Unfortunately, very bad food and service. Chicken is really bad, chewy. Cannot eat it.

Food is good, The service is good, Location is also very much approachable very near to station and bus stand. As an Indian, I will not say it as true Indian taste, but I will see as a god option when someone is visiting from india. Otherwise it’s a good option for the people outside india who want to try Indian food.

It may seem inconspicuous from the outside, but we always eat above average there, we're never disappointed, we always leave happy and full. Prices are fair, service is familiar. I come from the catering industry and feel very comfortable here, that's saying something. Thank you Royal Kitchen.

Very slow service. Took 1 hour to serve the food and the chicken tandoori tikka was very hard and chewy when asked for it he said it is suppose to be like this but when i said i am indian and i have ate in more places in switzerland its never like this so he started forcing that it is suppose to be like this rest is your wish. Plus i wanted to order something but had to wait like 10 mins till the waiter had to watch my hand. And also served wrong order

Delicious Indian food in Uster!

Unfortunately not recommended. Overall, far too expensive food (86 francs, samosa, nan and two main courses) for which we waited far too long (90 minutes) and which tasted neither good nor Indian. The good rating is incomprehensible. We were absolutely disappointed and will definitely not order again. Online shop: Unclear whether the ordering process is completed or not. No confirmation via email. Delivery: 90 minutes instead of the announced 45 minutes. We received a nice apology upon delivery and a free soft drink. Minimum order is 80 francs, normally it is 40 Prices: high prices, over 30 francs for a main course Food: unfortunately not good at all. Samosa was okay, Nan came in aluminum foil and tasted accordingly, Butter Chicken was lukewarm and tasted sweet, had absolutely nothing to do with the Butter Chicken we had eaten before, Korma Chicken was even sweeter, didn't sound Indian to us Tasted, chicken well, the pieces were not evenly cooked (some hard, some very soft).

We love Indian cuisine and are lucky to have an Indian restaurant in Uster. We have eaten at this restaurant many times and always found the dishes to be perfect and great taste. Be sure to try the delicious butter chicken, garlic nan and mix grill platter. There are various items to choose from on the menu. Very nice and clean restaurant and professional service. It's worth eating there.

Tables are rather cramped, meaning there is little privacy at the table. Onion baji and samosa were amazing. Paneer tikka and vegetables very good. Chikken Tikka was very dry. Very tasty naan. Service still has potential.

I am in uster for business purpose and one of my partner wanted to have Indian dinner so we went to this restaurant and to our surprise we found it true to it's name, really looking ROYAL from it's inside looks. We had bit of Non-Veg and Vegi dishes which were giving us an authentic taste of Indian flavours. Try their Royal Mix Grill platter which is awesome plus variety of Nans and curry dishes. On the whole, excellent ambience, excellent service, good quality food. Recommended to anyone who wishes to revive their Indian cuisine memories. 👌

Atlast we found an indian restaurant in uster which was really needed as we a resident of uster and fond of Indian cuisine. Yesterday, we had chicken Biryani, Tandoori Garlic Tikka, Lam vindaloo, Garlic Nan which was served freshly made and in the end we had a nicely decorated house made Mango kulfi. Restaurant is located near Uster Railway station and excellently decorated from inside. Very nice atmosphere and finest and friendly service given to us. We recommend this restaurant to authentic indian food lovers. In their Menu you get a choice of Vegan items, vegetarian and Non-vegetarians dishes. We will come back again.

Nice and authentic Indian Restaurant in vicinity of Uster Bahnoff. From outside, it doesn’t feel to be packing a warm and friendly experience from Inside. Food was good (Lamb Bhuna is a must try) and service was equally good. Mr. Singh (Owner of the Restaurant) is a jolly good person and cared about our experience there. Friday evening well spent !! we are going to come back soon 🙂

Don't be fooled by appearance! Nice, clean, well-kept atmosphere inside. Service friendly, attentive. Food comes in a reasonable time. It is kept nice and warm on fabrics. Very fine taste, varied. We felt very comfortable and would love to come back!

