Mittleres Preisniveau. Am Wochenende auch am Nachmittag warme Küche. Jederzeit wieder, eine tolle Entdeckung!

We are often guests in the impressive, noble and yet homely-looking Trot. Large and small pieces of jewelry from bygone times have been tastefully incorporated. At a rather late hour for the walk, the trot shone invitingly at us with its indirect light, but we were still treated to Philipp's hot chocolate cake and ice cream. Afterwards, Mr. Gruber gave us 2 greetings from the wine treasury with the riddle as to which of the wines was over 15 years old... They tasted heavenly. Clearly, for me as a layman but a gourmet, both were desserts fit for kings and queens. With a lot of background knowledge and passion, the boss personally treated us to a romantic evening with a suitable surprise ✨ Thank you very much ✨

Open daily from 1 p.m.! Fondue can be ordered in advance for 2 people or more. Ziit, dinne, a de Warmi z'hocke. Plan your special event for up to 40 people! Original, informal, rustic; Select wines from Markus Hedinger as well as delicacies to combat hunger, at fair prices. Fantastic panorama over "s' Chläggi"/Klettgau from Beringen to Erzingen! Year in, year out, always worth a visit! In good weather in the garden, in bad weather inside by the fireplace.

went to lunch with a hiking group. Very friendly and nice service. The food, whether a meat dish or the risitto for vegetarians, was very good and inexpensive. The atmosphere is cozy and the tables are beautifully decorated. The inn is recommended for hiking groups and clubs.

Lately, on my hiking excursions through various parts of Switzerland, I often passed by restaurants, which would have tempted me to visit, but this was not to be due to the pandemic. So all I could do was to keep the nicest looking places in my mind, planning to return eventually at another time. When hiking in the 'Südranden', a low mountain range of the northern Jura, I saw in a wide clearing of the Rossberg forest a traditional looking restaurant, the 'Rossberghof' with an old carriage nearby. On a hiking signpost it said that we were at an altitude of 620m and it doesn't get much higher in this area. I could well imagine this to be a popular place to come for a meal, away from everything. There is a big parking at the Rossberghof, and since many will want to use it to start a hike, one is requested - as it says on a board - to go for a consumption as well. On two subsequent walks I passed by here out of different directions. The most beautiful walk was the one from Osterfingen to the Radegg ruins, arriving at the Rossberghof only about 20 minutes later. I then went through the small, unpopulated Haartel valley back towards Wilchingen.Another hike took me from the medieval little town of Neunkirch over the Wannenberg to the Rossberghof, which was a 20min branch-off one way and then continuing towards the Wasenhütte und the village of Guntmadingen. I was following the 'Bohnerzweg', the way of the stone iron, a bean shaped ore (thus the German name), which got excavated in this area until the 1850's.
