Mill'Feuille in Luzern

Was sitting outside for a late lunch. Really great spot with a cosy atmosphere, especially outside on a sunny day. We had knusperli and tartare, food was super. It was a busy day so the service was a bit slow, that’s about the only thing that could have been a bit better. We had a really friendly service at our table but were greeted by a rather grumpy young lady when arriving. A friendly and smiley face just creates such a good vibe and it is so easy, but not everyone can offer this. Thank you for having us!

The food could be very improved and expensive for what it is. For two mustards with a hamburger they charged me €75, even though I had a cold and I saved the medicines I was going to buy at the pharmacy because with so much mustard my nostrils opened. Otherwise, it wasn't bad: the place is nice and the service is good.

The site is very nice, it is very well located and has good views. The staff was very friendly. The food, however, could very much be improved. We ordered two hamburgers that were nothing special and we could hardly eat them because of the amount of mustard they had and they charged us €75. I would recommend it only to go for breakfast or snack.

The size of the food is very small and their matcha latte is very disappointing (I asked if it’s possible to add some matcha because I literally got a glass of milk and they just put some powder on top… for 6.80chf I don’t recommend…) However the staff is very friendly

I've had breakfast in many places. I was disappointed with the cheese plate. Huge price for little extra. Otherwise everything was good. Staff friendly. Great location on the Reuss.

Food was great, I ate the woolly pig! I can recommend it. Staff was friendly. Atmosphere appealing. Will come again & can recommend it. If you reserve early enough, you also have a chance of a romantic table with a river view.

Worst service of my entire life. We arrived at 8pm with 6-8 tables still seated and eating, we asked if we could be seated for dessert, they said yes. I ordered 1 scoop of ice cream and my wife ordered 2 scoops. That's it. We waited 40 minutes. The same server finally came back and asked what we wanted again, didn't apologize, and entered our order on the tablet right in front of us. Waited another 20 minutes, and nothing. The server and 2 bartenders were just slowly cleaning up for the night for this entire hour. Finally the last table got up to leave, and it was so awkward and uncomfortable that my wife just wanted to leave, extremely disappointed and stressed out-- she's clearly pregnant, by the way, and only relevant insofar as it adds to the ridiculousness of the story. On our way out, the server just said, "I don't know"... no apology... and swished us towards the door with his hands. So bizarre and a horrible experience. We specifically said we were dissatisfied when we left, and the server did not respond. Only showed us the door. BTW, we ate dinner here yesterday. It was fine, but everything was underseasoned. Obviously did not eat anything tonight, despite our efforts.

Really good food and also price-wise ok. Staff was friendly but it was quite hard to catch their attention and get time to order or pay. They never checked upon us during our stay (we had to stand up and get them).

Atmosphere/location great Service & food rather mediocre despite an interesting, varied menu

There were four of us there for Saturday breakfast. The food was generally great, but the Onzen egg was a bit bland. I also thought it was a shame that they used frozen spinach instead of fresh, even for the price. The service was very polite and friendly. The request to add 2 tranches of bacon to the aforementioned egg was impossible and somewhat disappointing for the expected standard. The atmosphere of sitting directly on the Reuss was very nice and you felt comfortable.

Extremely nice and courteous staff and great breakfast

A bit disappointed of their coffee. Affogato coffee thing is very small (might be because I expect the bigger size compared to the price we paid). Foods are ok but their staff and atmosphere are very relax. I would suggest of you find a place for coffee chat or small catch up!

Male employee physically shoved me out of womens bathroom. Kept speaking to me in his own language which i clearly did not understand. No attempt to nicely communicate what he wanted. I guess if you dont speak Swiss, shoving is what you get in this cafe. After that, the rest of us being there was obviously ruined. Will never go back. Oh and also if you are not Swiss the tap water is 2chf a glass. Beware.

There is definitely still a lot of room for improvement in the service, often unfriendly. Great location & good drinks/selection.

My partner took me here on a romantic dinner. He checked before hand that they offer gluten free options. Thy have vegan options as well. It’s such a romantic and warm experience. The food was delicious and the service was excellent.