Sadly the service didn't know anything about the food served, nor did he care what we wanted. There was not even the question if everything had been good or how we wanted our food (spicey or not, it was just sadly unspicey) . The dishes were small, but the taste decent.

Could be the best Indian I have had in Switzerland, for sure the best Indian takeaway. Lamb Korma, super tender lamb and flavourful creamy cashew sauce. The Aloo Gobi had such a nice aftertaste that lingers in your mouth. The Palak Paneer and Chicken Tikka was also good and proper Garlic Naan. Generous portions. We ordered everything mild so our kids could also enjoy everything, and they did. Will try it at lunch next 😉

Came here on a Saturday evening. What I liked about this restaurant is the food took the right time to be served (not too quick, not too slow), which in my judgement means the restaurant is well organised and the food is cooked fresh (..I always wonder how chinese restaurants are able to serve hot food after just five minutes of having ordered it!). The food was really very nice, and the spices tasted fresh. We also ordered rose-infused lassi drink which we enjoyed, next time I will try mango. Nice to see they also had Kulfi ice-cream, although we did not try it. We tried the Gulab Jamun for dessert, which was ok but could have been better. Our daughter does not like spicy food, so it was great they also had simple available food for kids (chicken nuggets and chips is what we ordered). Service was friendly and professional, and prices were very reasonable by Swiss standards, being a bit cheaper than lots of other (traditional Swiss) restaurants I was comparing with.

The Royal Indian Kitchen is highly recommended. Super fine food (those great Indian spices) and very warm, authentic service. I will definitely eat here again soon! There is still a lot to discover on the map. By the way, you'll see why the restaurant has "royal" in its name when you're in the restaurant!

I was here for the first msl. I think the homemade breadcrumbs are delicious. The lunch buffet is standard with meat, fish, vegetables, or beans, lentils, chickpeas and sauces. Fresh chabatis are served with this. Really good. Thanks!

My meal (chicken curry) was ok, but nothing special - the sauce was a bit watery and had no real taste. The dishes of the other three in our group tasted better. Unfortunately the service left a lot to be desired. And I hope that the condition of the women's toilet is not an indication of the hygiene standards in the entire restaurant, especially in the kitchen...

Restaurant with Indian cuisine from the northern part. Since I am not a connoisseur of Indian cuisine, I cannot judge whether it is authentic or not. In any case, we enjoyed it from the starter to the dessert. The tables and chairs are quite pompous, probably typical for Indian restaurants? The portions are reasonable, the service is attentive, friendly and personable. If you're looking for variety, you haven't come to the wrong place here.

The restaurant doesn't seem that inviting from the outside, but the food is simply great, authentic and the service is very helpful and friendly. We will definitely order and come by again.

Indian cuisine is known for its spices and flavor explosions. Unfortunately, you don't get your money's worth here at all. Who cooks the food here? Certainly not Indian! The cuisine and taste couldn't be further from India than Switzerland. Pepperoni everywhere. Everything half-baked. The paste from the jar from the Indian has more flavor than what we were served. Not a single typical spice was tasted in the Chicken Tikka Massala dish. The chicken as tough as German leather. It's a shame, we were looking forward to a new Indian in Uster. Well, unfortunately never again...Sorry but that doesn't work at all. How is it possible that this restaurant has so many 5 star reviews? Either people don't know real Indian food or we received a completely different quality of lunch than usual. Something is wrong here...

A few days ago we ordered takeaway food for a birthday party and, as always, we were very satisfied. Several guests asked us for the address of the restaurant because they were also enthusiastic. And today I'm going to get something from the lunch buffet again, excellent price/performance.

