That's not just a cliché here, no, it's still alive and reminds me of the good old days when the guest was still king and the food was prepared according to tradition. Enjoyment is key here. There were 8 of us from the company for lunch. The restaurant is run by a nice couple - the husband cooks and the wife happily serves and is very nice. The lunch menu includes: salad AND soup (with most other restis you have to choose either salad or soup), then the main course and piece of cake, all included in the lunch price (depending on the menu 19-26.-). There are 3-4 different menus and all of them are fine. The price is unbeatable for the food and service. We would be happy to come back. Thank you.

A small, cozy restaurant with a chef who deserves at least one star. The food was a delight. Bea and Jackie Camenzind-Widmer are lovely people and you feel completely at home. The two know their craft. I will gladly come again. Thank you for the great evening.

The sauerbraten with mashed potatoes, various vegetables and red cabbage was wonderful! The starter was a quiche. The innkeepers put a lot of effort into it. I was there by chance and will happily visit the "Bahnhöfli" again. By the way: the collection of siphon bottles on display there is remarkable.

It was remarkable!!!! If you're in Basel it's worth traveling there just to sit in the restaurant! It is owned by a lovely couple and it's a family business running for 30 years!!! The pasta was fantastic and we ate the best banana bread in the world there!! Do yourself a favor and visit! I'm so grateful I have found this place by accident after a long hike!
