Together with my wife and a friend we went to the Osteria del Trucca. The restaurant is well located in the center of Altstätten and has enough parking spaces in front of the restaurant and in the immediate vicinity. The restaurant is rustic and very similar to an Italian Osteria. The tables are spaced far apart, which creates a pleasantly private atmosphere. The restaurant was busy that evening and a reservation is recommended. The guests are mostly locals but also from the surrounding cantons and nearby Vorarlberg. The menu is well structured and clear. From typical Italian starters to soups, salads, pasta classics, homemade pasta specialties and main courses made from fish and meat, there is really nothing missing. The pizzas are divided into classic versions and gourmet pizzas. There is also something for the little guests to enjoy. The dessert selection is small but nice. We didn't have any wine, but there is a separate menu for this and we assume that the selection is large. The food was excellent and we loved it. I had finely sliced ​​beef (Tagliata di Manzo) with rocket, cherry tomatoes, parmesan and mashed potatoes, my wife had Saltimbocca alla Romana with baked potatoes and our friend had the tagliatelle with shrimps and saffron cream sauce. The price-performance ratio is good and people are happy to pay the bill given the very good service. In the end we left very satisfied, full and with a very positive impression. We will definitely go again and can highly recommend the Osteria del Trucca.
