Was there for lunch and as always it was super tasty, my favorite, salmon with teriyaki sauce and salad hemmmm

Nice sushi restaurant. Either self-service on the conveyor belt or à la carte. Then very nice service. Sushi is also very tasty. Also good with children because it is child-friendly. But quite expensive in terms of price. In Germany I would give 4 stars because I know better sushi restaurants with cheaper prices. In Switzerland the prices are a little higher, hence five stars.

Ambiance would be great. Unfortunately, the service is extremely bad (older man with glasses at the checkout at the lunch menu was super unfriendly & harsh… rarely experienced something like that). Unfortunately, the food tastes a lot like a canteen for the high price...

Aside from the atmosphere, there isn't really anything good about it. Valentine's Day ruined by bad and overpriced food. Really disappointing.

Wonderful place for Asian fusion food in Basel. Came here with a colleague for dinner and was pleased with the food, service and atmosphere. We had the gyoza and shrimp for starters, the risotto and salmon for mains and the chocolate fondant for dessert. Everything was great and would recommend this place if you want a switch from Italian and Swiss good.

We were there for Valentine's Day and had a delicious meal. The decoration and the welcome drink rounded it all off.

Were here again, if you sit at the extension of the sushi line you're in a lost position, you don't get the same attention, extras didn't come to us. If 1 chef prepares the sushi for around 40 people, the selection can't be top.

The food was very good. Ambient I was very surprised because I had only ever known the front part. I never thought it would be so big. The service at the beginning was great, always asking if everything was okay. After eating a little less until they cleared the plates and asked for the bill, it took a very long time.

Good food! The Singapore chicken and Red Thai Prawn curry is excellent! Updated Jan 2024: Came back here for our group dinner. Service standards have improved greatly. Our orders came very quickly this time, and the food is still as good.

Best sushi in Basel! Mega fresh and deliciously prepared. No matter whether at the sushi line or at the table.

Had lunch at NOOHN at the sushi line. Everything very fresh and very tasty. Wide selection of various rolls but also small salads. The sushi master also spontaneously made fresh things for us or recommended things. Unfortunately the price is very high.

NOOHN is your place to go in Basel if you want to treat yourself with high quality Asian cuisine in a well designed restaurant interior. It’s not cheap and therefore rather a place to go for a special event, but it’s definitely worth the money. I’ve been there 3 times so far and was never disappointed. NOOHN is always worth a visit. My favorite dish is the Beef Krapao that comes with spicy fried beef fillet strips, crunchy vegetables and rice. As a dessert, I can recommend the Chocolatefondant, a chocolate lava cake with ice cream and fruits. En Guete!

Unfortunately the ratio price / quality keeps getting worse and worse. Was a big fan of the restaurant 2/3 years ago, but not sure I will re visit again, at least for awhile. The new ramen noodle dish they have, for 40CHF, can be found, with better quality, at any Asian fast food around your corner for 15CHF...

Pleasant sushi bar, although the majority of it has yellow plates (14 francs)

We were assigned the farthest table in the restaurant. When we paid after 90 minutes, there were still a few tables (with a better location) free… Table allocation was incomprehensible. Service was ok, food bad, tasteless… convenience food… more appearance than reality. Price/performance is definitely not right. P.S: Meat/chicken had to be looked for. With a punch for 38 francs, you can expect more.

Noohn Bar: long waiting times, poor service and only English 👎🏻 not worth a visit

I have eaten here several times and felt compelled to write a review today because our food tonight was excellent! I feel the sushi bar team has really “leveled up” both the quality and creativity of their offerings. We were excited to dine here tonight and yet it actually exceeded our expectations and I wanted to thank the team and let folks know if you haven’t been for awhile it is definitely worth going back to Noohn!

There were five of us. Everyone ordered something different but the raw duck was the highlight. Simply terrible. Service doesn't understand what you want. When I got a cocktail that I didn't want, glass broke in my hands. Wow! I probably have the superpowers. I should eat the open raw duck. 🤮

The Noohn: cool stuff: In recognition of their outstanding service, I'd like to commend the exceptional and diverse team that collaboratively worked with unwavering dedication. We presented them with a unique challenge, and they responded by crafting a distinctive solution tailored to our needs. Such exemplary efforts are seldom seen in today's professional landscape. Nice environment with beautiful view. Good food.