Unfortunately, my recent visit to the 'Mill'Feuille' restaurant was not satisfactory. The boss was very rude when he asked us if we had reserved and also appeared very irritable when showing us the table. I also observed him disrespecting an employee. Such behavior worsens the atmosphere in the restaurant.

Really beautiful location (natural style decorations and terrace overlooking the Reuss), very good food (we took a starter to split). Unfortunately for the slow staff, we waited a long time for the order.

My wife & I arrived at 6:30 pm today for a quick dinner. It wasn't very busy on our arrival and we ordered 2 glasses of wine, olives & gruyere cheese as starters followed by trout & lasagne for our mains. The starters, served in small glass ramekins, & wine came out quickly. The wine & gruyere were very pleasing. By 7:45 pm we asked the waiter where our mains were. He replied that he was waiting for us to finish our cheese and olive starters before asking the kitchen for our mains to be made. We found his response to be incredulous as we had finished the small starters within 15 minutes of them being served. The waiter said he would ask the kitchen to make our mains but didn't come back to us to say how long the wait would be. After another 5 minutes of waiting we decided that we had enough of the poor service, paid for our wine and starters and left. No apology was made for the inconvenience they had put us through.

Unfortunately very grumpy and rude staff to foreign folk, asking questions and not being answered helpfully, made to feel like a problem.

the inside is beautifully done, glass windows that outlook the river, naturally lit and inviting. the food was delicious, the server did make a few mistakes with ordering, even though we pointed at everything we wanted.

We went here on the very last day of our trip for some breakfast, it was a lovely cafe overlooking the river! The food was really good - we ordered a croissant, some coffee, plate of cheese, baked eggs and waffles with pumpkin in blood orange sauce. Everything came in delicious and fresh! I like their menu as it had some more options than common breakfast you’d find around. People were lovely and vibe was very relaxed!

We were at Mill'Feuille in December, we had made reservations 3 weeks in advance, so we had a great table by the water. The December lights over the Reuss are great... Nut salad was very tasty, the marinated guinea fowl yummi, the corn muffin was surprising, I had never had it before, very delicious, the braised orange Brussels. My partner had the pulled beef lasagne, with arugula & burrata. It was also very delicious. Finally, the buttermilk panna cotta, nice and light and my partner had the Affogato Mill'Feuille with yogurt ice cream, also delicious and light. We had a really nice evening. Very nice restaurant with a fantastic atmosphere, and the food was good! Service could have been a bit better, super friendly staff but it took a really long time for us to get to order drinks, we got our snacks in before our starter drinks, and they didn't come around to take new drink orders when the glasses were empty.

I visit the premise by the middle of November at lunch time and the food was okay. Nothing extraordinary but for the price i paid, I would say that is not bad.Unfortunately my day didn't end up well in this restaurant as my jacket was stolen and I had to leave in my shirt. It can happen to anyone but what made me upset was the reaction of the staff( chef de service or stv). She was very unfriendly and showed zero empathy to my awkward situation. As I asked her where my jacket is, because one of the staff members took it from the table to place it somewhere... She cold replied ; "is not my fault and we don't take any responsibility" Really???? Then she would excuse her colleague who took my jacket at the first place with the same cold attitude : " she is on her trial day" . VERY UNPROFESSIONAL and unfriendly person for such position. She refused to tell me her name because of "data privacy"...

We had a delicious breakfast. The place is beautiful, right in front of the river in the old town. Great atmosphere and value for money.

A great place to pause and enjoy. The establishment is located in a wonderful place, you can look at the canals of the mills, at the old town, at the hill with the tower, at the old streets or admire the water. I liked. There are two playgrounds on the street, one of them near the water, cozy corners inside.

Overall, we really liked the restaurant, the ambiance and the food! However, we sat in a section of tables that all faced a portion of the kitchen, which took away from the otherwise nice ambiance. Secondly, we ordered the millefeuille for dessert and the pastry layers were a bit burnt. We would go back but only with a reservation.

Despite booking a week in advance, we couldn't get a free spot for brunch on the Reuss. The boss just said it was for guests who made reservations early?! The coffee tasted very good, but it stayed that way. I'd rather spend my money somewhere else...

