1 night and very disappointing evening at the dormitory, welcomed by an embittered MANAGER with a bad temperament, our group of around twenty Bikers had an unpleasant stay despite a magnificent landscape, we felt from the manager a hatred of his job! You have to question yourself if you don't like contact with the public WE DO NOT RECOMMEND this place AT ALL Sylvain Val D'usiers Motorcycle Associations

I had a great time in this restaurant. The decor is fantastic and inspires calm. The menu was very good and above all with very friendly service and lots of smiles. The prices are very reasonable. An address to keep to spend a moment of relaxation with a very beautiful decor overlooking Lake Derborence.

Magnificent kitchen and warm space

Very nice, idyllic place with delicious local beer 🍻👌 (It's worth asking! 😋). The area is wonderful for hiking. We saw a lot of marmots and heard deer there. Small natural paradise. However, the road to drive up is very narrow and partly sloping. Not suitable for people who don't like driving mountain roads...

An idyllic setting on the edge of a majestic lake where the surrounding mountains are reflected, everything looks good when you arrive at the Refuge du Lac! It’s a shame that things get spoiled when the manager of the place welcomes (or rather doesn’t welcome)… The latter, who doesn’t seem to have learned what friendliness, a smile and respect for the customer are, doesn’t is only addressing you to “yell at” you because we should definitely not dirty his dormitory with our things. Dormitory with more than questionable cleanliness but impossible to comment on this subject under penalty of being insulted because it is cleaned every day according to the boss and "we cannot prevent dirt from falling from the ceiling..." Of course! Fortunately the cuisine and decor make up for the inconveniences encountered within the refuge, and the dining room staff are very friendly and efficient, well done to them! One piece of advice to give to the happy owners of this place: change managers!!!

Property of a large wine house in Vetroz. The establishment is run by a manager and that's the problem. The food and service are ok, the staff goes out of their way. The prices are rather expensive, justified or not? Since the manager prides himself on being a refuge but with rather high prices. The Manager is execrable and allows himself all kinds of comments about customers, including insults towards women. I advise you not to stand up to him otherwise he will give you his unbearable rant and don't expect an apology. To summarize, the place is one of the most beautiful in Switzerland, superb establishment and infrastructure. But a manager below all, forgetting the welcome and the service profession, to content himself with distilling his stupidity and his lack of education. Why does this wine house continue to insist on keeping this person at the head of this beautiful establishment?

I got a salad, very small and expensive. To make it worse, the lettuce was not well washed, you could feel like sting dirt! My friend ordered a rosty, she was very disappointed also. This rest exploits turists, should be closed or change administration urgently!!

Be careful when you pay with the card there is an extra 10%, the waiter tells us this when paying without saying it before! Truly a scam! The service sucks!

Seasonal friends avoid this establishment... Disrespectful manager with his staff, problem with contracts and salaries... Some employees worked undeclared and without work permits for several weeks... So rare in Switzerland but still possible...

The place is very beautiful. Well appointed dormitories. I had an excellent night there. However, the coldness of the staff is felt. The boss and the waitresses will not have a smile, even when paying the bill. Food is average.

Friendly welcome, very good roast beef. Terrace well exposed to the sun. Very good rosti. Be careful the last 200 meters are a gravel path. On the way up or down you can come across the post bus. Traffic can be difficult.

Beautiful place and good food. Unfortunately the manager is hostile and aggressive with customers. Alcohol problem? Poor organisation? Regardless, not only were we uncomfortable but we were also scared. If you really have to go, for your safety avoid being alone with him.

A very beautiful, mystical place. If you have read Ferdinand Ramuz's book, you will arrive here with an excited attitude. You won't be disappointed. Went up on a Sunday morning with the Postal Bus. Had a milk coffee, then a walk around the lake. "Round the lake" is a big loop around and takes less than an hour. Very pretty. Back to eat before taking the bus back down. I had the roast beef with salad and country fries. Very nice! On a Sunday it was very busy and the staff a little stressed. But taking everything into consideration, this mountain refuge deserves 5 stars for the food, service and location!! ***** ❤❤❤❤❤ I went up on a Sunday morning with the post bus. Magnificent place but terrible welcome. The boss clearly overwhelmed by events, as unpleasant with customers as with staff. We were greeted with a "have you booked?"... no "Hello", no smile.... Good food nonetheless.

Very good food and efficient service. The half mushroom crust was delicious and sufficient. And the lemon tart is a treat.

Magnificent refuge with a very large terrace overlooking the lake. Quality food at very reasonable prices. The staff is smiling and the boss is keen to respond as best as possible to customers' wishes.

We stayed in one of the apartments which was very comfortable after a long hike and the staff were very welcoming. The food was delicious and a great view of Lake Derborence.

The welcome was impeccable, the host takes great care and will be able to inform you. The food is good, just a little too salty. The room was perfect. We didn't use the jacuzzi but they worked.

Mixed experience during a weekend spent with several families. The owner insulted us several times, clearly incapable of handling his stress, put us in Carnozet even though we had reserved the terrace three months ago, spoke to us in a very disrespectful manner when we took place in the dormitories with young children. Very good meals but very unpleasant welcome. It's a shame

We just wanted to have a drink because it's hot. We are told to put the sticks in a door 🌂 and take a tray to go to the bar and then go to the terrace below. And then bring the tray back to the bar. Great welcome. I don't like it. Hi.

Very arrogant and rude staff. I went with my parents (80 years old) and I asked if a place in the shade was available. The person at reception told me that it was August and that he couldn't fight against the sun. A simple question, a very unpleasant and rude answer. We left without consuming anything. To avoid.

A real haven of peace. We discovered this place during a motorcycle outing. The place is idyllic. We were very well received and ate very well. The trout was succulent. Well cooked. Very nice place. We will come back to this.

From Conthey to Derborence an absolutely magnificent mountain road...by motorbike 🏍 for cars it's more complicated...and at the end a great place to walk.

Today we randomly visited the Deborance valley and this restaurant. Even though we didn't have a table reserved and it was quite crowded, we got one right away. The service was friendly and the food was prepared quickly. The food (tartar and roastbeef) was beautifully plated and really tasty.