Rooftop bar on the 5th floor. All drinks are on average CHF 2 more expensive, i.e. Apéro Spritz 14 instead of 12. And no nuts with it... Views are basically not bad, towards Elisabethenstrasse it's still the best. Unfortunately, parts of the roof terrace are closed off because the service route is too long?!? But generally relatively quiet....with portable background music relatively early (9 p.m.) in the evening.....

Best sushi in Basel! The service is top, the sushi station is very diverse and the drinks are great from A to Z! The atmosphere is very cozy and the rooftop bar is excellent! Definitely an expensive restaurant but very cool! We'd love to come back!

Good food, great ambience. Very very slow service unfortunately and rather unprofessional (dessert was prepared by the waiter). Price/performance not balanced.

There is room for improvement, but I haven't eaten so well in a long time. A place with large spaces, modern, a very chic and prestigious environment. The cocktails were divine and the food even more so. The only flaw, which doesn't make me give 5 stars, but which I would like to be a warning for improvement: is the service. The restaurant has many seats, but there were only two waiters serving the entire restaurant (inside and outside). This led to considerable waiting times, especially considering the price. Still exceptional quality. Super recommended and I will definitely return.

Good food, nice location (very spacious, lots of seating, including outdoor options when the weather permits), as well as good service. A bit on the expensive side.

Was waiting 5 min in front of the bar to make my orders. The barkeeper had better ideas than to serve me alltough the bar was very little crowded. I even replaced myself, so he sees me. I was the only one waiting on the bar. I take it personal.

Enjoyed the terrace over lunch, nice quiet place in the middle of the city. You can take something from self-service or from the menu. The self-service menus are of course cheaper. The food was very good and the service was also very friendly. It's just a shame that there are flowers on the benches everywhere in the garden. This could have been removed beforehand. It would also be nice if there were cushions on the chairs and benches.

Well let's just say they don't like flip flops. The quietest place I've seen and I was asked about a reservation. Not impressed.

My second time eating and drinking here, but my first time at their rooftop. Food was good. We had the sushi/sashi variety, edemame, and gyoza. It wasn't as good as the dinner service downstairs, but bc i know how delicious the dinner offering was downstairs i kept the rating at 5 stars. There was only 1 waiter on the roof and that was difficult for him to cover all the patrons. And we had to wait to get his attention. Especially when he was in the back or getting food and then the rooftop would be unmanned for those few moments at a time. I didn't want to rate service 4 stars bc it's not his fault, but i believe two people would be more prudent for service upstairs. Atmosphere was top. No criticism here.

We ate here for the first time last Saturday because we had only heard good things about Noohn. We really liked the design of the restaurant itself, which was modern and simple. The food was also very good, the curry and bowl were a good size and we were both full. The service was also very friendly. However, the prices are of course impressive. Nevertheless, we can recommend Noohn because the food was really very tasty.

It's said by many people to be the best sushi place they tried, but I can't agree with this. I tried a sushi set, and some of the combinations worked out really well and were quite delicious, but some of them were just too dry and not enjoyable. A couple of my sushi just broke apart and I couldn't pick them with sticks. But the fish and other ingredients were really fresh, so all in all it was okay. I also tried gyoza as a starter and they were fried too much. They were very crispy, but I almost couldn't taste anything. The only way I can describe the taste is - something deeply fried with the dough. As a dessert I tried mochi which is a frozen dessert. It was extremely hard to eat it with the dessert spoon. Maybe it would be nice to unfreeze the mochi a bit before serving, cause there was no way I could carefully take a piece of mochi, it was just sleeping and running away like a piece of ice. I was literally afraid that it will just pop out of the plate at one point. All in all - the place is not bad, it's okay. Maybe there were just too many customers when I was there, cause I had an impression that it was just a bad day to try the food there and usually they can make it way better. Unfortunately I was unlucky and didn't enjoy my food, so I have to give them only three stars

I can't understand the sometimes negative recessions. We were there on May 5th, 2023 and everything was perfect. Sushi was of top quality, the service was motivated and in a good mood and the chef showed leadership and took touching care of his employees. 5 stars and we will definitely come back.

Fresh food, amazing taste. Sashimi and Sushi are a definite try here. Edit : Portion size seem to have reduced a little but still 5 on 5 on taste.

