The Papaya in Affoltern is right next to the roundabout. We visited the restaurant on Sunday evening and were able to park opposite in the parking garage and reach the restaurant on foot (2 minutes). We ordered the Peking duck for 2 people 2 days in advance. We were warmly welcomed and served. We received cover, drinks and food in a reasonable amount of time. Since the Peking duck is a complex dish, we waited about 20 minutes for the 1st of 3 courses. The menu consists of the first course, where duck skin caramelized with honey is served on crispy Chinese noodles and eaten with thin small flat cakes. Plus fine hoisin sauce and vegetables. In the second course, a soup with duck and mushrooms. In the 3rd and final course, the remaining meat is sezchuan once and once with bamboo shoots (mild) with fried rice and vegetables. The meat was very tender and the amount of food was more than enough! We were also shown in detail at the beginning how the dumplings are made with the skin. With drinks and the menu, the two of us paid 150.00, which is more than fair. We were allowed to have the leftovers packed up and enjoy them at home the next day. The restaurant is rather small but cozy and although food was always picked up (delivery and takeaway), it had a quiet and relaxed atmosphere. Payment possible by card or cash. The Papaya restaurant stands for quality and enjoyment. We usually order sweet and sour chicken, satay and red curry and have never been disappointed. The employees are quick and take their time. The restaurant is also beautiful and authentic. We are already looking forward to the next visit.

Fried noodles were completely over salted and the sweet and sour with fish and beef was simply inedible. 77.70.- straight into the trash, but I hate waste! Sehr gutes und qualitativ gutes Essen! Wir sind vom Essen sehr begeistert. Jedoch kam gestern unsere Lieferung verspätet & das trotz mehrmaliger Nachfrage resp. Bestätigung, dass sie pünktlich sein werden. Ich zahle gerne eine Lieferpauschale, aber dann habe ich auch eine entsprechende Erwartungshaltung, dass die Lieferung klappt resp. mehr oder weniger pünktlich ist. Des Weiteren wurde leider das Essen nicht korrekt geliefert, was natürlich ärgerlich ist, vor allem wenn die falsche Lieferung noch was beinhaltet was einem gar nicht schmeckt.

I ordered 4 dishes online via eat.ch early enough as I had a friend over for lunch and we both love Malaysian/Asian/Chinese as we both half Malay. I saw the reviews and was excited when placing my order and made sure to enter "Bitte sharf" in the special requests column knowing how bland most most truly spicy dishes are served in Switzerland.The food arrived on time and was nice and warm as we unpacked it. My first bite of the satay chicken was met with utter disgust as it was so watery and salty I could not even swallow it. There was no other flavor just salt and watered down liquid that seemed like diarrhea.My friend tried the Panaeng curry, the beef was tender but it was impossible to eat as it was super salty and also had no other flavors...not a chili in site or taste. I tried it and 15min later I had diarrhea. The chicken Satay curry Thai style was equally as bad...super salty, no actual peanut flavor and just a watery mess. One bite full and I just spat it out. this was by far the WORSE Thai food I've ever eaten. What infuriates me is that I placed the order early enough for them to have checked just how spicy I wanted the food if they were unsure as well as why have a special request section when this is not read?The chef truly needs some proper cooking lessons, clearly this is one of those Asian restaurants that have fooled people with watered down salty food. We parceled it all up and requested they collect their food and refund us....waiting to see if there's any response...guessing bad food will equal bad service -it usually goes hand in hand with such places from my experience.Overpriced trip to the toilet basically.

The chicken was tough. [Thai Curry] Panaeng Curry (scharf) was so salty I spat it out on the first bite. DO NOT ORDER FROM THE IS PLACE - the chef needs some serious cooking lessons. Only people who have no concept of Asian food would actually enjoy this puke. Wasted 83CHF only to make myself ill!