The food was great as always. The menu is small but creative and changes depending on the season. There are many dishes for vegetarians, but meat eaters will also get their money's worth. The food came quickly. The location and the ambience are beautiful and invite you to linger. Well suited for a romantic date. The only negative point was the service. The young man spoke German with a strong accent and sometimes had difficulty understanding our wishes. He forgot and overlooked us several times. This resulted in longer waiting times when ordering the dessert and paying the bill.

The food was alright but the vibe was really nice. It could just be that we didn’t like the food too much but nothing was particularly good or bad. Just ok. It didn’t seem worth the hype to me.

Inattentive, unfriendly, no empathy and zero hospitality and there was almost nothing going on Drinks and food were ok but bland, iced coffee with a shot felt like it had 10 shots, you couldn't taste any more of the coffee, just alcohol Location is nice, nice place by the water but lots of people walking past

Hospitable team and great restaurant on the banks of the Reuss. Weatherproof “winter garden”. Open the window, like outside 👍 Unfortunately our food, the tartare and the Maultaschen were quite bland. Had to ask for salt and pepper. Optional Tabasco would be excellent with the tartare! In addition, the bottle of white wine was served at room temperature, but a cooler was brought upon request. Overall a recommendation.

Went there once, found the food to be quite average but maybe that’s a difference in pallets between Indian and European cuisines. Went there a second time and were asked to wait for a table. Meanwhile, other people kept coming and taking their seats. Not sure why that was the case.

I ordered a burger that was very seasoned, and the meat was seasoned and felt like rubber I ordered caramel dessert. There was no bitter taste. It looked sweet, but the taste was very bad. Very bad taste 😷😷

Starter squid was top! For the main course we had an Asian dish, which didn't taste at all the way you normally would. The pizzas were ok. There were no things for the children to paint with, etc. The service was a bit annoying, every time a different waiter came and asked the same thing (food, drinks, etc.) that someone else had already asked a few minutes before. The food was ok, but we won't go back again.

We wanted to be a group of 4 We sat down and were attacked very aggressively and non-interpersonally by an orange-haired service employee because we were looking for a place on a sunny Saturday. The place looks very nice, but that's not how you kill guests who bring money✋

Very cozy restaurant, friendly, uncomplicated staff, fine in-house food and drinks

Went there with our guests. Was a luxurious ambiance facing the lake. We sat inside and ordered all vegetarian dishes off the menu. The cheese platter was great. The sour bread with different toppings was ok. Could have been skipped. The drinks were amazing . My friends also liked the homemade soda. We ordered mochtetasche and falafal salad for the main course, and it was filling enough for 4 people. The cream layered pastry with berries was a good dessert to call it an evening. However, we also checked out the ice cream menu and ordered a strawberry one. The picture looked larger than the real ice cream. But where the thing was super tasty and the atmosphere was chic.

Amazing Bar with very good quality coffee. The male attendants were really nice and kind, while the cute blond girls gave actually an air of unkindness.. But overall very good place for working and having amazing beer selection and good coffee quality! The view is amazing amd very well decorated ...

Superb place next to the water. Was no problem to have our 1 year old child their, although there wasnt a kids corner. The food was very good and special. Different than other places. Good for vegans/glutenfree and the price was definitely reasonable

Well placed, nice view of the Reuss. Excellent dishes (braised beef and burrata lasagna, very well made Caesar salad) but the caramel panna cotta was... really strange, a kind of block without cream... Friendly service.

Food was amazing so I were the drinks, our server could have put some more attention to our needs as he sadly never asked again if we need anything else. Atmosphere was great and we will be back

The coffee is very excellent They have an apple pie that is in the picture that is very, very delicious, and I went back to them twice because of it, but the first time it was red and delicious, and the second time, unfortunately, they did not brown it at all and it was completely soft and different from the first time 💔 Nice waffle suitable for children The staff are below average

The restaurant was pretty full when we got there and hence we were seated at the very corner of the restaurant, next to the flight of stairs leading to the toilet - no river view of course. This is our very first meal in Switzerland and we were expecting it to be good given the high ratings on google. We love the lentil-melon salad! It’s very special and refreshing. The lasagne however was a bit difficult to finish towards the end. Dessert was excellent. Service was okay, it would be great if they could tell us that the bread is free flow and there are more variety of bread options to choose from.