Sushi table leaves a lot to be desired. Unfortunately, the selection is far too small - the same thing is served or put on the conveyor belt all the time. Salmon and tuna are on about 95% of the plates. For the price I expected more. Service and ambience was good.

This is the place where bad rice balls are promoted as "sushi" 😅. At the suhsi bar all "sushies" are prepared in advance and kept in a fridge and ready to serve. The rice is so hard and badly prepared and the (Japanese) cooker has no sushi skills at all. For true sushi lovers, you can skip this place. We will not come back again.

Our latest visit at NOOHN, will be, unfortunately, the last one. Service was extremely slow (waiting 30 minutes after seated without anybody acknowledging us, and almost an hour for the order to be delivered with mistakes) and ineffective. The quality of the food was average at best and a fillet supposed to be medium well was served rare. We felt very uncomfortable for suggesting the place to our company who have never been there before. Anyway, last time.

The Noohn is always worth a visit. However, I like the sushi bar more than the restaurant (because the menu is relatively small).

We had to wait a long time for drinks and almost 2 hours for food. Except for one waiter, the service was simply bad. Unfriendly and dreaming. If the restaurant is full then something has to happen. Yesterday on Valentine's Day nothing worked. Nevertheless, the food was good and a waiter did everything to ensure that we were just about satisfied in the end.

Waited for about 1 h 20 minutes to get some food (sushi). Very expensive (I wouldn't go back) but at least the food and drinks were good quality.

One star deducted due to the following deteriorations: - Poinz only on daily menus (i.e. no longer on fried rice etc.). - Coffee (after the meal) can only be ordered in self-service at the checkout and must be picked up there. Very unfortunate. Food remains good.

Unfortunately, the impression of the great atmosphere doesn't quite extend into the culinary aspect. The menu "Fried rice with chicken" was ok. The chicken should be slightly larger and juicier. The house tea was beautifully prepared and was delicious. The service was friendly and ok so far. Parking spaces are located directly on the street or directly in the Drachencenter parking garage or in the anfos parking garage. Both are located on Henric Petri-Strasse.

Today, February 2nd, 2023, we had something to eat and drink at the Sushi 🍱 Bar. A very cool atmosphere, space with a good design. The sushi 🍣 chef prepared plates every minute and something special in between. Thank you, it was cozy, entertaining and delicious. Interesting place. Today, Saturday, September 3rd, 2022, I went for a drink (coffee) and took a look at the inside of the restaurant. I will come again to experience what it is like in the evening

Basically a very nice location. Food is okay but the price is not appropriate - in my opinion.

We went spontaneously on a Wednesday and actually got a table, thank you! Food was great, had vegetarian ramen and teriyaki poke chicken, both with top quality ingredients. Service was friendly and professional, could have been a bit more attentive/faster. Volume at the tables a tad too high. Overall a nice experience, a place2be 👍.

I am amazed by this incredible restaurant. It is by far the best sushi and saki I have ever had! Kimihide Ishiguro is a sushi master, and he was able to craft specialty custom-made sushi for me per request. This made it possible for me to enjoy the sushi here for my birthday, as I am gluten free and vegan and typically have a hard time finding a place to appreciate sushi. I am so impressed, and thankful to have this wonderful place in Basel, Switzerland to enjoy the best sushi in the world!

By far one of my favorite Japanese, if you are a fan of high quality sushi this is a very good address in Basel

Fantastic Asian restaurant, staff of 10, good food, the price is normal for Switzerland (great), good location, there is a nearby drinking area with a quiet atmosphere as long as it is at hours not too early in the morning.

Weird self-service concept. Food was not bad. Ambience was nice in the inside area and the garden looked also beautiful.

