Pizzaautomat in Meiringen

We chose this restaurant as at had a good view of Lake Lugano. Our waiter had a tag saying "chef de service" and he looked like the senior staff member on duty that night. We were greeted politely in a standard fashion and the table was a good table. My wife and I are not big eaters. So we ordered an appetizer for each one of us and decided to share a pizza (they are big). We also ordered wine by the glass since I drink red wine and my wife white wine and it was not possible for us to drink a full bottle each. As soon as we gave our order, the waiter's attitude completely changed. We suddenly were held in contempt, with disdain as we were no longer customers that would spend a lot of money in that restaurant. The meal still cost me 120 CHF. When we asked questions about some items on the menu, the waiter gave us a "This is veal with tuna sauce. It's easy! Do you understand english or not?" This was the most disrespectful attitude I had ever encountered in a restaurant. While the food was OK, this waiter ruined the whole experience for us. Now, him being a senior staff member, he is likely to coach the rest of the waiters to be like him. If I was the owner of this restaurant, I would fire this guy right away. He just wanted us to leave as soon as possible so that the table would be freed up for a "real" customer willing to spend more money than us. My recommendation: avoid at all cost.

Petit restaurant sympathique à Meiringen. Les pizzas sont excellentes, le personnel très souriant et agréable. A recommander, ce serait dommage de ne pas s'y arrêter !

Was only there for 2 nights. Very nice employees! Uncomplicated! Cozy, clean rooms. Safe, kettle, 2 armchairs, table with 2 glasses, suitcase support, enough cupboards. TV Breakfast buffet: good and enough: eggs, toast, cereals, croissants, rolls...etc. Mini point: Hot/cold water control doesn't work! Either very hot or very cold!

After the Aare Gorge we spontaneously went to the Steakhouse Leopold. We actually wanted a dessert, as the dessert menu looks very varied and tempting. But we decided to have dinner straight away and didn't regret it! The atmosphere was very inviting and homely. The staff is extremely warm and quick. I've never had such a big, delicious burger in front of me so quickly! It was prepared and served with a lot of passion and love! We can only recommend a visit and will definitely come back.
