Wow! The best donuts I've ever eaten. “Blueberry & Lavender” was like biting into a cloud of fragrant flowers and warm blueberry muffins. Cinnamon rolls and crepes face serious competition with the “Cinnamon & Sugar” donut. Thank you for the unique taste experience!

Please, everyone: Don't believe any of the nasty comments or bad reviews on here! This is the best donut shop! I grew up in Canada and I know what a good donut is! Really love their creative flavours. Super friendly staff, clean. And yes: they did change their recipe for a couple months or so in the summer (i was disappointed too) but i told them that when I went again the next time and they explained and said they won't be doing that again. The last few times I went it was back to their fluffy, oh-so delicious brioche-donuts.

small take out only donuts and coffee place. offer is limited to the production of the day. very good donuts, great coffee and a lovely owner! perfect pitstop to get some sugar and caffeine boost ;)

Very friendly service and super cute shop! The donuts are on point - A slight crispy crunch when you bite into it with a fluffy and light interior. So hard to choose which topping to go with as they all look and taste so good!

01/23/2024 Unfortunately I can no longer recommend it. They used to be incredibly great and I always had fun 2-3 times a year, but now the dough is dry and the donuts have become much smaller. It's a shame, they had a great product, what happened?

The small shops in the side alley look very inviting. I got 2 donuts there. They tasted good, I didn't taste apples in some or cardamom in others. Unfortunately, they promised more by name than they offered in terms of taste

Cute place very small takeout mostly but the donuts are delicious! Light, airy not too sweet and the owner is a really nice guy. We will be back in warmer weather to try the iced coffee!

The owner told me about this place on Reddit. Months later I finally got a chance to get a Donut. And let me tell you, it was absolutely amazing. I don't care if something is Vegan or not. These are just absolutely amazing handmade fresh Donuts. Unlike many others (you know, these soggy dough pieces you get at fast food chains) these are nice and soft but won't cover your entire mouth with a grease layer. I'm sure they have many calories but it doesn't feel like it after all. I'll definitely be back here. Probably on the more expensive side if you only look at the price of a regular Donut. For me it is a very fair price for a fresh and handmade product. Also the donuts are huge and the owner seems to care about food waste so he only makes a certain ammount and is just sold out after that which I want to support. Also Basel is getting more and more big chain bakeries and I want to support someone who is producing fresh daily. Buy here, you support so many great things with just one Donut :)

Delightful doughnuts and the owner is very friendly. Head and shoulders above the heavy and super sweet competition by the well known brands.

What happened to this place? Last year they were selling the most delicious, lush looking and tasting doughnuts with original flavors. Last week we picked up a box of mini round cakes half the size that were basically dry muffins smothered in icing. It was as close to a doghnut as pita is to sourdough. Horrendous! Best donuts in Basel, and I’m not even vegan

While walking around we spotted this place, with all vegan made delights! It was very small inside and no seating but that didn’t stop us from order one of everything they had! The gentleman that took our order was very friendly and helping in explaining each treat and what was in it.. even if you are not vegan you will really enjoy the flavors.

First of all, I really like the commitment and attitude of this shop 🫶🏻 A friend had recommended it to me. They specialize in donuts but also serve cookies and coffee. And the coffee is really really good, I want to emphasize that. I had two donuts: sugar & cinnamon and chocolate with raspberry. I really have to say: It was very convincing. Especially chocolate and raspberry was soooo delicious. Not too sweet. Juicy and chocolaty. Very fresh! However, for my understanding it was not a classic donut but a cake in donut form. I hope you understand what I mean :D Nevertheless, it was very tasty and I can absolutely recommend this little store! 🫶🏻

The donuts are half the size they used to be and are still 4.50 chf which is shockingly overpriced. The donuts are dry, have no flavor, and just taste bad. Absolutely not worth it.

At the end of a weekend in Basel, we ended up walking past the Mystifry while walking through the old town. The prospect of vegan donuts convinced us to take a look. There was only one variety left at this point, but it sounded very tempting. So we bought 4 extremely delicious donuts and spent our last "20 franc" note very sensibly and, above all, enjoyably. Plus a very nice conversation with the young man from Cornwall... Simply perfect! I would visit the Mystifry again and again if I was in Basel again. Thanks for this great experience!

The donuts are hit or miss, the earl grey flavored “london mist” was yummy. On the other hand their vegan bacon tastes like feet. In general, if I’m not too lazy to walk to dunkin or the nearest starbucks, I’d avoid this place. Side note, seems like this place is disneyland for woke people based on how they respond to negative critics here 😂 Edit: now there’s a new Starbucks 50 meters away. Cheers

Always worth a detour (or trip?) to stock up on delicacies on a walk through Basel's old town. The range changes regularly, the products are handmade and a hundred times better than all the products from the colorless chains in the area. The service is great, always friendly, always helpful when you can't decide. Absolute recommendation in Basel!