Went for coffee with organic oat milk! Great they have plant milk! It was a hot day so perhaps that didn’t make the staff too forthcoming, fast and friendly, even though there was not much happening at all at the time of day we were there. And we were directed from the river to the other side of the terrace (still fine), though many seats were still free there. Asked for a glass of iced tab water for a slightly overheated child and got a glass warm water. Toilets not too clean. Keep trying!

The staff is always very friendly and responds to the customers' wishes. The food is terrific and the location is beautiful. I can warmly recommend this restaurant to everyone!

The most terrible service you can afford. Firstly, the waiter did not speak English (speaking Italian), so he brought us something that we did not order. Okay, we were in a hurry and did not want to swear, we drank what they brought us. When we paid, the waiter began to become hysterical when he saw that we would pay with coins and not by card. He began to insult and ask ironically, “Where are you from, what country did you come from?” (the only thing he said in English) Not a professional, nervous and a brawler... He spoiled us all the mood.

Charming restaurant next to the Reuss river with views of the water. We were lucky to get a table after a 15 minute wait but had to eat in about an hour since the table was reserved, reservation recommended. Ordered brunch from the extensive menu which was excellent. Two dishes per person were about right. We got the sausages, the oven eggs with ham, the salmon sandwich, a bowl of fruit, the rather sour strawberry muesli, and a waffles. Friendly English speaking staff who especially came to tell us there was a open table. Definitely recommended.

Food was average good. Unfortunately, I can't say that any of the dishes except the salmon bagel were delicious and unique. We had the Mill'Feuille Eig with sweet hummus and the cheese platter. Cheese plate was good cold and had good pieces. The egg had no special or noteworthy taste. The hummus was fine but not to my taste. Tea was nice but unfortunately the bread basket was dirty with some stains and the prices are within a range where 0.0x should be the case. Panna cotta was not panna cotta. Zero similarity, just vegan. I wouldn't recommend. Pure disappointment. They were hospitable but I won't visit there a second time.

The charge me for five wines that I never had and after I paid I checked my bill, then I noticed there is five wine on it when I ask him they just returned back the money cash on me without apology I tried the meat burger. It wasn’t so bad they don’t have the original Coke. They just have the Swiss Coke place is amazing The food wasn’t good for my taste Also, it’s not easy to find a park for your car because it’s located in very busy area.

I never wrote a post about a restaurant in the past. So either this means I loved or hated this restaurant experience. The restaurant was half full inside and despite this we’ve been waited a long time to be given the English menu. We ordered a well done egg in the oven and that came raw or at least slowly cooked. The still water in the menu from Lucerne was it specified if bottled or not. I ordered specifically a large bottle of water to share it with my family and it came as a large glass of water. This was not clarified by the waiter despite I asked for the bottle. The waiter had ignored us few times when calling them despite they where close by. The waiter name is Tim. Even when I asked for the bill from the manager, I waited for 10 minutes, neither he brought it nor he told our waiter Tim. When Tim showed up again, I asked for the bill but he asked a colleague of his to deal with it. I never raised the rase flag if I ever had a bad experience in a restaurant or anywhere else, but It was a clear cut as a muslim family we felt disrespected and discriminated against. I was watching the way other customers who came after and left before, always dealt with and treated with smiling and excellent hospitality. Today is Sunday July 23rd, 2023 just early in the afternoon.

Delicious food, nice ambience and great service.

Our first dining experience in Lucerne was fitting: great food at ridiculous prices. By the end of our time in Lucerne we just realized that, yeah, Lucerne is EXPENSIVE. We enjoyed the lasagna but it was more warm than hot, probably having sat in the kitchen longer than anticipated. My wife was also bummed by how small her very expensive drink was. But overall the experience and atmosphere was pleasant. Great location by the river!

great offer - whether breakfast, lunch, coffee and cake, aperitif or dinner. Great young concept with motivated hosts. The great location in the middle of Lucerne is beautiful.
