actually good, but I've noticed that recently they've been very stingy with the quantity. The prices are far too expensive for apprentices and now you hardly get anything; you have to go scoop 3-4 times to get enough.

The food is very tasty and beautifully prepared. The ambience is also right and you feel comfortable. The service is great and the people are very friendly. The prices are very fair. Can just be recommended!

I eat lunch here twice a week and have never been disappointed in 3 months. The cafeteria is really one of the best things about the GIBB. I always get a large plate of fries (with cocktail sauce) for 7.50 and a salad for 1.50. So I have a great menu for 9 francs. You can also get nice cold water for free. The salad is really inexpensive. The staff is really very friendly. You can even get more fries if you ask. That's why you're always full. Of course, 9 francs is not a small amount for an apprentice, but I would say it's worth it for what you get.

When the cafeteria still belonged to Gibb it wasn't good, but it was better than it is now! The new Migros employees make a grim impression, the food is slammed/thrown onto your plate, which makes you feel really unwanted. The pasta is overcooked or watery, we eat the same thing about every two weeks, the salad is always the same unless there was rice three days before, then there is also rice salad... The only vegetables they seem to eat are peas, carrots and cauliflower know. Very often written incorrectly, but it is noticed but changed, no, for what? Everything is becoming more and more expensive. Unfortunately not recommended.

The "vegetable risotto" which cost 9.90 was just rice pudding with vegetables. I felt like I was in the school cafeteria from The Simpsons

The food itself is ok. However, if there is ONE order, the staff manages to forget it. Afterwards I was asked five times in a row which sauce I wanted, I don't know what these people misunderstood by TARTAR.

It's a clean affair when it's open.

It used to be a cheap canteen, but because not enough people were using the canteen, the prices were increased. Now, in my opinion, it can no longer compete with the cheaper alternatives nearby. The canteen is far too small for such a large vocational school! It should also be possible to eat the food you brought with you with your colleagues without everyone being scared away. If the weather is bad and many people still decide to eat in the canteen, then the staff is understaffed and inefficient. Yesterday four checkouts were open, there were four queues but only one cashier who took turns serving all four checkouts. I can't imagine that this corresponds to Migros quality. By the way, the opening times are also catastrophic! It can't be that a school cafeteria is only open for 1 hour during lunch.
