In great weather we went on a hike to the Métairie de l'Isle on September 12th, 2022. Very nice service from the boss himself and “chli gssay, of course in French”. The rösti, the fine ham and the dessert were a hit! Finally, a really good Café Maison... with lots of schnapps and "Nidle" on it... what more could you want :-)! We'd love to come back!

Very beautiful place in quiet nature. Ideal as a base for hiking even if accessible by car. The food is good and traditional, what you would expect from a smallholding. Better to book on weekends.

Getting there is an adventure - yes, the road that looks like a hiking path is the correct one! On top of a mountain, surrounded by an idyllic Heidi scenery is this small but lovely restaurant. Authentic Swiss experience, complete with friendly, curious cows and mouth watering food. Loved it!

I was there with 2 friends. Unfortunately we didn't know that the restaurant was closed. When we were there, the owners were nice enough to make us a quick fondue anyway. The Fondue du Chef was extremely tasty, it tasted great and the cheese went perfectly with the wine. The prices are good and the landlady and the other people are very friendly. The view is phenomenal. I absolutely recommend eating a delicious fondue in the evenings and then enjoying the view (walk slightly downwards from the hut and then look to the right towards France). Probably one of the most beautiful places in Switzerland to watch the sunset. And what goes better with a beautiful sunset, cool mountain air and peace than a delicious fondue? Simply a great location, an absolute insider tip and worth every franc!
