Pinocchio in Dübendorf

I find myself visiting Pinocchio quite frequently. The "Scaloppine al Limone" with spinach is simply divine—a real knockout dish. I often opt for takeout from here. However, one downside is that there are no discounted prices for takeout orders. Despite this, the quality of the food keeps me coming back for more.

I was there on New Year's Eve on December 31st, 2023, it was a disaster, the service wasn't good, the starter was exactly the same from 2022, no changes and we got a chair from the garden, not comfortable at all. There was a table next to us with a lot of children and we couldn't enjoy it. The food was a small portion, I asked the service if I could get some more vegetables and a side dish, after 20 minutes of waiting I simply ordered dessert. Next year look for something different

We shared a vegetable side dish together. We had a plentiful and good meal. The chicken was juicy, the prawns were crispy and the fish was as fresh as it could possibly be in Dübendorf. As an undeniable occasional gourmand, I particularly appreciated that the waiter offered to bring us some leftover paella. We then shared this with pleasure. With 2 glasses of Prosecco at the beginning, a large bottle of mineral water in the middle and 2 espressos at the end, we rounded up to 175.-, which I think is reasonable for the offer and the service provided. We were very disappointed. We were there on a Friday evening and wanted to eat tapas. What is very special is that you have to order at least 6 tapas per person (!) if you want this as a main course. So they probably want to make sure that you spend enough money, since all tapas cost at least just under 8 francs. Nevertheless, the two of us ordered 12 tapas. Shortly afterwards the waiter came and told us that they didn't have any tapas as a main course on Friday, but we could have some as a starter. So you have to order at least 6 tapas, but 6 tapas are too many at the same time?!? There's nothing about it on the menu, and the waiter didn't point it out to us when we ordered or when he told us the daily specials. He then just said that it was only available from Monday to Thursday, when there were a lot of people on the weekend but it wasn't... Somehow it didn't really make sense. I would like to give the restaurant more stars because several people recommended it to us. Unfortunately we didn't get any food, so I can only give it one star. It was all very inflexible and complicated, we probably won't get there anymore.