A hidden donut restaurant in Basel! Different types of donuts are served every day, and only a certain number of donuts are sold, so they close early when they are sold out. It's a donut, but it's not too sweet or greasy, so it feels like eating a high-quality cake. It's expensive at 4-5 francs each, but it's worth a try. I took off one star because the store is so small and you have to order takeout.

The donuts are great, I forgot about any other brands after that taste... And recently tried the cheesecake which is amazing too and lighter than usual one 🤩

An amazing takeaway place with vegan donuts! The menu changes all the time, but remains great! It's incredible how they make pure vegan donuts with such fluffy dough and such tasty feelings, glaze, and toppings. One of the best desserts in Basel. I also frequently buy gift cards for my friends. Service is always good, quick, and very friendly! Coffee is not that good in my opinion, but it doesn't really matter, as this is the place for takeaway

Amazing vegan bakery and coffee shop in a very cute old building. The shop is tiny but full of kindness, warmth, and an inclusive vibe. The pride flag hangout outside is a bonus too! The two doughnuts I got are amazing and the coffee is as well. Definitely worth a stop for any vegan (or non-vegan) in the city!

We heard about this store when we planned our Basel Day-trip and looked for culinary specialties on the Basel tourism website. We were immediately hooked when we saw the pictures of the served donuts. After a look on the Google ratings we quickly saw that the bad ones are all obviously fake... (Google should delete those...). We had 4 (Maple Latte, Chocolate and Peanut Butter Pretzel, Strawberry Cheesecake, Mexican Hot Chocolate) of the 6 specialty donuts served this week and not one disappointed us. All of them had distinct features and flavours that made them unique. Even though these Donuts are not cheap they are worth every cent and we would come back if it wasn't for the 500km trip :( Overall worth a trip and huge recommendation from us!

A cozy Donut corner, with amazing taste, innovative and lovely flavors and purely homemade. A little expensive factor is well justified once they reach your mouth! Probably the best not only in Basel, but in the entire region.

I love those donuts! Vegan, fresh and creative combinations. I bought lots of them for a big pre-xmas party and everybody was happy! I love the fact that they are conscious about food waste. Last but not least: the staff is always super charming :)

Tastiest vegan donuts in town! We get some regularly and have always been lucky that there hasn't been much going on. We've often received some as gifts because it was just before the store closed

Delicious espresso, deftly crafted from a 1960s faema. local roast changed regularly. Minor figures oat milk. Outrageously good doughnuts and awfully nice guys. Not to mention the cafés unusual vibe, ironic sense of humor and doughnation wall. We’ll worth the stop.

We came across the shop by chance. Because of Halloween, all the donuts were black. Nonetheless, they were incredibly tasty. The one with Earl Gray flavor was particularly great. The service was friendly, thank you very much!

When Chef’s Table does a “Donuts” series, Mystifry must be episode 1. In a city and a country not exactly known as a foodie paradise, Mystifry is awesome, and I cannot recommend it any more highly. As far as I can tell, they craft about 6 different donuts each month, each unique. The brioche dough has the perfect moist, chewy and slightly sweet flavor you want in a donut, and even if the topping, coating or filling is not exactly my thing, I still finish up by scraping every bit of crumb, icing and filling off the box. Given that the shop is tiny, in a 900 year-old building just adds to Mystifry’s greatness. My wife recently gave me a box of six, one of each of the monthly flavors, in place of a birthday cake. Good thing she got more for anyone else who wanted a taste. I ate them all that day in two sittings.

Fantastic donuts and a very friendly store manager who explained everything to us (His name was Luke). We had a "RASPBERRY CHANTILLY" and a "MELON MINT"; both were super tasty! The donuts change regularly and are made fresh daily. The great thing, they are not so heavy on the stomach. Maybe because they are vegan. Priced totally within reason. Such local small stores should be supported! Keep it up!

I found out about this cute little donut shop through my partner. He had bought here a few times and sent me pictures. The donuts are soooo good (and I've tried a lot of donuts elsewhere) and the coffee is very, very tasty! I'm not from Basel, but I'll definitely visit the shop again the next time I'm here. The staff is also incredibly friendly and helpful :) I also think the concept is great, something that's sold out is sold out and then it's over - super sustainable, thumbs up ;) Keep it up, you're great!

Excellent sign in the window at the moment in Ukrainian, which really makes you laugh when put into Google translate. In this location, they allow themselves to use dirty curses. Especially with the permission of the owner. I believe that food cooked in a negative atmosphere is emotionally poisoned. I will not recommend this location to family, friends or neighbors. The owner of the location claims that the negative reviews are the result of an ad placed in the window. It is the right of everyone to call for support of one side, BUT using foul language is unacceptable in a civilized society. Especially where children can see it!