We ordered tuna tataki with wakame salad. It came without. The server insisted to me that this IS a wakame salad (I’m brown so maybe he thought I didn’t know). Only when my husband flagged him down the 2nd time and asked him to point out the wakame, did he admit there was none and went on to bring us some. 2nd course, we ordered sushi and a teriyaki poke bowl. Sushi was pricy for a plate that looked empty and poor, dry and unappetising. And the poke bowl came with an avocado on top that was turning brown, was hard and completely dry, exactly like one used on a display dish left in open air all day. It was inedible. Again we tried to call the server but he just ignored us this time. So we just removed the avocado and had the dish without. Once we were finished with everything , we waited for 15 mins for him to notice us and come for the bill , completely ignored us. We were with a baby and it was getting quite late, so we finally got up to pay at the counter requesting that we would like to leave. There he kept us standing too continuing to serve others (note that the restaurant was not super full) saying that he has other customers to serve. I don’t know , maybe he was offended that I was right about the wakame and decided to hand out a not so great treatment to us? Also paying 40 chf for a dish and getting it with old and dried out avocado? If they were out, they could find a better one at the supermarket for under 2 chf … And to top it all, the attitude of the server. So no, do not recommend and will not return.

Its supposed to be one of the best Sushi places in Basel. Well in short, its NOT. Has Asian dishes, Sushi/Sashimi, limited selections, no music, almost empty despite them stating a reservation is required. But nevertheless, the food was fulfilling. I had reviewed the reviews and opted for the sushi tower which was almost satisfactory. Some items were Toooo salty though. Edamame received cold. Udon with beef strips was delish to be honest but heavy and felt with gravy. Couldnt finish my plate but still managed. All in all expect to drop a couple of hundred francs for food (with no alcohol).😳😳

Interesting interior design, restaurant garden. Tasty meals consumed in a pleasant atmosphere and surroundings. There is a parking lot and the city center nearby.

We went to the rooftop bar to have a drink. The view and ambience was great! However, we (3 people) were seated at a bar table even though there was a lounge with a sofa available that was not reserved. When we asked if we could sit in the lounge, we were told that only four people or more were allowed to sit there. Since the other 3 lounges were occupied by groups of 3 or EVEN 2 people, we asked if we could sit there and stand up if a larger group came. There was a reluctant silence. Unfortunately, that devalued the experience somewhat.

Great roof terrace. Staff very polite. Sushi 🍣 was ​​very tasty, but too small for 39 CHF per person. I also think the price of champagne 🥂 is excessive, 100 ml = 19 CHF. Borderline. We'd still like to come back for a drink. (but no more champagne 😉)

The sushi itself was very good. However, the price was a bit high for the quantity. The staff was friendly, but the atmosphere was less appealing. You could hear screaming from the kitchen and the room was far too hot. Edit: It was raining so we couldn't sit outside :-)

The sushi was good, but we expected a bit more for the price of the sushi tower for 2, even though we appreciated the quality of the fish. Although not fully booked, the location was very loud and very hot.

Excellent food quality (one of the Flammekuche and Sashimi's I had to this day). Staff were very helpful, friendly and ever-present. Beer was very nice; nonpasturized Stella Artois. I would recommend the rooftop for its nice view of the city.

I haven't been so badly served in a long time. Apparently this bar doesn't need a rooftop terrace. I ordered Cocktail Mai Tai. Definitely not a Mai Tai cocktail. I used to be a bartender myself and know what Mai Tai tastes like. When I asked, I complained to the waiter on July 1, 2022 at around 8 p.m. that it wasn't MaiTai. He showed me Bonn that he had booked Mai Tai. He wanted to tell me that if a Mai Tai was booked, then I got a Mai Tai. And the Fr. 18 for something undefined. I didn't drink that certain something, but I was allowed to pay Fr. 18 for it. Apparently this terrace bar doesn't feel the need to deliver what they claim. In addition, in the approximately 2 hours that we were there, people were sent home because everything was supposedly reserved. The seats were all still free when we left. There’s no need for anything like making money…OK

Visit at 12:15 on June 21, 2022. Literally ran out again after 5 minutes. Reason: 30 degrees outside, felt like 50 degrees inside, a sauna. No air conditioning? That really doesn't work at all. People were sweating and just gasping for air. In addition, completely outrageous prices. My rating ZERO stars.

The quality of the food (sushi, udon noodles) was good but the portions were quite small for an outrageously high price. The restaurant claims to be sustainable in other reviews and I like to support restaurants that care about nature and animal welfare, but the price of the food seemed a bit extreme to me. The water alone cost €9.

Don't be put off by the entrance. While the terraces of the surrounding restaurants are humming, this is a cemetery. The blast comes inside in the back. Cool restaurant, stylish people, great food. Service friendly and accommodating. Prices are on the upper side...but I'd be happy to do it again!
