The Ratskeller in Schwyz is an Asian restaurant with very good cuisine. There is something for every taste, from duck to sushi 🍣. The conditions are polite and on point. The kitchen is fixed. The location central parking is possible nearby. Prices are typical for Switzerland.

We haven't been to the Ratskeller for several months because of work. Now we are happy that it finally works again. The very nice and competent staff and the quality of the food are still the same. But, there were no more shrimp chips at the beginning and the food no longer comes in bowls on the rechauds, but there is a normal plated service. Especially in Asian restaurants, people like to share food, which becomes difficult with plate service. We were offered additional plates, but the rice was already on the plates and so there would be a mess on the table and plates. For dessert there is only mochi ice cream, which is absolutely not a culinary delight, or two types of Mövenpick ice cream. On the one hand, we understand the cost-cutting measures due to the lack of employees, but then we cannot understand why there is now a lot of sushi on the menu. Sushi is complex to produce. The changes were justified by a lack of kitchen staff. How about eliminating the sushi and just reintroducing the previous standard? In the medium term, this could cost some customers because the experience is no longer the same. Very unfortunate.

We reserved a table for 4. When we arrived, we saw that it was carnival in Schwyz. They were friendly in the restaurant, but we were brought a sheet with a few dishes written on it. Nothing else would be offered during the carnival season. Since we (at least 2 people) were looking forward to sushi, we were a bit disappointed. In our opinion, this should have been pointed out when making a reservation. Nevertheless, we ate well and had a nice evening.

The owner has changed and since then the food there has no longer been of the highest standard. I don't think it's worth going there anymore, the starters are so tiny, just a joke!!! and the main courses tasteless and overpriced. It's a shame it used to be one of the top restaurants in Schwyz and I'm very disappointed after tonight.