It was very tasty and definitely recommended! If there was something to criticize, it would be the limited number of parking spaces. (but if you ask, they will help you)

Finally! After a good 25 years, Indian cuisine is back in Uster. The visit is worth it: authentic cuisine, finely seasoned, nice little lunch buffet at lunchtime price (25 including drink) tastes like more! Great: You even have Parratha, be sure to order it! I'll definitely come back!

Siamo stati diverse volte in questo pub che, essendo uno dei pochi nel suo genere a Uster, è spesso risultato una scelta ovvia quando si vuole bere una birra in un ambiente da pub. Il locale è il tipico pub in stile irish, con una piacevole terrazza esterna e una zona fumatori interna. Quella che sto per racontare è la storia triste di un bel locale il cui potenziale è totalmente vanificato dai suoi impiegati.Purtroppo la nostra ultima visita ha confermato l'impressione che ci eravamo fatti le volte precedenti: il personale, disattento, poco motivato e poco professionale, rende l'atmosfera piuttosto pesante. Malgrado un locale non pienissimo per via delle restrizioni Covid, dopo 15min abbondanti siamo stati invitati a ordinare senza vedere il menù, malgrado ad altri tavoli questi fossero distribuiti. Per fortuna sapevamo già quello che volevamo, però insomma...ai 2 bambini portano 1 solo bicchiere d'acqua (uno per 2). E già cominciamo male. Arrivato il cibo (per 4), il cameriere ci porta - dopo mia richiesta - le posate...sì, ma solo per noi adulti. Forse s'immaginava che i bambini erano venuti solo per guardarci mangiare, e che un bicchiere in due fosse già ampiamente sufficiente (?)...Un delusione infinita non sentirsi clienti graditi, e questo ultimo episodio ci ha fatto definitivamente passare la voglia di tornare al Porter. Per essere onesti, una nota a favore la darei alla selezione di cibo e di birre, tipiche da pub, e di qualità nella norma per un locale del genere. Le pietanze/bevande - quando uno riesce ad ordinare - vengono pure servite in tempi accettabili.Conclusione: 3 piatti da 8 nuggets, 2 patatine, 4 birre piccole e 1 (+1 dopo richiesta) bicchiere d'acqua del rubinetto = CHF 84. Eine schöne Lokalität, mit Plätzen draussen, einem abgetrennten Raucherbereich wo man schöne Abendsonne geniessen kann und liebevoller Einrichtung im Innern.Die Bedienung war sehr freundlich, hat uns jedoch nach der Gertänkebestellung gut 45 Minuten nicht mehr beachtet, bis wir sie daran erinnerten, dass wir gerne Essen bestellen würden. Leider ging dann nach unserer Vorspeise auch der Hauptgang vergessen und so mussten wir erneut eine knappe Stunde darauf warten. Die Warterei gab auch dem Essen einen faalen Nachgeschmack, schade.

Die Portionen sind gross und das Essen ist sehr geschmackvoll, oder kurz gesagt lecker.Nur der Preis ist etwas übertrieben, dafür gibt es aber immer wieder verschiedene Preis-Specials.

Bestellt habe ich mir den Porterhouse Salad mit Rindfleischstreifen und die Portion ist also anständig gross und es gibt auch noch gutes Brot dazu. Für einen Afterwork-Drink ideal oder zu Schlumi mit Freunden. Leider eher mühsam, wenn man mit dem Auto unterwegs ist. In der Seitenstrasse hat es nur 2 Parkplätze,... oder auf Risiko, irgendwo abgeschleppt zu werden... (bei mir gibt's dort immer Bussen). Also am besten gleich den Bahnhof vor der Türe nutzen

Wir waren an einem Freitagabend im Porters. Wir bestellten den Vegi Burger, einmal mit Wedges und einmal mit Coleslaw Salat. Der Burger war absolut mega! Der Salat war sehr frisch und lecker. Auch die Wedges waren mega knackig und frisch! Da wir lange warten mussten, offerierte uns das Personal dann den Kaffee am Schluss! Sehr freundlich und sehr zuvorkommend. Jederzeit immer wieder gerne!
